365 Days of Anime Characters: Day 262/365 Rika Furude

Day 262/365

Rika Furude

From the anime Higurashi no Naku Koro ni and Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai, Rika Furude goes to the same school as Keiichi but is in a different grade. They are great friends and she is also best friends with the girl she lives with Satoko, another student. She has no parents so she is the head of her family and is seen by the villagers as the heir of the local shrine. Rika over time is the only one that seems to remember what happens each time things are re-set and wishes to find a way to stop it.

Why I like her: She is completely adorable. I love how she is so short and has blue (almost purple looking) hair with cute bangs.  Nipa~ Ni~ <3 Even if she acts like a child there is a deep mature side to her. She is determined no matter what happens or how many times to save those that mean the most to her. Scroll over for ***SPOILER*** Her interesting relation to the Witch of Miracles, Frederica Bernkastel is awesome!

Why I hate her: I think it is impossible for me to feel anything but love.

Overall: Someday I will play the VN's and read the manga. I love the Higurashi universe so much and I know I'm missing out a lot by not reading more about it from where it first came from. Image below done by etou (cherry7).

  1. Ahhhh! I still have nightmares about that chick!

I’m looking forward to finishing Kai & figuring out what her deal is.

So wait, “uguu” annoys the hell out of you but you have no problem with “nipaa”? You confuse me.

But anyway, Rika is fucking awesome, as is all of Higurashi.
