365 Days of Anime Characters: Day 176/365 Hojo Akira

Day 176/365

Hojo Akira

From the anime Sanctuary, Hojo Akira is an organized crime boss of a small Yakuza clan that is getting more and more powerful. A man from his past named Asami Chiaki is a politician aiming to become the youngest member of the Japanese parliament. Their goal is to turn Japan into a sanctuary to their liking through the advantages of their respective fields.

Why I like him: He's willing to do anything necessary to achieve his goals.

Why I hate him: None.

Overall: Sex, violence, and a goal for turning Japan into a sanctuary. Sounds good to me!

365 Days of Anime Characters: Day 175/365 Oscar François de Jarjayes

Day 175/365

Oscar François de Jarjayes

From the anime Rose of Versailles, Oscar François de Jarjayes is a powerful woman that was raised from birth as a man so she could be her fathers successor and command the Royal Guards serving at the Court after he retires. Oscar is loved by both men and women, especially Marie Antoinette whom she protects within the Court. As the series moves along Oscar learns of the political ideals of the Revolution and that the royalist regime is corrupt, thus the French Revolution is about to begin.

Why I like her: She is a wonderful woman that fights for what she believes is correct. Her character was so well done in EVERYTHING she had going against her and had to fight for. There's a great story between her and André Grandier which is one of my favourites.

Why I hate her: No hate.

Overall: Oscar is the perfect character for today since it's Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day here in Quebec which also celebrates the provinces The Fête nationale.

365 Days of Anime Characters: Day 174/365 Ginias Sahalin

Day 174/365

Ginias Sahalin

From the anime Gundam 08th MS Team, Ginias Sahalin is a Zeon officer and a brilliant scientist that is charged with the task of building a great mobile weapon powerful enough to destroy the Earth Federation Forces. He is the older sibling of Aina Sahalin and cares for her a great deal. Together they wish to accomplish his goals.

Why I like him: He starts off as a lovely man with a dream and slowly descends into madness! That was a pleasure to watch. Right from the beginning you could tell there was something quirky about him.

Why I hate him: Scroll over for ***SPOILER*** He shoots his own freaking sister right in the chest and gets really mad when he finds out she survived. (because of the pocket watch...groan...)

Overall: Highly recommend watching this to see Ginias superb performance.

365 Days of Anime Characters: Day 173/365 Elie

Day 173/365

Elie

From the anime Groove Adventure Rave, Elie is a girl that has no memories of her past. She meets Haru Glory, whom is on a mission to find all the Rave Stones and bring peace to the world. He vows to help her figure out who she is and where she came from. The only clue she has is a number written on her arm saying 3173. Or does it?

Why I like her: I like her fun energetic side that she brings to an already energetic group. She has awesome weapons even if she can't really fight well with them and she learns how to use an awesome power later on in the anime that makes her even more awesome than she was.

Why I hate her: Memory loss = lame but we did get to find out about her before the series ended.

Overall: I think I'm one of the only people to really like this show as everyone else I've talked to about it has hated it to bits. XD

365 Days of Anime Characters: Day 172/365 Osamu

Day 172/365

Osamu

From the anime Kimera, Osamu is a salesmen along with his buddy Jay. They come across an accident and are ordered to leave by the military. They couldn't leave in time and ended up in the middle of a "vampire" attack where Osamu meets Kimera and becomes linked with "her" somehow.

Why I like him: He was a hilarious lead character. Thrown into an unknown situation he made the best of it. He kept pushing forward even if he wasn't sure what he should be doing. I think he made the correct decisions in the end.

Why I hate him: No hate here. lol

Overall: I wrote a hilarious review for it over on Anime-Planet a while ago that people should check out and check out this ova. It's short and fun.

Osamu's about to get some hot test tube action.
