365 Days of Anime Characters: Day 166/365 Don Patch

Day 166/365

Don Patch

From the anime Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, Don Patch is an orange spiky ball with arms and legs. He wears lovely blue shoes too. He was the leader of the Wiggin Gang but left them to be Bo-bobo's right-hand-man in the fight against Czar Baldy Bald IV and the evil forces of the Maruhage Empire.

Why I like him: He was the "funniest" character in the show where everyone else generally just got on my nerves ALL the time. I enjoyed that we never really learned anything about his character but little tidbits. It made his unpredictable personality shine through better.

Why I hate him: Egotistical and self-centered to a crazy degree, those were the only times he drove me really  bonkers.

Overall: If you wish to kill some braincells you could watch this. I do not recommend watching it unless you wish to toucher someone though. I'm not sure why or how it got onto the cartoon network but lets just say it does not translate well...

Don Patch being a girl... Even though we aren't sure if he is in fact a HE...

I don’t know about the American dub/adaptation, but I can tell you this was very successful in Spain. It aired on Cartoon Network and on public television, several times, so much in fact that it almost stopped being funny. It’s a damn shame that it was canceled in Japan and they had to rush it at the end, but the classic episodes are still gold.
