Tuesday Tally Week 1 Kick Off
Tuesday Tally brings you a huge list of what I have watched in the past week. I figured it would be a fun way to keep tabs on everything I watch. Especially just to see how much I watch in a whole week! I've kept things as spoiler free as possible.
Ok so here we go with some short thoughts here and there on each episode with some pictures that I thought were interesting. Bare with me as I figure out just how I want these posts to go for the next few weeks since they are a tad jumbled. ^__^
November 8th - November 15th
Monday:
Milky Holmes ep 4-5
Overall: I feel this show is quite similar to Twin Angel comedy wise sometimes but sadly overall it really isn't as good. I hope Twin Angel really does get that series that I keep hearing rumors about soon.
Bakuman ep 5-6
Overall: The show is progressing rather nicely. It is slow at times but it picks up interest wise that way. I enjoyed seeing a glimpse of what their manga is all about and wonder if it'll actually be made into one we can actually read at some point or possibly already has. I just thought about checking around for that right now and will do so later if I remember XD I like that they took their feedback from the publisher guy well. It wasn't all positive but it wasn't all terrible either. I really REALLY like that they are going to start giving feedback to each other now as well. Nothing can properly get done unless all parties involved feel 100% comfortable with how things are going.
When the publisher said to them "Gold = Cell Phone Number where Copper = E-Mail" I really laughed. Something about that was really cute to me.
Imouto ep 5-6
Overall: I can't relate to people "hiding" their hobby, but I know a lot of others out there can so I see why this particular subject was brought up. All I can say is a friend is not a friend if they don't accept everything about the other person, good and bad. The grandparents brought a lot of laughs to episode 6 and I think it was by far my favourite episode yet of the series. Especially since it didn't have the annoying little sister in it either except for boring fan-service. Why people want fan-service of that kid is beyond me yet it's anime so it'll happen no matter what. lol
Zakuro ep 6
Overall: The show has 100% gotten my pure love at this point. I'm in love with all the characters and it was delightful to learn about the twins sad past.
Bleach ep 293-295
Overall: I've noticed that when Bleach is actually dealing with plot episodes the recap bit in the front seems shorter. It use to take up a lot of time I found. Aizen is a huge jerk who loves to mess with people. I can't decide if I like this or not but I have a small feeling that Gin will end up being the full mastermind behind everything. I think we're in for more filler episodes very, very soon with the way pacing has been for these recent episodes.
Naruto ep 183
Overall: Whatever, untold fillers from the past. >.< *kicks naruto*
One Piece ep 472-473
Overall: Luffy takes a really, REALLY long time to run up to Ace. I think it's been going on for like 50 episodes now or something. If not, it sure feels that way.
Leda OVA - 80's person in a strange world romp 4/10 very forgettable.
Ai no Kusabi OVA - 90's yaoi with a PLOT other than fucking even though fucking has a lot to do with it XD 9/10 Super interesting and I can't wait to watch the upcoming series whenever that'll actually be released. I'd love to see this ova more fleshed out. harharhar.
Tuesday:
Yosuga no Sora ep 6
Overall: "From now on I can squeeze you everyday!" this show has turned into a hentai...
Heroman Extra 1
Overall: I'm not sure how this is an extra since it all did happen in the show if I remember correctly that is. at 3 minutes or whatever it really was it wasn't hard to watch. Maybe it'll make more sense when more extras come out?
Arakawa 2 ep 6
Overall: She has Parents??? The chick secretary reminds me of the snake chick from One Piece. I'm not sure why I just made that connection after all this time. "Will you come to Venus with me?" is such a great question and leads to some hilarious imaginary of them living on Venus. In the end the episode ended up being more serious than I expected it to be.
Victory Gundam ep 1-15
Overall: The youngest boy to ever pilot a gundam show. We have a pantsu masked man whom I'm not impressed with at all. The Gundam's transforming is super bizarre and just weird to me @.@ The thing I notice most is the moving music score that follows these intense scenes when shit is going down. There is already a huge body count and people do not know how to handle these things very well. I still hate Haro and the bad guys in this one aren't as likable as they have been in past Gundam's for me.
Wednesday:
Victory Gundam ep 16-36
Overall: Episode 26 was very @.@ You just gotta see it to understand. Episode 36 was also another @.@ moment that had to do with Uso's mother. The body count rises greatly and at this point I'm wondering exactly who will be left at the end of the series.
Ika ep 6
Bleach ep 296
One Piece ep 474
Overall: Not much to say here. Some laughs for Ika but the others just more slowly growing plot lines.
Thursday:
Victory Gundam ep 37-END
Overall: More lovely @.@ feelings with episode 38. No other series has actually made me make those kind of faces that often. Props to you V Gundam! The most memorable thing of the series is the body count and the fact that half naked ladies were sent out to "distract" Uso... YEAH! I still give the show a 5/10 but I may reconsider bumping it up after I mull it over a little more. Doubtful though.
Naruto ep 184
The World God Only Knows ep 6
Overall: Again not much to say about these 2 episodes.
Kuragehime ep 4
Overall: This show is win. The brother is pure awesome.
