From the anime Gintama, Gintoki Sakata is an ex-samurai to put it simply. He opened a freelance business where he and his odd co-workers will do any jobs for any price so they can eat and continue on in their new strange world.

Why I like him: He's hilarious, clever, and always drinks his milk. His odd quirks are what make this man awesome. Sure he's lazy but that's also part of his amazing charm. No matter how silly and strange he is there is a side to him that will do anything for those that he considers friends. Or hell, he'll do the right thing all the time no matter what the situation is.

Why I hate him: I'd have to be crazy to hate Gintoki in anyway. He is simply pure awesome.

Overall: If you like parody anime and haven't checked out Gintama yet do so NOW. It is the king among parody.
