~A Look at Anime to Come~ Fall 2010

Wait what happened to Summer 2010 you ask? Basically I was too busy with real life stuff. We threw an event that I made a lot of decorations for in July and since then there's been plenty of travel and birthday parties to tend to. Now that fall is on it's way and things are calming down again it's time to get back to being a hermit for me and watching current airing anime. Looking at this countdown site and some charts here and there, I've put together this little look of anime to look forward to for fall.

*Sora no Otoshi­mono 2

I love this show to bits. It's loaded with fan-service and the story is pretty darn cliche but I love all the characters to no end because they make me laugh.

*Yumeiro Patissiere 2

Ichigo Amino keeps up with her dream to be a great pastry maker! The show started off pretty meh to me but grew on me a lot as episodes flew by. Now I can't wait each week to see a new one. HAPPY HAPPY MACAROON FUN FUN GO!

*Arakawa Under the Bridge 2

The wacky cast is back for more adventures under the bridge they call home.

Hakuouki: Shinsengumi Kitan 2

S1 wasn't that great but it wasn't too terrible either. I'll watch it for the sake of completion.

Let­ter Bee 2

I hope there's less crying...

*A Cer­tain Magical Index 2

Unlike most, I really enjoyed Index 1 and disliked Railgun. So I'm quite pleased that this is being made and hope it's just as entertaining as its S1.

Motte To Love-Ru

I know nothing about this show as I haven't seen the first one and have no intention of getting around to it this year or ever probably. Maybe when I run out of anime. Could be sooner than later. Bottom line. This is the only anime I will not be watching.

*Psychic Detect­ive Yakumo AKA Shinrei Tantei Yakumo

Well his red eye there gives him a special ability to see ghosts and spirits! Makes me think of Natsume Yuujinchou but with more mystery attached to it because he wants to help them get to the afterlife.

Panty and Stocking with Gar­ter­belt

Idol angels sent to Earth to fight ghosts... The animation looks totally interesting so I'm game.

Bak­u­man

Lots of manga fans are looking forward to this one. I have a feeling it may fall flat for me. But if the characters win me over it could be amazing. Boys helping each other make a manga just doesn't seem all that interesting to me. But if it is mixed with great characters and some comedy, it'll win me over like Doujin Work did.

The World God only Knows AKA Kami Nomi zo Shiru Sekai

About a guy who is good at playing games and winning 2D girls hearts... Righto. This one has a lot of hype around it like Bakuman but I'm skeptical about this one not being all that great.

Hope it actually comes out this time I'm a fan of the live action movies and read a few comic here and there. So it shall be interesting to see in come to life in anime form.

Inva­sion! Squid Girl AKA Shinryaku! Ika Musume

Moe teaches you not to pollute the oceans or squid loving girls will come for you! lol I can't even begin...

This one makes me think of B Gata H Kei but it's the males turn to be all weird and perverted. (Like "normal") Instead of making it known like the girl in B Gata H Kei he tries to hide it.

Yosuga no Sora

Harem...

Togainu no Chi

Makes me think of Bus Gamer but I think this will actually go somewhere. Probably not far but I can hope. Survival, crime, war. I hope for lots of action and blood. The, from what I can tell, all boy cast seems interesting to me as well XD

Tantei Opera Milky Holmes

I like detectives so it was only a matter of time before moe got it's hands on it.

Star Driver: Kagayaki no Takuto

Interesting robots I'll say that much. Kinda creepy actually. The idea sounds so generic though but there's a lot of people from a tonne of series I love working on this so who knows.

Otome Yokai Zakuro

"It’s the Meiji Era in a slightly alternate Japan" This sentence is so hilarious to me because looking at the picture above... DO YOU REALLY HAVE TO SAY "slightly alternate" XD I'm not sure who the target audience is here because of the "fox" ear girls and pretty boys in uniforms. It probably will be slow and boring but could be interesting if given a chance.

My Little Sis­ter Can’t Be This Cute AKA Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai

Lolicon bait. Sure to be a hit with most loli fans.

Sore­demo Machi wa Mawatteiru

A maid who wants to be a detective... oh why? Could have some laughs, but I'm not holding my breath.

Hyakka Ryoran Samurai Girls

Maybe not quite Queen's blade since it's about "school girls". So I'll go with perhaps it's going to be what the Real Bout High School anime should have been!

For­tune Arterial

Has a Vampire in it... Harem... Eroge Visual Novel... It has already failed for me.

Kur­age­hime

I don't know about this one. It feels like it's going to be this seasons Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei but instead of a male it's a female. Throw in some otaku stuff of course.

