Day 3 of The 12 Days of Christmas

Third for The 12 Days of Christmas: romance moments is Whisper of the Heart. These 12 Days of Christmas posts aren’t in any particular order. I just choose moments that actually made me feel all warm and squishy inside. Oh and there might be spoilers about so read at your own risk. For the most part though I think I’ve kept things as spoiler free as possible.

This Ghibli movie is one of my all time favourites. It is second only to the oh so awesome Princess Mononoke. It was followed by a sequel called The Cat Returns which is also in my top favourite Ghibli movies as well. Ghibli movies are generally hit and miss with me. But when they are hit boy do they ever hit.

Who? Shizuku and Seiji

Why they are adorable: At the end of the movie Seiji asks Shizuku if, once he becomes a luthier, she would marry him. She happily tells him that she was hoping for that question and agrees. They then watch the sunrise together. Holy melt any ice queens heart moment!

So awesome to see an ending like that after all the bickering they did throughout the movie. Almost makes me think that the age old "opposites attract" theory holds true.

Full on sun, beautiful.

For a movie that is basically a coming of age film I was rather surprised at how enjoyable it was. It wasn't really about anything at all. A girl, a boy, and their hobbies. That's it.  It wasn't overly long either. It was slow but not so slow that I would loose interest. The animal interactions, mainly the cats, were always a joy to see.

It had a great feel music wise which added to the enjoyment.  The song "Country Road" was amazing to listen to.

Just watching how much fun they all are having makes me wish I was there singing right along with them.
