From the anime Ghost in the Shell, Motoko Kusanagi is a cyborg employed in Aramaki's squad and is second in command for Section 9. A mysterious hacker known as the Puppet Master is on the loose and begins making chaos for people's memories. Motoko is on the case and because she has a full cybernetic body she begins to question her soul, if it retains any humanity she started out with.
Why I like her: She's a bad ass lady that takes crap from no one. She'll go to great lengths to get the job done. I want her body...
Why I hate her: I guess sometimes she was just too cold. I dunno I kinda like that about her too... lol
Overall: I've only ever seen the first movie because I'm afraid that the newer stuff won't live up to my expectations of this amazing movie that captivated me more into anime fandom. Someday I'll get around to them...

The movie was good, but honestly the Stand Alone Complex series outdoes it in every respect. I kind of think of the movie as boring after watching the first season and some of the second season of SAC (I need to finish that someday.)

I enjoyed the first G.I.T.S. movie, but I love G.I.T.S. S.A.C. I highly suggest it. You don’t have to fear what the newer material will do to your image of her, she remains an amazing character. You owe it to yourself to see the series.

I’m not sure if I’m so much in love with SAC. Granted, I’m only at episode 16 of the first season, and it’s anything but bad, but I felt that the movie was better in atmosphere. SAC feels more like a really good (and unconventional) cop-series, where the first movie had something magical.
Either way, Motoko “The Mayor” Kusanagi is bad ass.

@Canne I don’t like her body in THAT kind of way. (lol) It’s more I want a body that I can just fix easily if something breaks cause my body sucks