Nougyou Musume AKA Agricultural Girls

 

This is going to be short 3 minute episodes about some girls that love to grow things. Hope it's good cause it looks adorable.

There's a bunch of ova's coming out but who knows when most really come out and well there's a lot of them that I haven't seen their series or really want to see. I'm looking at you Hidamari Sketch. >.<

At this point I have no idea which titles I'm going to blog. Suggestions welcome ^_^ Overall I'm kinda meh with this line up. I generally never complain about such things because there's always SOMETHING to look at. When only 2 new shows out of like 20 or so that I'm really interested in are airing it's kinda a let down.

Ohhh yeah! Spring!

I'm not the only one posting spring line up thoughts late so that makes me happy. With the help of awesome charts from Chartfag and from an Anime Countdown site to help me schedule my anime, I've looked around a lot to see who has been saying what and what I'm interested in seeing myself. Unlike last season this one has a lot more to choose from so the chances of finding a lot of awesome always go up along with finding the terrible. Chu-Bra holds my title for worst show of the year so far, although Kiss X Sis could upset Chu-Bra from this title.  Scamp has created a very nice preview as well which was very fun to read and gives a lot of extra little background information to each anime.

Angel Beats Everyone is looking forward to this one... I'm skeptical. I have a strong feeling I'm not going to like this because it's made by the same people that made Kanon and Clannad... But this one does have a different formula than their usual dish. Action. Don't screw it up for me studio Key.

* Arakawa Under the Bridge I think this would be the one I'm looking forward to the most aside from the several ROTK anime. Girl meets boy, they have to live under a bridge because that's where she lives. lol ok.

* Battle Brave Warriors (SD Gundam Sangokuden (ROTK) It's going to be fun seeing ROTK characters played out in mecha form

* Betrayal (Uragiri wa Boku no Namae wo Shitte Iru) Ang­sty bish­ies with yaoi tones. Could be good, probably will be average or even below average.

B-Type H-Group Looks like a trashy smut manga. Could be entertaining in a groan kind of way as most smut is.

Giant Killing Football (soccer) anime. I'll give it a whirl. Never watched an anime based on this sport before oddly enough.

Hakuouki: Shinsengumi Kitan Anime based off a game hardly ever do it for me. But since I haven't played the game it could be ok as I have no expectations for it that way.

Heroman I think it's going to flop... I'll be very VERY surprised if I like it.

* Hetalia 3 already started and I'm already very much a fan.

Ichiban Ushiro no Dai Maou More magical academy anime but this has lots and lots of fanservice. Gonna be another boring harem trying to be unique.

Kaichou wa Maid-sama Ladies vs Butlers without the fanservice. (At least not to that extent) Definitely looks like it's more aimed at girls than boys this time around. Gives off an Ouran feel to it for me.

Kiss X Sis Inces­t is fun but not when it's done like this. The ova was... Special...

K-On! Season 2 I watched S1 with a friend and that same friend wishes me to watch it with him again. I'll do it for him as I really have no interest in watching a S2 of girls playing instruments in school. Image above done by ~shaoron.

Mayoi Neko Overun Nyaa! Loli cat in a box. Oh boy. I love cats and all but I don't think this anime is going to get very far enjoyment wise unless something super interesting happens plot wise.

* Rainbow - Nisha Rokubo no Shichinin Dark and gloomy. It's about some boys that go through hard times but they always look towards a better place.

***** Romance Of The Three Kingdoms After almost a year of waiting the time has finally come for this remake to be aired in Japan. I loved the first one when I watched it last summer (Made it my 1000th anime watched) and thought to myself, wouldn't it be great if they remade this with today's graphics. Little more than a month later this showed up on my radar and my wish had been granted. Now I can only hope that someone will pick it up to be subbed as other really awesome ROTK anime seem to not have quite the following (Souten Kouro).

* Sarai ya Goyou (House of Five Leaves) Edo-era Japan with the sho­guns. I'm there.

* Senko no Night Raid Fighting secret wars in China, I'm game. Looks like a lot of fun with pretty animation.

* Shin Koihime Musou Otome Tairan Huzza more of my black haired beauty and her interesting friends are back for more crazy action and odd ecchi moments.

* Working! Read my PreRelease thoughts here. Basically I like it.

Yojo-han Shinwa Taikei Looks quirky so we're in for some weird animation. Plot seems to be interesting enough as well following a person reminiscing about their past.

Yutori-chan 1-4 already aired. She works for a telemarketing company. Random stories and fun occur including some close encounters with the boss, cellphones, and illness! Could be cute. I like that it's short episodes.

