Hide, Moe's brother, isn't too impressed with Poyopoyo though... I sense a beautiful relationship a brewing between them! Poyopoyo is quite the energetic cat even though he is so round and blob like. Kinda like my cat actually! Poyopoyo can amazingly run really fast, generally for food, he oddly likes bathing and jumping around. He'll even play with kids and not hurt them when they poke and tease him! All in a days work for cute little Poyopoyo!

The OP for this show is cute and adorable singing about how awesome round things are. When these round things are in cat form I gotta say I agree with the song 100%! I'm so looking forward to this show every week and hope it ends up being like 100+ episodes! Yes I missed my weekly dose of cat short goodness and Poyopoyo is totally going to fill that void!

Oh pretty bishies!

A lot of falls (still airing) shows might end up with a rating change (the 7-8 ones) but for now this is how they stand. I'm excited to see how much better Gundam Age can get for me. It's been quite fun so far. Bakuman 2 is going strong so far and I'm very happy that we can all look forward to a Bakuman 3 next fall! Ben-To, Persona 4, and Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere were a lot of fun to watch. I'm happy with how they went from me wondering if they would be good to being AMAZING. Persona 4 is continuing on into winter so there's more to look forward to of that.

Best Show of fall should be Last Exile: Fam but since it's still airing I'm going to award this honour to Fate/Zero. As said before I haven't played any of the games but I did watch Fate/stay night and enjoyed it a lot. So much that I even re-watched it before Zero aired so the bf could experience it. I can't wait for S2! What a mean cliffhanger to leave us with.

Worst Show of fall is of course Mashiro-Iro Symphony. Eroge. Harem. Yeah...

Surprise enjoyment: Guilty Crown simply because everyone else in the whole wide world likes to hate on it. How I'm not a hater with the haters is amazing honestly but I like the damn show! Kimi to Boku could have gone either way for me honestly. Something drew me into it though and it may or may not have to do with cats~ Can't wait for more come spring. Chihayafuru is super girly for me but this 'Karuta' game they play keeps me interested. I'm not fond of her or the game but I do like watching them play it.

Surprise fail: Honestly there were no anime that I found bad that I thought weren't going to be already. That just further proves how awesome the fall season of 2011 has been!

Honorable mentions: High Score & Chibi Devi! I'm actually blogging! Un-Go was everything that Shinrei Tantei Yakumo wanted to be. Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai I wanted to like very much but deep down I knew it wouldn't be for me. It just drove me crazy with the 3 main characters being very unlikable as well. Phi Brain is the funnest shounen to sit back and enjoy... As long as you like puzzles... It helps when the very awesome tweets by @fathomlessblue are around to be read for it too!

Just looking at this picture offends me...

Ro-Kyu-Bu is easily the worst show I have watched all year long. While Onii-chan from winter was terrible indeed, it didn't fill me with nearly as much rage as Ro-Kyu-Bu did when I forced myself to sit through each and every episode. It's not even that the show is about lolibasketball. It's more the way it looks... Reminds me of CLANNAD! >.<

Surprise enjoyment: R-15, Manyuu Hiken-chou, & Nekogami Yaoyorozu all did something weird for me in a good way. Most people didn't enjoy these shows but I found myself hooked. Anime about porn writers, cat Gods, and AMAZING boobs are fun things for anime to look at when your only goal is to have fun.

Surprise fail: I actually had serious hopes that Twin Angel would be good. The ova was so why couldn't the series be? ;__; Even though I gave Baka to Test to Shoukanju 2 a high rating I was still pretty disappointed with it like most people were. They should have kept to what they were doing right from S1, although honestly S2 isn't as bad as people make it out to be.

Honorable mentions: No. 6 DAT KISS. Blood-C DAT BIMBO. Mawaru Penguin Drum DAT PENGUIN.

Looks cute...

