From the anime The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Kyon is a highschool student that randomly gets pulled into Haruhi's antics. He is the second member of the SOS Brigade unwillingly. In this club they look for mysteries of the world and try to solve them. Kyon is the one that also tells Haruhi's story in the anime.
Why I like him: We share the same irritation for Haruhi.
Why I hate him: He narrates throughout the entire anime about the various absurdities of Haruhi. This greatly irritated me. It would have been ok if what he said was interesting to me ever but it never was. He really isn't a very likable character at all for me in general. Even thought he was always so pissed off about his situation, all he ever did was whine about it.
Overall: I don't get him at all... lol

I love Kyon because he reacts almost exactly as I would in his situation. (I probably wouldn’t ogle Mikuru quite as much . . . Yuki on the other hand~) Sure he bitches a lot, but he’s just a normal guy who’s been shoved into incredibly absurd circumstances. The best way to deal with it is to crack wise like Kyon.
And Kyon is the signature Tomokazu Sugita role. No seiyuu does sarcasm quite like him.

Kyon’s sarcasm is done better in the novels, I feel. I really like the novel Kyon. Normal Kyon, well…I didn’t love the series in general. The characters were all pretty meh.