That's it for everything that I will be watching/airing. Oddly there are a lot of things I'm interested in and of course a lot that I have no interest in either. There are always lots of OVA's and some movies that come out but I won't really bother talking about those. GINTAMA movie!!! Also everyone seems to be really hyped about the ova Black Rock Shooter. I personally don't care either way about it but I will watch to see exactly what all the hype is about. Here are some second seasons or beyond that I probably will not get around to. But I can hope.

Jewelpet 2nd and Marie and Gali 2 No one will probably pick these up because both their S1's were dropped.

Ookiku 2 and Major 6 Both are about baseball... ewww. But I did just get Ookiku S1 so since it's only 25 episodes and ONE season to worry about, I'll be watching it next week most likely. I hope it's good and not boring like almost all other baseball anime I have watched.

Ikkitousen If I get around to watching all the other seasons I'll pick it up. Highly unlikely. I do want to start this series someday though. I'm a sucker for Romance of the Three Kingdoms knockoffs as you all already know.

Ring ni Kakero 1 Highly will try to watch the older one(s) first. But since I haven't even done that with Cobra it's unlikely that it'll happen. Although it is 24 episodes between the 2 of them so it's likely to be watched next week along with Ookiku.

Iron Man Originally was on the line up but sadly will be delayed till Fall The live action movie Iron Man 2 will have to make do till then. Can't wait!

Bakugan... We'll see as I just finished S1 and half way through S2... Don't ask why...

Hime Chen! Otogi Chikku Idol Lilpri Uhhhg what a title. I honestly don't even know what this is about. Something to do with card games and magical girls. No thanks. Looks like Pretty Cure mixed with Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch... >.<

Working!! 01 PreRelease

Oddly this is the show I've been looking forward to the most for the upcoming Spring season and I gotta say I'm still interested but I was expecting more for some reason. It's only one episode so far though so we'll see if it turns out to be a hit or miss.

Taneshima Poplar (17) is a very short high school student. She is ordered at the beginning of the episode to track down a new worker for the "family restaurant" by the assistant manager.

Takanashi Souta (16) is the new recruit Taneshima found on the street by randomly bumping into him. He took her for a 12 year old lost little girl at first.

Shirafuji Kyouko (28) assistant manager she's kinda lazy and gives off the impression that she doesn't really care about what's going on. She mostly lets taneshima do everything

Satou Jun and Souma Hiroomi are cooks. I can only imagine what trouble these 2 guys will get into. Satou seems distant yet awesome and Souma seems to be a happy go luck kind of guy.

Todoroki Yachio a bubbly happy girl who is the main chef. She just happens to have a samurai sword... Interesting and weird. Wonder when she'll use it on Souta.

After some introductions and some training the characters start to blend together in an interesting way and odd personalities start to shine through. Especially with Shirafuji Kyouko. She turns out to be super awesome yet has a very cranky side to her. Souta randomly asked her her age. When she said 28 he called that "old" so now he gets to work everyday as punishment for like 2 weeks. Never call a lady old. Remember that boys.

"But anything over 12 is too old"

She then comes to the rescue of Taneshima whom was being harassed by customers. They were pulling on her hair and calling her a child... WHO DOES THIS?!?! Manager sees this and goes barging over with a huge kick to the face for one of them simply saying "Violence is bad". She is definitely going to be my favourite character of the series. She reminds me of a cross between Mitsune (Love Hina) and Nobue (Strawberry Marshmallow).

Inami Mahiru has a HUGE fear of men and is what seems to be the last character introduction for the first episode. She will hold much laughter I'm sure.

"Will a normal person be able to survive in this environment?" says Souta.... Yet he is far from normal himself! This anime holds potential! The ED was cute but forgettable. Bring on episode 2 in a month or so!

Ladies versus Butlers! – 01 – PreRelease

So I went into this expecting yes maids and "some" ecchi. What I got was basically Kanokon with maids, in a school setting. OUCH. I hated Kanokon and my ecchi/fanservice tolerance, while it's pretty high, it has to be tasteful! This is just cliche crap over and over again. I was calling out each and every move. Tsundere, clumsy maid, loli that just looks like one, girl from his childhood who clearly wants to marry "him", and many many more....

Well I'll get to who "him" is now. Hino Akiharu just transfered to Hakurei-Ryou Academy. Upon his arrival to the school he meets Miss Flameheart. Who has hair that is HUGE and looks like a  croissant. Because of her hair she gets the nick name "drill". She instantly gets angry about a male being on the premises and proceeds to chase him down. Sadly she gets mistakenly "assaulted" by him with some boob grabbing and ends up flashing her panties to him as well. He ends up running more from her and basically ends up mistakenly "assaulting" pretty much every girl he comes into contact with. I'm not sure if it's actually assault if they are just fainting from what I can only assume no boy contact ever but whatever. From the 19 year old loli whom he basically strangles, to the preppy girl that just has to strip in front of him because he spilled tea on her boobs.

