I really need to get back into keeping up with blogging... I dunno why I've been super slacking this year all of a sudden but well I'm gonna try a little harder now... Or so I keep telling myself... >.> It's not like I've been super duper busy or anything either. But to be fair I was having a pretty rough time through February to March.
I really need to get more cooking with Oishii Anime posts up too. I have so many done but they require all the writing work still...
I am going to Anime Boston at the end of May though so there's lots of time to try and get motivated again!
Young Animator Training Project ova's have started to appear. I've only watched one so far (Arve Rezzle) but I thought it was pretty good. I'm going to wait for the last one to be released then I'll probably do a series of posts on this awesome project since i've been putting it off for 2 years now... >.>
Hyouge Mono subs finished! woot woot. Go watch it!
Wolf Children was a very heartwarming touching movie. A little slow of course but it hit all the right spots for sure. A more detailed post will be coming soon. Guskou Budori no Denki was a visual eye pleaser but the plot interest for me was pretty low.
Fairy Tail, Blood-C, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A's Movies... Meh... Watchable but still meh.
Space Brothers is still going!! I hope we get another 50 episodes since someone said they are only half through the manga at this point anyway.
WINTER 2013 has come to an end and I pretty much said what I think about every show here and here. I still feel the same about every show. S2 of Maoyuu Maou Yuusha WHEN? SPRING 2013 is short for me because I'm taking the season off and waiting for them to be complete. Which is honestly ok with me because not a lot is airing that seems of interest at the moment for me. Gonna watch all the Season 2's and the following:
- Attack on Titan - This is gonna be the new hotness for everyone so I midas well keep up with it. The first ep was pretty good for an introductory episode. Those faces are creepy as fuck!
- Line Offline Salaryman - Went from a short episode series in the winter to a full on show. Dunno what else to say.
- Ketsuekigata-kun - Blood needs love too I guess... wtf Japan why you so obsessed with blood types?
- Cyclops Shoujo Saipuu -
- Namiuchigiwa no Muromi-san - Why do people think mermaids are funny?
- Sparrow's Hotel - Looks like shit but it kinda entertaining.
- Aiura - Boring
Dibetagurashi: Ahiru no Seikatsu (A Duck's Life) I can't wait till subs appear for. This is gonna be the best show of spring I can feel it! Or maybe I just need a great replacement for Polar Bear Cafe. If it gets subs sometime soon I will likely attempt to blog it. If it is short episodes anyway. Higurashi Outbreak has me wondering if it will air or what too. OVA? Series? Who knows!
My April goal is to get through blogging all these short series I stopped on... Dunno if it'll happen but I at the very least want to do the last 2 episodes of Wooser!

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
There were a lot of anime that aired this spring! The only ones I didn't watch were the long running continuations of shounen aimed at a younger audience: Inazuma Eleven GO, Beyblade: Metal Fury, Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal, Digimon Xros Wars 2, and Danball Senki. I haven't seen any of these series except for Digimon but even then I only made it through the first 2 seasons before the 2010 reboot of the franchise. There was one shoujo title in there that I would actually like to watch someday called Jewelpet Sunshine. But first I want to watch the other 2 seasons of it...
With so many shows airing during the spring it should be no surprise that my favourite anime of the year started airing. Yes, Gintama 2 is my #1 for the year 2011. It's great to see all the characters back and getting into wacky situations! That space arc was AMAZING!
If Hyouge Mono actually had timely subs it might be in this spot but I can't put it there comfortably since I've only been able to watch 10 episodes from a 39 episode series. Hyouge Mono is certainly awesome though and more people should watch it!
Best Show of spring aside from Gintama because that's #1 of the year would be Toriko. He's a manly man out to find the most delicious food. It doesn't matter if he has to kill it himself! Just look at those arms! I plan to re-start blogging this series in the new year so look out for those! GUTS GUTS GUTS!
Worst Show of spring is Hoshizora e Kakaru Hashi... Harem... I don't need to say more. I hate most harem cookie cutter shows. Especially ones that come from eroge games...

Surprise enjoyment: Steins;Gate took me by storm. I didn't plan on watching it at first but a friend convinced me to start it. It was like a super win with this series because I really thought it wasn't going to be good, like at all. Astarotte's Toy was pretty much written off by everyone. I too doubted it at first. After all when you see "Semen and 10 years old" in a first synopsis of the series it's hard not to be judgmental.
Surprise fail: Deadman Wonderland while it still gets a passing mark from me, it really needed more for it to be truly awesome.
Honorable mentions: Ao no Exorcist is awesome and no one can tell me otherwise. I hope we get more someday and I can't wait for that movie. Tiger & Bunny should have been a show I fell in love with right from the start. Somehow that didn't happen at first. It took a while for all the characters to grow on me too long for me to truly enjoy the show. Pretty Rhythm Aurora Dream is SO girly but I can't stop watching it. I love ice skating and wanted to be one when I was a kid. I should probably write a diary post about it or something~
On the First Day of Christmas My True Love Gave to Me,
One Underrated Anime
Hyouge Mono has become a huge favourite of mine. Sadly not a lot of others agree. But there are some like me that still watch this series and get great enjoyment from it. The reason why so few are watching this of course has to do with a lack of quick subs. I'm really glad at least one group out there is still doing them. Huzzah is a great group that does wonderful underrated anime. Sure it might take a long time to get finished but at least I have the hope that these titles will be completed someday so I may enjoy them. Especially something as wonderful as Hyouge Mono!
So what is so special about Hyouge Mono you might be wondering? I can only speak for myself here but if you really enjoy fun historical anime that features Oda Nobunaga, who is one of the most eccentric and brutal figures in history this anime is for you. While he is certainly a main character, the show actually revolves around the awesome Furuta Sasuke. A lover of art, architecture, and the sheer beauty of pottery, specifically being tea cups and pots for his other obsession being tea ceremony's. Hyouge Mono follows his struggle as he tries to balance rising in the ranks of his group while still being completely obsessed with tea and the more fun aspects of culture.
The idea that an anime based on a dude loving tea is crazy enough but when you add in all the political stuff it becomes something even more special. For me anyway.... I do love my tea and I certainly love history! Add in some great characters, a snazzy look, a very interesting OP, and an interesting story and there you have an amazing anime of the year!
So yeah, go watch Hyouge Mono!
LONG LIVE TEA LOVERS!
