From the anime Claymore, Raki is a poor mis-fortunate boy who has his entire family killed by the Yoma, whom are monsters that kill, torment, and eat humans. A Claymore named Clare comes along and saves him from death. Instantly he is grateful and wishes to follow her on her journey much to her annoyance.
Why I like him: Uhhhhhhh no just no... Well there was that part in the series that he disappeared to train or something for a long time so he wasn't around for like 10 episodes and we just got to follow the story of Clare.
Why I hate him: Same reason why pretty much everyone else hates him. He was annoying and weak. Always seemed to be in Clare's way. He always made me think less of Clare even though she is totally awesome. Somehow with Raki being around it weakens her appeal to me.
Overall: I am in total agreement with everyone that calls him useless.

of course, in the manga, when he comes back from his training trip he is a hardened badass who can fight as Clare’s equal.

What a whiny bastard…. Raki’s one of the worst anime characters ever. His English voice even further accentuates his whiny-ness.