Interrupting his strip tease is the clumsy maid in training who clearly can't do anything right. But most otaku wish they were in his possition with what happens because of her climbsy self.

Finally his running comes to an end when he comes into "contact" with his childhood friend Suzuhashi Tomomi, who wishes to be called Saikyo now for some reason. Her intentions are clear right from the beginning of her appearance. Marriage. She is the one that explains to all the girls that Hino Akiharuis indeed here at their school to train to become a butler. Everyone seems to be okish with that answer except miss croissant "drill" buns.

Afterwards it randomly cuts to girls bathing... Then to Hino Akiharuis walking into his room where his room mate Daichi Kaoru appears, just wearing a towel, gets frustrated and randomly warns him not to interfere with his life. ok... I put a his here because I'm sure he's a boy despite the trap look. I could be wrong though.

I noticed that there was a lot of pantie shots and boob jiggling too in this episode. You could even see the nipples showing through the blouses. I can only imagine what the series will be like uncensored. Just thought I'd point that out... Fans of ecchi look no further your next fix is here! It's going to be a long winter with this series... Possibly fun like Saikyo says.

The 12 Days of Chistmas

While surfing around looking at all the awesome anime bloggers out there I came across animemiz’s scribblings.. and saw this post. I think this is an adorable idea so I will be following animemiz's example. I shall be doing my own little 12 Days of Christmas by looking at 12 gushy lovey dovey moments in anime that made my heart melt. I too shall start this on December 14, and go till December 25.  Seems like a cute little tradition for the holidays and a nice warm up for getting into writing a post everyday. ^_^"

 

~A Look at Anime to Come~ Winter 2010

As promised from my other post, here is a breakdown on my first thoughts of the Winter 2010 series that are coming out. I used the follow up winter chart from chartfags to gather this list. All in all the only show I'm looking forward to watching is Durarara. Katanagatari (if it comes out) would be my number 2 choice. I have very little interest in anything else but Hidden God and Harukanaru Toki no Naka de 3 look like they might hold some potential. So-Ra-No-Wo-To also looks interesting but I'm afraid of series that revolve around music. Normally I end up hating them because I don't enjoy the music. Anyway here we go!

Just reading this little synopsis makes me shake my head. While it might sound like an ok idea on paper, I can't see this working out so well on the screen. More so judging by this picture there are only females aside from that one male in the middle.  (there might be another in the right corner but whatever ) Right away I see they are throwing the main idea out the window for this anime and just going to make it about this dude and these girls running around school with magical powers. If it actually keeps it's focus on the "battle of the classes" this anime might be enjoyable enough to get an average rating. School life anime are very difficult for me to get into because they are almost always the same and that gets pretty tiresome after a while. I'm hoping that this magic element will be able to hold my interest with a good cast of characters as well because if the characters suck it doesn't matter how awesome the plot is, it just won't be enjoyable.

Wow... I like a good ecchi romp every now and then but this is just trying WAY too hard to be over the top. I generally dislike any anime that feeds the hoards of men that want to jerk off to every hot/cute anime girl they see. Nasty lol. Hopefully this show will not take it's self seriously and will be able to make me laugh. Because honestly a club about pantsu.... at school? This sounds hilarious but might fail hard so my hopes aren't too high for this one. This might be a good ecchi follow up for my beloved Sora no Otoshimono airing from fall. Good recommendations for each other that's for sure.

Now I'm no vampire fan. Actually one might say that I am very much against all the hype these creatures get. Because don't get me wrong... Vampires are cool but when they have been used so much in anime let alone in real life stuff it gets very tiresome. *shakes fist at Twilight* Or maybe I'm just a hater for no other reason than people seem to love them even if what they are in is shitty. Anyway I get the feeling like this is an anime version of Blade or something. So it could hold some potential for being good. It better blow me away with some amazing action and blood. I'm hoping yet again that a show this season will surprise me.

Now right away this title has me at the mere mention of "from the creators" of BACCANO! I love Baccano to bits. If I was an anime character I would seriously be Miria. Reading this synopsis it tells me right away that they are sticking with their love of a tonne of interesting quirky characters. I am deeply interested in this headless Irish fairy. Will it drink all the time? XD What information is this vendor selling? What does this underworld doctor mean? Does he treat demons or something? So many questions! I hope to be filled to the max with non stop action and some weird romance thrown in there along with maybe a little gore. Baccano sure was a nice surprise for gore! I'm so looking forward to this show!