Friday:
Hime Chen Lilpri ep 31
Overall: Pumpkin time! Adorable Halloween episode and the girls were completely amazing in their costumes for their singing act. The cats in the show are now reminding me of the Onegai my Melody cats. I still have NO idea why I "like" this show...
Hakuouki ep 17
Overall: The show is ungodly slow. I'm still in love with the backgrounds since they are so beautiful. I really wish the story wasn't about vampire like creatures though cause that's a mood killer for me right there. >.<
Gundam 00 ep 1-13
Overall: The graphics are AMAZING and seriously make me drool. I haven't seen anything this pretty in quite some time. That's what I get for watching a lot of meh series though for the most part. So far I have the feeling that this is an updated Gundam Wing. I just get that feeling with these characters I suppose. I'm not too fond of the civilian sub plot right now and I really hope it has more to add than just comic relief in the future because that's all I'm getting from it at this point. The Russian commander is pure love at the moment. I can't really explain why. It might be that scar XD The drunk strategist is a nice addition but I don't like that a lot of the males look like females. I'm looking at YOU Tieria lol Celestial Beings are pretty darn awesome at the moment.
Saturday:
Gundam 00 ep 14-15
Overall: Shit is hitting the fan.
Sunday:
I DIDN'T WATCH ANY ANIME ZOMG
To be honest though I was sleeping because I was working at a rave all day/night Saturday.
Monday:
Arakawa 2 ep 7
Overall: Those bottle thingies in the beginning were so cool. I laughed a lot at the girls and boys spending time together underground to practive going to Venus.
Sora no Otoshimono 2 ep 7 -
Overall: A sinister angeloid appears and makes things complicated. The epic watermelon issue was hilarious!
Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru ep 5-6
Overall: Not sure what that creature is that randomly appears. Pedobear? A dog? I do actually think it is a raccoon though. The show is starting to be very hit and miss comedy wise for me. LUTHERRRRRRR. CZARRRRR. <- funny stuff!
MM! ep 6-7
Overall: The show is just an excuse to have girls in M wear -.- Really tired of seeing this chick give this dude just what he likes thinking it will "fix" him.
Bakuman ep 7 -
Overall: They decide on another sci-fi manga to submit which I find a little risky but the point is to make the publisher see how much they have improved which is a good move to do if they want to compete with that HIGHLY eccentric prodigy kid.
Fortune Arterial ep 6
Panty ep 7
Overall: *Shrugs* I did enjoy some of the music in the 2nd half of panty though.
~~~
There we have it! That really is a lot of anime up there... lol...
365 Days of Anime Characters: Day 14/365 Rangiku Matsumoto
Day 14/365
From the anime Bleach, Rangiku Matsumoto is the lieutenant of the 10th Division under her captain Toshiro Hitsugaya. Her zanpakuto's name is Haineko which means "Ash Cat". To release her straight-bladed katana into Shikai mode she shouts "Growl Haineko" which turns the blade to a very dangerous dust that she can control. She can not yet achieve her Bankai though she is trying.
Why I like her: She's generally comic relief! She's lazy and super manipulative because of her massive boobs. I love those boobs.
Why I hate her: I honestly don't! Sure she's a little selfish but that adds to her overall charm!
Overall: I think I have a thing for drinking girls. Matsumoto is almost always lazing away or nursing off a hangover. I gave her the nickname "boobs" (as I'm sure most people have) because well they are HUGE. I find myself always staring at them even though I'm a girl. There's just something about hers that are extra tempting to give a good motorboating to them.
My Top 20 OVAs of the Decade 2000-2009
The first installment of my decades list are the ovas of 2000-2009. I went through my watched list and basically wrote down everything that I thought was good and took into consideration the rating I gave them as well. When I first listed everything it came up to 17. So I decided to search through again to make it an even 20 as I think that sounds better to say "Look at my top 20 list!" than to say "Look at my top 17 list!" XD
Lots of other bloggers have already put up their lists and you can find them all listed over on Kitsune's page. Check them out! There's a lot of great lists to be had for all those list crazy people!
Putting this list together was pretty easy but putting them in an order took a lot of thought. It's always difficult to pick a favourite out of favourites. I also noticed I have some pretty quirky tastes going on with some of these ovas. So without further delay here is the list!
Bath time can be so much fun with family!
A tender father son moment.
20. ) Papa to Kiss in the Dark (2005) - Yes I hear you all screaming already... "oh great another yaoi crazed fan girl" but I can't help that part of me. Maybe it comes with being female maybe it just comes from enjoying a completely silly story about boy boy love! I'm going with the latter on this one as I know plenty of women that don't give a crap about yaoi titles. This ova takes a thrilling leap into 2 different taboo's that a lot of people would consider very risky!
19.) Early Reins (2003) - Now this one is nothing special at all but it holds a special place in my heart as I love westerns. This took that and gave it an amazing spin that only anime could do. Strong and mighty female hero's battling it out against foes.
The girls of the wild west.
18.) Bleach: The Sealed Sword Frenzy (2005) - This ova is by far the best spin off from Bleach that there is. It was exciting and engaging all the way through and I got a lot of enjoyment out of it. I can't imagine any Bleach fan not liking this amazing ova.
