Fall anime Season 2 Round Up

Sequels you always either look forward to them or dread them. Some people just instantly put a season 2 in their won't watch pile right away if they really hated the first series. I've not gotten the hang of saying NO to a season 2 yet so I've always been stuck watching them. Although this season ALL (ok well one doesn't count see the bottom of the post) of the sequels I actually have been looking forward to. We have a total of 8 this fall! To Aru Majutsu no Index 2

So far this lives up to my expectations. A few laughs, some nice action, and a plot.

*Yumeiro Patissiere 2

More fun baking time. The focus now is growing up, looking at boys, and managing her own Sweets Shop. At least the food aspect is still there. It's still very fun to watch this adorable show each week for me. Only one total disappointment from this season so far though. THE OP IS TERRIBLE. I want my Happy Happy Macaroon back please. Although I'm sure this one will grow on me too...

*Sora No Otoshimono 2

Fan-service, comedy, harem. Generally these words are POISON to me. In the case of this anime though it's something special. The way they parody everything is just AWESOME. With the addition of a new Angelroid the laughs have been upped greatly. All episodes so far have had me laughing till I almost cried.

Hakuouki: Shinsengumi Kitan 2

I bet it'll be the same kind of meh as season 1 was. It is interesting but not interesting enough. Oh look it's the same. Meh. At least it's pretty.

*Arakawa Under the Bridge 2

This show seriously is the best comedy I've ever watched. Well one of them anyway. I love every character to bits! I love seeing the romance progress between out 2 main characters.

*Letter Bee 2

Lag cries still... But I won't scare off because of that. I love the way this anime looks and I always wonder if Niche will get to eat her Steakeeeee!

*Super Robot Wars: Original Generation 2

For some reason I didn't put this title on my preview post but oh well. I haven't played the video game it is based upon either and I actually hadn't seen it's season one or it's ova. So I watched those before starting The Inspector. I gotta say I was most impressed with season one so I looked forward to starting The Inspector and was not disappointed. I still feel I would like it even more if I did in fact play these games. Oh so many games around that I wish to play but will probably never get around to. OH WELL!

Motte To Love-Ru still not watching it just like I said. In truth I just haven't seen S1 and I don't see it as that big of hurry to get around to it.

*Inva­sion! Squid Girl AKA Shinryaku! Ika Musume

I still can't even begin... It's special but in a good kind of way. There's some flat comedy in there that just isn't funny but when it is being funny it's amazing. I love the way that the episodes are split up into 3 parts. Most shows just split into 2 like the current airing Panty and Stocking with Gar­ter­belt. I nearly died laughing in disgust when she barfed up her squid ink XD

 

Togainu no Chi

I'm having a hard time getting into this one. I like the idea about this "game" they play but I was burned in spring with Betrayal Knows My Name so I'm super weary of yaoi shows that try to have a "interesting" plot since every single one I've watched has been pretty bland. The ones that don't revolve around relationships anyway. Time will tell if this is win or flop.

Sore­demo Machi wa Mawatteiru

Quirky school girl maids. What more could most people ask for! It has it's ups and downs with comedy but it does have one of the best ED's of the season in my opinion since it really makes me laugh.

 

For­tune Arterial

No. I hate it. Yet another one I hate. Apparently there are vampires in this but I've just seen one creepy bishie being all flirty and weird. *shrugs* So not for me.

 

*You Are Umasou AKA Omae Umasou da na

This might just possibly be the best show of the season! Kuragehime sure is #1 in my heart but nothing can beat how totally awesome these delicious dinosaurs are!

Hyakka Ryoran Samurai Girls

When I watched the preview for this show a good month before airing I was intrigued but not overly impressed. The only thing that REALLY stood out about it was the unique and interesting way they did the censoring. Black splotches strewn about everywhere not only over the naughty bits but a common theme in the show it's self. I'm not too sure where it's going yet but it's fun to watch.

*Otome Yokai Zakuro

Super cute girls with animal ears and hot bishie men in military uniforms! Oh YES! I'm not sure about the story so far and can't wait to learn more. Jjust looking at the show is good enough for me right now.

Panty and Stocking with Gar­ter­belt

Ummmm. Ok well we got fun animation I suppose if you try not to think of Powerpuff Girls or Invader Zim. Mix in some really crude odd humour and this show is not for me. Generally I laugh at this stuff but I just can't get into it at all. This show seems to be love/hate with everyone this season. I'm kind of in the middle but more on the hate side of things.

*Star Driver

Takuto is the legendary Galactic Pretty Boy! Can I just say... AWESOME! All I can say about this right now is it feels greatly like a parody of many mecha anime out there. The main ones I feel they are doing is: G Gundam, TTGL, and Code Geass. This aspect makes it pretty fun to watch for me and I enjoy that girls singing even if I'm generally not huge on singing in anime. I suppose that may be a Macross shout out too.

Yosuga no Sora

No. I hate it. I don't care if people see the twins making out in their minds either. Just NO!

The World God only Knows / Kami Nomi zo Shiru Sekai

Apparently real life girls are just like VN girls..... Yeah... no.... I will admit that the demon girl is cute though.

