Day 66/365

Suzaku Kururugi

From the anime Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, Suzaku Kururugi is the son of Japan's last prime minister, Genbu Kururugi. His existence was kept a secret from the public until after the war due to "interesting" circumstances. He pilots a Knightmare Frame known as the the Lancelot.

Why I like him: His ideals match mine for the most part. Watching him fight battles in his Lancelot (very fitting name) was always fun, along with that silver tongue of his too. He is very determined to do things his way.

Why I hate him: His pride got in the way of a lot of things that he should have done.

Overall: A character very well done. If he wasn't in this anime I might have not bothered with it.

  3. I loved rooting for Suzaku, even if I was a huge fan of all Lelouch’s scheming and backstabbing. Suzaku really had the right idea about how to change things, and even when he started to go to the dark side in R2 I cheered him on like the Emperor in Return of the Jedi. ‘Good, good! Use your aggressive feelings, Suzaki. Let the hate flow through you!’ At that point, after what Lelouch had done, I really enjoyed seeing Suzaku get all ends-justify-the-means.

I don’t like him because his ideal is completely opposite to mine. In other words; I’m a Lelouch-type person (don’t tell anyone okay, LOL)

Suzaku will always be one of the more contraversial characters in Code Geass. While I agree with his whole ‘changing things from the inside’ enthusiasm, I really think that the way he went about it (killing his dad, being a totally tool for the occupation forces) was pretty counterproductive to say the least.
