From the anime Macross Frontier, Sheryl Nome is a super popular pop idol from Macross Galaxy fleet who is known as the "Galactic Fairy". Sheryl recognizes the singing talent of Ranka Lee and helps her from the background as she focuses on her own career. Both girls eventually become intertwined with the fight against the Vajra. She also becomes a possible love interest for Alto Saotome, a skilled variable fighter pilot.
Why I like her: I liked the realistic way her character was done. Up in the air confidence just to have it shattered only to make the best out of it and keep on going. Her hair is really pretty too... lol
Why I hate her: At first she was a grade A bitch, but that slowly went away as time went on and she was brought back down to reality.
Overall: Team Sheryl FTW!

Same here on disliking her at first, but what a great character she became. I don’t think Macross has done character progression with a female character so well since Misa. There’s a lot of believable change with Sheryl, and through her, with Alto too.
