365 Days of Anime Characters: Day 100/365 Nagisa Furukawa
Day 100/365
From the anime Clannad and Clannad After Story, Nagisa Furukawa is a high school girl whom gets sick all the time. Since she is always sick she is very frail and timid. She also has a lot of love for The Great Dango Family. (I will eat them all one day) Later on she has a very close relationship with Tomoya Okazaki.
Why I like her: The only way she was in anyway likable for me was when ***Scroll over for SPOILER: She was DEAD!
Why I hate her: No character in ANY other anime fills me with as much rage as Nagisa does. I find her selfish and a very cliche character. Only a character with memory loss could possible make me more angry. ***Scroll over for SPOILER: The fact that she wanted a baby knowing she could and would pass on her illness to it pisses me off to no end. FUCKING ADOPT!!!
Overall: Bleh. Someday I might bother to write a full review of this show... I hate Key...

I’m not completely convinced that Tomoya and Nagisa DIDN’T adopt and just ended up with a defective baby. You don’t even see them kiss in the series, and yet I’m supposed to believe they were screwing when we weren’t looking, and then ended up with a baby? Bulllllllshiiiiiiiit

Thank God. Someone who doesn’t like Nagisa. She can’t hold a candle to Kyou, the best character in the series.

Kyou was probably the only character in the whole series that i could tolerate

Erghh! I just had to add that Nagisa had no way of knowing that her disease was hereditary in any way. I mean it’s not like her parents had the same disease or anything. She was the sweetest, most hard-working character ever!!!

I really liked After Story (well, except for the first 7 or 8 episodes), I think because I related to it so well. My wife didn’t go Nagisa on me, but I have a daughter, and the show really did a wonderful job in conveying how a father feels about his daughter (at least once Tomoya got his act together).

@Charles the fact that he had to “smarten up” to feel like a dad to his OWN flesh and blood (maybe??? XD) was just inexcusable.

Tomoyo all the way~