With so many shows airing during the spring it should be no surprise that my favourite anime of the year started airing. Yes, Gintama 2 is my #1 for the year 2011. It's great to see all the characters back and getting into wacky situations! That space arc was AMAZING!

If Hyouge Mono actually had timely subs it might be in this spot but I can't put it there comfortably since I've only been able to watch 10 episodes from a 39 episode series. Hyouge Mono is certainly awesome though and more people should watch it!

Best Show of spring aside from Gintama because that's #1 of the year would be Toriko. He's a manly man out to find the most delicious food. It doesn't matter if he has to kill it himself! Just look at those arms! I plan to re-start blogging this series in the new year so look out for those! GUTS GUTS GUTS!

Lotte is adorable~

Surprise enjoyment: Steins;Gate took me by storm. I didn't plan on watching it at first but a friend convinced me to start it. It was like a super win with this series because I really thought it wasn't going to be good, like at all. Astarotte's Toy was pretty much written off by everyone. I too doubted it at first. After all when you see "Semen and 10 years old" in a first synopsis of the series it's hard not to be judgmental.

Surprise fail: Deadman Wonderland while it still gets a passing mark from me, it really needed more for it to be truly awesome.

Honorable mentions: Ao no Exorcist is awesome and no one can tell me otherwise. I hope we get more someday and I can't wait for that movie. Tiger & Bunny should have been a show I fell in love with right from the start. Somehow that didn't happen at first. It took a while for all the characters to grow on me too long for me to truly enjoy the show. Pretty Rhythm Aurora Dream is SO girly but I can't stop watching it. I love ice skating and wanted to be one when I was a kid. I should probably write a diary post about it or something~

Winter is either really fun or kind of meh. Unlike the last 2 years this year I didn't get a 10/10 anime that aired which I found a little weird because pretty much every season I get one of those... "Everyone's"  top anime of the year/decade came out. Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica was fun but I just couldn't get into it as much as everyone else. I do however love Kyubey very very much. I'd make a contract!  ／人◕ ‿‿ ◕人＼

Suite Pretty Cure has jumped to the top of the pretty cure franchise for me. It's quite awesome and exceeded my high expectations that Heartcatch created. I only hope that the upcoming Smile can match the awesomeness that has become Pretty Cure! <3 Siren!

The King of baka's!

Best Show of winter is Level E. It did wonderful things in a hilarious way. I laughed a lot. I only wish that it could have been longer. It needed just a little extra bit of something to be amazing. All the characters were really great. The show almost seemed like it was a parody of sorts for Men in Black since it was about aliens on earth but no one else knows about them.

Worst Show of winter is without a doubt is the oh so terrible Onii-chan no Koto Nanka Zenzen Suki Janain Dakara ne... So bad that most people watched this show with sccsav while drinking because that was the only possible way to get through this show. Unless you are me of course! Everything about this show is offensive...

Surprise enjoyment: Supernatural The Animation was quite enjoyable. It probably helps a lot that I haven't seen the American show it originally is. I really like that ED. Beelzebub started off pretty weak but after a while I sank in and started to really like the characters.

Surprise fail: Gosick I honestly expected much more from. Sure it has a pass rating from me but I really just wanted to be wow'd by it and that never happened.

Honorable mentions: Rio: Rainbow Gate! Sharks, Gambling, and boobs! Fractale is a show everyone hated on but I still got a lot of enjoyment out of it regardless. Wolverine was super fun and Landon agrees! Wandering Son is my most hated noitaminA show. The only one I hate actually. Which is hilarious because everyone loves it.

The therapist

Ghost Hound is about 3 boys in a small town. At first they don't really have anything in common but something is pulling them together. All three have had very traumatic experiences in their childhood they discover. This link between them makes it so they can travel through the "Unseen World".

This shot interested me a lot. (as pervy as that sounds)

I did things like that with my sister all the time when we were young.