I'm generally all for weird randomness in shows. But this one doesn't do it for me. I doubt this will get picked up by fansubbers anyway because season 2 and season 3 haven't been finished yet. This is very niche humour.

Moe nastiness. I'll never understand these type of shows let alone why people like to watch shows about really young kids. Is it the huge eyeballs? The carefree feeling of being a kid again? .... The innocence? *barfs* At least in Kyou no Go no Ni the kids were after each other... Not teachers.

I'm all for people being sucked into another world and being told they are the only one that can save it. Overused yes, but what these other worlds hold are generally a lovely mix of fantasy and adventure. I would like to think that this is going to be some epic awesome adventure like The Twelve Kingdoms but I have a really bad fear that it will not deliver on  that part and focus on these 8 bishies that are to "protect" her. More like fight over which one gets to make out with her.... Oh which one will it be? XD

I have a deep deep seeded hatred for this franchise.... I will be the first to admit I thought it all was going to suck. But I did enjoy the first Pretty Cure when I sat down to watch it. (Kinda how I was with Sailor Moon way back when but ended up liking it and starting down the terrible anime fan path XD) After that first season though things went down hill REALLY fast and I found myself struggling to finish episodes let alone keep going to get to each different series. So you may be thinking at this point well why keep watching? My answer is that I was the one that wrote all the synopsis and took the screen shots for each and every one that are listed on Anime-Planet. I still have a few more titles to add which is why I will be watching this one as well. Purely to add it to the database. I will most likely put it in my stalled list after watching only enough to be able to write a proper synopsis for it. I hate you Precure. >.<

Yup I have nothing to say about this show. I will NOT be watching it. I sat through ALL the other ones in hopes that it would make me laugh or something but all I got was annoyance. Won't watch list for you Hidamari Sketch... Give me more Strawberry Marshmallow instead of this crap! >.<

This show will either be completely boring or totally awesome tip of your seat sitting through each episode. I'm obviously hoping for the latter but will probably get something in between. At least the graphics look really pretty. It's making me think of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni for some reason but I can't quite place my finger on why. Maybe deep down I just want something else to be as awesome as it.

I don't know if I should hate or like it. The story is cliche but it could just be a fun cops and robbers type show with some cute moments and lots of laughs.

A martial artist setting out to discover more special swords. It sounds boring but it should have a good amount of adventure to keep me interested. I mean Naked Wolves is a show about learning sumo moves all over the world. It's totally cheesy with the art and well just plain old lame but it is oh so entertaining. LOL How can this show be worse that that one? XD

This show seems like some weird cross between Hayate the Combat Butler! and He is My Master but in a school setting. It could hold some laughs but I'm not really interested as the whole maid/butler thing in anime has never done it for me.

Guess I should actually watch the rest of this series in order to start this one. But once again the musical aspect of it scares me. Pianos are nice but I have to be in the mood to care about them. Who knows maybe the drama will be good and distract me from the music if I hate it. Oh and this picture does look like 2 dudes. XD

*face palms* If it's not maids it's cat girls. And this one has a sword and protects a boy... *rolls eyes* Fan service at it's best I suppose. Maybe the action will be worth sitting through this crap. And who knows there might actually be some interesting plot. God I hope so....

This all seems normal till it gets to the part about getting power from breast milk to control iron? Ok seriously wtf. This is worth checking out after sitting through Fight Ippatsu! Juuden-Chan!! with all the peeing! It'll probably be so bad it's hilarious because that is exactly what happened with Ippatsu let alone the infamous Queen's Blade.

Like Nodame Cantabile: Finale I have not seen what comes before this one. So unless I watch that I will not be watching this one... and honestly I might just "forget" to get around to it. Ecchi card battles does not seem like a good combination for me.

Military + music? Ok you got me. I'm interested to see what kind of music will be used in this. Deep down I hope it doesn't suck because I would like to enjoy something other than Durarara!! this season. But having it revolve around kids doesn't help me have faith in the quality of this show.

Uhhhh I don't get it.... Probably won't get picked up by anyone anyway. LOL

There you have it. All my thoughts on the upcoming crappy season of anime. I really hope I enjoy more than 1 show this season... It'll be a long one to get through otherwise.

Winter 2010

From the wonderful charts from Chartfags here is the 1st batch to look at for winter 2010.

Yeah you can't really read the synops atm but I'll fix that later when i do a complete break down of my thoughts are on each show. All I can say right now is... things are looking weak... really weak.
