Voices of a Distant Star is about a girl and boy who end up getting separated because she joins the army to go and fight a war in space.

Oddly enough I never noticed this before but both the girl and boy uniform in this ova look VERY similar to the Neon Genesis Evangelion ones. You can't see it in the picture above but the girl uniform in Voices has a similar "jacket" that looks like a vest. The biggest difference between the uniforms is that in Voices it has a long red tie instead of a thin bow tie unlike the Eva ones. The boy uniforms are... Surprise, surprise... The same.

Overall: If I was going to fight aliens in space I think I'd rather to be naked in my mecha instead of wearing my school uniform.