17.) Iriya no Sora, UFO no Natsu (2005) - Military, war, and love generally do not mix very well. Let alone with children. But I found myself gripped by the tragic story of these two young lovers and the animation was very lovely to look at.
16.) URDA (2003) - I've always enjoyed weird tales of WW2 involving time travel. Especially ones that take women as the lead rolls. This short ova does not disappoint with the drama and thrilling action!
15.) TANK S.W.A.T. 01 (2006) - Tanks, action, twins, and general kick ass! This quick ova was a great addition to a old beloved series Dominion Tank Police that I grew up with.
Walking along with her chicken sidekick.
14. Ghost Talker's Daydream (2004) - Following the story of a S&M dominatrix that can see and talk to ghosts. This alone was a seller for me! Hilarious situations and characters. My only regret from this show was it should have had more episodes. Endless stories could have been created with this amazing idea.
13.) Ryofuko-chan (2007, 2008) - Me being a huge fan of almost anything that has to do with the stories of Romance of the Three Kingdoms I found myself laughing so much my sides hurt. Seeing beloved characters put into perverted loli bodies was more than enough to make me love this short but entertaining show.
Brave warriors turned into lolis.
Looking for his friend in this modern world.
12.) Spirit of Wonder: Scientific Boys Club (2001) - Now science and anime never seem to sound like a good combination but this ova pulled it off. Being able to take its self seriously and having a strong suit for drama and character development I found myself enjoying every moment and urge people not to overlook it because of its scientific feel as you'll be missing out on a terrific story.
11.) Read or Die (2001) - It's been a really long time since I watched this show and it's one of my first anime DVD's I bought. I always find myself saying that when I see the title and it always makes me wonder why I haven't watched the Read Or Die TV series but then I always ask myself "What if it doesn't live up to my expectations?" I have such fond memories of the characters, action, and drama that went on in this ova that I'm too chicken to potentially ruin that memory.
Dvd cover
10.) Animatrix (2003) - A compilation of 9 amazing shorts to go along with the blockbuster movie The Matrix. The Wachowski brothers were greatly inspired by anime and thought it would be fun to collaborate with famous anime creators to make this amazing collection of work. I for one enjoyed the outcome of this partnership.
9.) First Squad: The Moment Of Truth (2009) - Studio 4C does it again. This ova took me by surprise at how much I enjoyed it. It takes place during WW2 but gets twisted in such a strange way to tell an amazing fictional story in such a way it makes you think it really happened. Real life Soviet and German war veterans are shown telling stories about the real war throughout the ova but made to look like they are talking about the events occurring in the show. It's a great confusing watch!
Bright colours.
Real life.
Crazy horsemen.
8.) Hotori: Tada Saiwai o Koinegau (2005) - This touching story is about a girl who suffers from a disease where her memory rapidly deteriorates. One day she meets an android that is being trained to take on the memories of a boy who has died. It's really hard to say what is so amazing about this series without giving anything away so if you haven't watched this wonderful ova I suggest you do so.
7.) Karas (2005 - 2007) - This ova is mixed with thrilling characters, great action, and an amazing story to go along with it. It has a very unique animation style that I found to be very eye pleasing. It took a very dark tone but added amazingly bright colours to contrast that feel.
6.) Voices of a Distant Star (2002) - This short space + romance + time travel ova took me away. I'm generally not one for romance in general but this was well done and gorgeous to look at. If it would have been any longer than 30 minutes I think it would have been ruined.
5.) Alien Nine (2001) - Elementary school children generally don't do it for me when it comes to anime but wait... They have to wear alien's as hats to fight off the bad alien's that crashed on Earth. Wow ok you got me there. This show starts off simple and pleasant enough then dives into a messed up world of confusion.
The alien "hats"
Such a bonding experience!
4.) Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari (2009) - A new interesting take from the Tenchi franchise. This one has got to be my favourite yet. Stunning animation, beautiful music, and a huge cast of characters. It holds true to keeping things on the funny side while maintaining that serious feel. I'm aware that this ova is still airing but it is just too good not to put into my list.
3.) Detroit Metal City (2008) - For a show about music that I generally do not listen to (Metal) I found myself falling in love with this short series. Laughter was created throughout all 12 of these 10 minute episodes. I even went as far as making friends of mine that do not normally watch anime to watch this. Music is a big part of my circle of friends and I knew it would be appreciated greatly. All characters were very well developed, especially the oh so confused main character Negishi Souichi. It was a delight to watch this show and I look forward to another series to appear someday.
2.) Hunter X Hunter OVA (2002) - This ova took what I loved about the later half of the HxH series and completed it. The story was stunning and always kept me pushing the next button on my player to see how the story would wrap up.
1.) Puni Puni Poemy (2001) - A hilarious parody anime that doesn't shy away from making fun of everything and anything! Taking Excel Saga much much further with its energetic, eccentric, and exotic feel. It takes you on a ride that you don't know if you want to stay on over and over again or get off.
Look forward to the next in line for the decades list! My Top 20 Movies of 2000-2009.
