Like every year Spring gave us more anime we knew what to do with! Unlike winter I actually watched everything as it aired. Save for those kiddy shows that I'm not following being Bakugan, Inazuma Eleven, Jewelpet, and Metal Fight Beyblade. Saint Seiya had another season but since I haven't seen any of that franchise to begin with that wasn't watched either. A season 2 of Pretty Rhythm aired but since season 1 isn't even finished being subbed that wasn't watched. When subs appear I'll watch it for sure since I'm enjoying season 1 of it alright.
Some short anime called Koi-ken aired but I haven't even seen raws for this appear. I'm ok with that since it apparently is based on a popular dating sim which I'm so not all about. Space Battleship Yamato 2199 looks interesting but I'd prefer to watch the first stuff for that before jumping into something new. Ozma I didn't watch because I want to do some fun stuff with the Leijiverse stuff eventually.
There was actually very few shows that I didn't enjoy watching this time around. The amount of great shows to choose from was just that good! Even the shitty shows had a few good things to offer so I can't complain about them too much either. I still wish more people would watch Gon...
Best Show of spring is SO hard to choose but I'm going to go with Space Brothers for sure. Honestly if it wasn't for that cat anime I'm blogging it surely would have been #1 of 2012! SPACE!!! Polar Bear Cafe is a super close second for spring too.
Worst Show of spring is Natsuiro Kiseki because while it had an interesting enough idea, cute girls doing stuff just doesn't do it for me in a drama setting.

Surprise enjoyment: Ginga e Kickoff!! is a children's soccer show that should be watched by everyone! Mysterious Girlfriend X is a romance anime that I had no hopes for going in but ended up being one of the best romantic anime I've ever seen. Acchi Kocchi had great winter episodes which surprised me.
Surprise fail: Medaka Box ended up being quite lacking... I'll have more to say about it in the fall review.
Honorable mentions: Arashi no Yoru ni I'd like to see more of honestly. Lupin III ~Mine Fujiko to Iu Onna BOOBS! AKB0048 is fun but still lacking in awesomeness for me but at least there's a lot of SPACE! Shining Hearts has one of the most hilarious ED's ever! Eureka Seven Ao is finished finished now right?
On the Fourth Day of Christmas My True Love Gave to Me,
Four Video Game Feels,
Three Idol Shows,
Two Amazing Cartoons,
and The Best Boots in All of Anime
Putting down my WiiU/PS3/PSP/DS for a second to write this post! Yup I love gaming just as much as I do anime. This year we oddly had a lot of anime that touched on the gaming world which was pretty darn awesome.
Ixion Saga: Dimension Transfer
One moment you are sitting in your room playing one of your favourite games... The next moment you are falling through the sky in your chair and land on top of some dudes you were looking at while playing your video game! Yup another trapped inside a video game anime! This show gives me super happy feels. It is completely absurd at times and my day 1 post is a great example of that. I can't really tell people to go and watch this but if you are up for a laugh or a hundred you should probably check it out.
It's hard to say what I liked about this show because the first half of it was quite boring indeed. Especially those first few episodes. I really almost dropped it because of those. Something about these characters will draw you in though. Who would have thought that school kids playing a video game inside and outside of school would end up so interesting to me.
Instead of being trapped inside the game, Btooom transports the trap into real life. People get transported to an island and must fight the same ways they would if they were playing Btooom online. This is kinda most comparable to Battle Royal honestly and when it isn't focusing on the main girls issues the show is actually really enjoyable.
Sword Art Online
This show gets a lot of hate but I personally really enjoy this show. Sure it has a few dumb... ok really dumb moments here and there and the 2nd arc hasn't been as interesting as the first but it's been a really fun ride all the way through and the 2 main characters are COMPLETELY ADORABLE. So there.
Of all these I'd probably want to play Sword Art Online the most... Driland too of course!
While this is technically not taking place in a video game or based on one the feel is SUPER video gamey because you have chibi little people in a medieval setting dungeon crawling and kicking ass. I love this show even though it's kinda meh to sit through the episodes. I just like the feel it gives me!
There was a .hack movie that came out too but I don't have much to say about it. It was alright.
Accel World porky.
Blue and green for a colour scheme is pretty weird with these honestly. It just looks... Odd...
Every thought on these anime are from two episodes watched. These are all very short thoughts put together so it might be pretty jumbled but it's my thoughts as I watched each show.
Kuroko's Basketball - I've never really watched a true basketball anime before so this is really my first taste of basketball in anime. I gotta say the cute boys really make this watchable because I don't give a crap about basketball and honestly find the sport boring. If we get to see some really awesome kick ass matches later on in this series, it'll be worth sitting through these beginning episodes. Can't say I like the girl coach. She's pretty annoying. That confession/promise stuff on the rooftop was pretty good moral training for the team though. Kuroko sure is a strange one but his banter with Kagami is quite amusing. I feel sorry for the other boys since they don't shine out as much as these 2 do. Also up shirt shots in this basketball anime seem to be similar to a pantsu shot in pervy anime. Not sure if I like yet! XD
Natsuiro Kiseki - At least their skirts are cute for their school uniforms...
Medaka Box - Because of Sket Dance I have no interest in shows where students "help" each other. Maybe a character or 2 will grow on me like what happened with Sket Dance. Hopefully that'll make it at least tolerable to sit through.
Upotte - It's stupid but it makes me laugh sometimes. Girls "turning" into guns is way more interesting to me than girls turning into cans. Although I'm pretty disappointed that we don't get to see the transformation.
Zetman - I love the idea of hobo life. Living under a bridge with a bunch of other hobos. Gathering enough wood to build hobo houses! Too bad that ended quite poorly for all those poor hobos. The bathing scene where the kid realizes what "death" is was strange but pretty interesting that they choose to do it that way. I hope saving his striper lady friend doesn't become a huge theme of the show... But at the end of episode 2... Who knows what they got planned for her. I really like that the show time skipped to when the kids are slightly older to kick some serious bad guy ass.
Sengoku Collection - Episodic stories about lords from the Sengoku period transported into modern day... And turned into GIRLS. I've seen all of this done before but hell it's still entertaining. I would have liked it to be RotTK characters instead but Oda Nobunaga and friends is welcome too! I liked the first episode much more than the second one. It's really hard for me to care about idols that aren't from Macross.
Sankarea - It's oddly nice to see a cat boy in a recent anime instead of a cat girl. One that isn't a yaoi or filled with other cat people like Nekogami Yaoyorozu! The way the main character has a huge fetish for zombies in cute girl form really makes me think of an old web comic called Sexy Losers (Link very NSFW!) I can't really explain why these 2 are linked in my mind but they are. Episode 2 introduces more of the girls life and she has a very strange father. He likes to take pictures of her wearing almost no clothing and he's done this pretty much all her life... I don't even know what to make of this... This show is oddly very uncomfortable to sit though but I don't have any issues with death or anything like that. Again I can't really explain my reaction. I do love that the boys hideout is at a bowling alley! <3 But I don't like that Babu looks like my cat that passed away recently...
Accel World - I don't really have anything to say about this show. It was just as boring as a slice of life show for me which is sad.
