From the anime Nyan Koi!, Junpei Kosaka is your typical high school student. He has crushes and hopes to have his feelings known to that certain girl. One day he accidentally destroys the statue of a cat deity. Now he is able to communicate with cats and the only way to stop the anger of the cat deity is to help 100 cats or he will turn into one. The only problem is he is highly allergic to cats!
Why I like him: Even though this hilarious misfortune has fallen onto him he tries his hardest to please EVERYONE involved while keeping it a secret from most. His interactions with the furry felines were some of the best comedy I have seen in quite some time.
Why I hate him: How can you not like cats even if you are highly allergic to them? XD
Overall: Bring on season 2 please! For a typical harem anime this one has captured me.

For such a bland sounding premise, Nyan Koi really did become a very fun show. Junpei’s day-dreamy devotion to Kaede through much of it was all the more fun to see amidst all the craziness going on around him.
Oh, I can’t wait for season 2 as well. I’ve already made a pact with RabbitPoets that I would cover a second season and ship Kanako against his Kaede if such a thing were to happen. And then lo and behold the final episode confirms a second season. I never thought shipping would be so much fun, and then I blogged Sora no Manimani, with RP and Scamp favoring the other two girls in the show. Good times.
