I had been looking forward to this show ever since I heard it be announced that it was going to air. I'm happy to say that episode 1 did not disappoint my excitement for it.

Mikado Ryugamine

We follow Mikado Ryūgamine who goes to the big city to meet some friends he talks to all the time online. We get to see these conversations take place over the internet which I found to be a little boring yet interesting at the same time. Made me think of irc haha. The horo cameo was cute too. She was a little distracting during that scene though.

The intro was done the same way as Baccano! had done there's. Awesome music and telling who the cast is with a flash of their names to go along with their character. I found this to be very helpful in Baccano because of the huge cast. Pretty funny when the first words out of my mouth while watching the intro was "ohhh that guy is hot".

Compared to:

Meow!

The kitty motorcycle rider was very AWESOME and has NO HEAD. It's just a black smoke covered by the cat helmet. I can't wait to learn more about this character. She comes along and whoops ass to those creepy kidnaper dudes.

Creepy men near vans...

Always stay away from them...








Crazy scar! I have one too!

I'm also very interested about the girl that had the crazy neck scar that the boys bump into on the street. I can't wait till the next episode to meet more characters. Durarara!! is definitely going to be my favourite airing of the winter season! (possibly the year) Check out Digitalboy's post of this episode as well. :)

    So far, the OP is the most intriguing element of the anime. But it’s still too early to judge:)

    I feel so curious about the “no head heroine”. But I have to say something. BACCANO! is one of my favorite series of all so Durarara!! has a hard challenge: follow the steps of that masterpiece and keep showing originality. This first episode was a little bit boring for me (the last scenes were great, but I need a whole good episode instead) however, first episodes of good series aren’t the best of them.

    aawww~~ i really love this anime ! i love Izaya-kun !,… ahhh… Shizuo-kun is cool, but Shinra-kun is cute too… im so confused ~ I love all of themmm~~~ ^^
    I cant wait the last episode, episode 24…