I have no idea how to review this show because I loved it SO much. It's from the same guys that did Lain (which I love and is in my top 15 anime of all time) so it should be no surprise that Ghost Hound found it's way into my heart too. Like Lain it is a little hard to pin point the #1 reason why I was attracted to it but if I had to guess I'd say tone. Dark and mysterious without being too down to earth. There are wonderful sounds throughout the show that fits the moments 100%. These detailed noises were one of my favourite things about the show. When it wanted something to be creepy and strange did it ever work.  The look of the show is amazing to me. When the boys were traveling through the "Unseen World" it was quite something to see animated. When they first discovered this world I was honestly quite shocked but very interested in it's existence.

All the characters were amazing. Right down to minor ones. But with a show like this minor characters are always very important so it should be no surprise that they were wonderfully done. Minor character wise I'd have to say I enjoyed the therapist very much. No one in this show is what they seem and all end up coming together in the end quite well.

"A mask which is as fragile as glass, people wear it to hide their own faces." - this is uttered at the beginning of every episode.

Glass Mask takes a look at a young plain girl, Maya, that has the hugest hard-on for the arts. Theater to be specific. She wants to see all the new plays and movies that come out and she'll do pretty much anything to achieve that. Even go as far as taking a bet that she can deliver over 100 bowls of ramen before midnight on a cold and rainy evening (I think too lazy to check) to get a ticket. Probably would have been easier to suck some cock but well... this is shoujo... and not of the smutty kind! Sadly! Actually adding in some sex would have helped this show a lot since actress get into all kinds of trouble in that way when it comes to real life! But since this show is a very typical shoujo it should be no surprise that she does her impossible ramen task and gets to go and enjoy her play.

Maya soon crosses paths with Chigusa Tsukikage, a once famous actress that suffered a tragic accident leaving her scared and sickly (she's really creepy). Tsukikage owns the rights to a play by the name of "The Crimson Goddess" and won't give them up to anyone because she feels no actress is good enough to give justice to the roll. Until Maya appears that is. (BARF! How convent!) You see not only does Maya have a boner for the arts she can also be PART of them! Tsukikage pretty much kidnaps Maya to start training her to become the best actress ever. And thus we go through her trials of the harsh show business world.

I tried to like this show right from the start because the lackluster animation and music really reminded me of Candy Candy. I doubted that show at first too but it got better. Glass Mask doesn't get better sadly. But it probably doesn't help that I just don't give a shit about theater and acting. I've been to a few of plays in my life (a few that were in this anime even), but I'm no fan of this kind of entertainment. Maybe I just haven't seen the right ones or something...

Oh Mr. Bishie...

It doesn't help that I only enjoyed one character out of the whole show. And of course it had to be a douche bag rival of Tsukikage. Masumi Hayami was the most interesting character to me because he was rude but still polite, he cares about quality entertainment but is still willing to do dirty things to achieve this, and he of course falls in love with Maya. LOL! That pedo! (Maya is 13 and there's like 10+ years between them!) I dunno why he falls in love with her but it's not like we get to see any of that development. After all this show is only 23 episodes and it doesn't really end. I mean fuck the last episode was a RECAP!

Indeed!

I actually came to hate most characters by the end of the show. Especially Maya. She made me want to punch her all the time. I guess her childishness should have been expected and her annoying factor because of that but urg... I hate kids >.< I guess I can kinda see how people would love and root for her but when the plot is so bloody obvious all the time with how it's set up and the execution, it's really hard for me to give a shit if I already know what is going to happen. (I'm really good at that) I will however say that I enjoyed the relationship between her and her mother. That was interesting and very real life like. Mom's can be demons to their little bitches known as offspring and these 2 had a very interesting ride with this fire between them.

Rivals from start to "finish"

The only other character that we were suppose to take notice of was her rival in acting, Ayumi Himekawa. She was exactly what you would have expected a rival to be and look like. An evil but pretty face, a "hohoho" laugh, snobby, from a rich family so things were pretty much handed to her on a silver platter, etc. She was the least interesting character simply because of these factors.

