He wasn’t completely useless, he helped Claire come back from partial awakening in the cathedral which kept her alive. She went on to kick much butt and save some the other Claymores, so indirectly he had a significant impact. Though other than that and sorta helping to bring her back in the last episode he was much more annoying. Especially when he convinced Claire she shouldn’t kill Pricilla which makes no sense what so ever. Raki, you just left her to kill and eat more people.

What a whiny bastard…. Raki’s one of the worst anime characters ever. His English voice even further accentuates his whiny-ness.

of course, in the manga, when he comes back from his training trip he is a hardened badass who can fight as Clare’s equal.