These were very important flowers to Maya... I liked them too... But only because they are purple...

Overall I would have been happier with a different anime... Fucking shoujo drama crap... Part 2 to come tomorrow... >.<

Hajime no Ippo AKA Fighting Spirit's plot is simple. A boy named Ippo is the target of bulling. He hates that they pick on him but he doesn't know how to change his fate. One day the usual happened but this time he gets saved by someone. This someone just happens to be an up and coming boxer named Takamura. And thus a great friendship was born between the 2 boys and an interest in boxing emerged. Together they work hard to be the best boxers that they can be.

Ippo is a fantastic motivational anime. It takes a lot of work to do anything and this show shows you just how hard those things can be. This particular goal happens to be boxing. I think boxers are some of the most talented and dedicated athletes out there. It's fucking hard to take blows to the head over and over again while throwing a bunch of your own. Then you have to add in watching their weight so that means a very VERY strict diet. There's all kinds of different weight classes: Featherweight, Lightweight, Middleweight, Heavyweight, these are the few I can name off the top of my head not being a super fan of the sport. Ippo was in the Featherweight class where his buddy Takamura is in the Middleweight.

The animation and music aren't really anything special but they do fit the theme/tone of the show. There's interesting lighting they use when the boxers are fighting each other in the ring that I noticed was used in One Pound Gospel too. It's very angelic like which to me means that they are really trying to glorify the brutal sport. I have no personal interest in boxing but I don't hate it or anything. I'm more of an MMA kind of girl. An even more brutal sport!

With the plot being only about making it big in boxing they really had to pull through with having amazing characters. And pull through they certainly did! Every character you wanted to root for. Every character was likable as long as you took the time to get to know them. And know them we certainly got to do. Most anime tell us a pretty alright story when it comes to character background but Ippo just did it so well! I didn't end up having a favourite character because I love them all so much. If I really had to choose one it would probably be Ichiro. I can't explain why I see him a tiny bit above the rest but I just do.

Overall, manly show is manly men fighting to be the best. I didn't get around to watching Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger to include in this review but be assured it'll appear eventually on here.

I think I liked this character but I still don't really know...

Saying that Noein was complicated was silly. That anime has nothing on this one. I couldn't really tell you what this show was about properly but I'll do my best. Basically a group of special children have blue eyes and white hair. Interesting enough I'll give it with only that. I like it when hair and eye colours matter! Oh before I go on I should say it takes place in 2012 hehe. I always get a giggle out of anime that takes place NOW or soon. It's even more funny when 80s shows do it. Anyway the rest of it is basically about these children that are searching for someone named Tina... Yeah... I tried sorry if that makes like no sense...

The music for me was the best part of this show. The OP and ED were great! There was something really soothing and wonderful about all the music. It was almost calming even when shit was hitting the fan. There was also a lot of very interesting sound effects used that I enjoyed. Sadly that's about all I enjoyed. I liked the look alright but it wasn't anything special or unique. Maybe I've just watched too many anime at this point to even suggest that because compared to "normal" "standard" anime this one is quite different. Maybe I'm just pretty good at getting off the beaten path that anime looks tend to have and nothing is really unique anymore to me...

I wish I could say that I loved the characters. Unfortunately due to the issue I'll chock up to pacing, I just couldn't bring myself to care about any of them. I felt bad sure when some terrible things happened, and a lot of terrible things did happen, but I just would forget come the next episode. The pacing in the show is what really caused me not to enjoy it as much as I wanted to. I mean I enjoyed the idea behind the it all and some points were pretty cool but it just didn't have that extra thing needed that would have made it awesome. Monster is a good example of a show that had this kind of pace but still drew you into what was going on.

Overall yeah... I'll either have to watch this one again or never ever again. I don't know what it is about this show but I just couldn't get into anything the show had to offer. Kinda makes me sad since I was expecting much more wow.