First Impressions of Fall Anime Batch 1

Fall and Spring always have the most anime airing and there's generally always something to make people happy. Here are my first impressions on some fall anime so far. They are based on the first 3 episodes. Only one dislike in this batch! Woooo!

*Ironman

Well it actually came out this time hehe and I was impressed. It wasn't anything mind blowing but I'm totally entertained by Mr. Stark speaking Japanese XD. I kind of hate the reporter chick but maybe she'll get better as the show moves along... I really hope she does anyway. I'm very interested in this Zodiac enemy that Tony has to face delaying his retirement.

Just so people know I have not read any comic books or anything else relating to Ironman except those 2 movies that are out so I'm just sitting back and enjoying not comparing it to anything.

*Bakuman

Lots of people were excited about this anime emerging from it's manga pages and I can see why. I was afraid that it was going to fall flat for me but the characters pulled through wonderfully for me. I'm going to look forward to seeing these boys work to make their dream come true. The ending of episode one was priceless and episode two's ending left me feeling all warm and fuzzy inside.

MM!

Episode one didn't impress in the slightest. So what he gets off on getting whapped around a few times. Insert an angry school girl that will somehow cure him by hitting him around more... Yeah right... Seems like another excuse for a girl to physically abuse a man anime.

I can't say that as I watched the next 2 episodes my feelings changed to like either. It tried to make me like it though I'll give it that much. It got a little bit of a story with the chick who can't help to hit men because some senior of hers abused her. But that's not really all that interesting to me at all and honestly just makes things a little awkward for me. I think the anime it trying for drama but there's too much "comedy" there to take anything really seriously.

My Little Sis­ter Can’t Be This Cute / Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai

Yet another anime that was one that a lot of people were looking forward too. With episode one I couldn't really figure out why honestly. It was your typical anime obsessed person trying to keep it a secret from everyone but oh whoops someone finds out! I can't relate to that since I never once in my life kept liking something a secret except for maybe a crush on a boy LOL

Episode 2 though wow. It won me over because of the inserted extra characters. They made the show 10 times more funny and omg these children have TWO parents AND they appear in the show! How much more they will appear will depend where the story goes but that's ok as long as her new found anime friends stick around. Saori Makishima is love.

Psychic Detect­ive Yakumo / Shinrei Tantei Yakumo

I'm disappointed with this anime but it's not all that bad, since it could be worse. It's really slow and so far the story hasn't been all that interesting although there was one part at the very end of episode 1 that caught my attention. Can't say much else about the rest of the episodes. A lot of people have been comparing the show to Ghost Hound. Which I have haven't watched but I can totally see why they think that way looking at the synopsis. I'm worried that with this pacing it won't really go anywhere since it is scheduled to have 13 episodes. Unless things start to pick up this will be tossed into the potential anime pile but fell short.

~A Look at Anime to Come~ Fall 2010

Wait what happened to Summer 2010 you ask? Basically I was too busy with real life stuff. We threw an event that I made a lot of decorations for in July and since then there's been plenty of travel and birthday parties to tend to. Now that fall is on it's way and things are calming down again it's time to get back to being a hermit for me and watching current airing anime. Looking at this countdown site and some charts here and there, I've put together this little look of anime to look forward to for fall.

*Sora no Otoshi­mono 2

I love this show to bits. It's loaded with fan-service and the story is pretty darn cliche but I love all the characters to no end because they make me laugh.

*Yumeiro Patissiere 2

Ichigo Amino keeps up with her dream to be a great pastry maker! The show started off pretty meh to me but grew on me a lot as episodes flew by. Now I can't wait each week to see a new one. HAPPY HAPPY MACAROON FUN FUN GO!

*Arakawa Under the Bridge 2

The wacky cast is back for more adventures under the bridge they call home.

Hakuouki: Shinsengumi Kitan 2

S1 wasn't that great but it wasn't too terrible either. I'll watch it for the sake of completion.

Let­ter Bee 2

I hope there's less crying...

*A Cer­tain Magical Index 2

Unlike most, I really enjoyed Index 1 and disliked Railgun. So I'm quite pleased that this is being made and hope it's just as entertaining as its S1.

Motte To Love-Ru

I know nothing about this show as I haven't seen the first one and have no intention of getting around to it this year or ever probably. Maybe when I run out of anime. Could be sooner than later. Bottom line. This is the only anime I will not be watching.

*Psychic Detect­ive Yakumo AKA Shinrei Tantei Yakumo

Well his red eye there gives him a special ability to see ghosts and spirits! Makes me think of Natsume Yuujinchou but with more mystery attached to it because he wants to help them get to the afterlife.

Panty and Stocking with Gar­ter­belt

Idol angels sent to Earth to fight ghosts... The animation looks totally interesting so I'm game.

Bak­u­man

Lots of manga fans are looking forward to this one. I have a feeling it may fall flat for me. But if the characters win me over it could be amazing. Boys helping each other make a manga just doesn't seem all that interesting to me. But if it is mixed with great characters and some comedy, it'll win me over like Doujin Work did.

The World God only Knows AKA Kami Nomi zo Shiru Sekai

About a guy who is good at playing games and winning 2D girls hearts... Righto. This one has a lot of hype around it like Bakuman but I'm skeptical about this one not being all that great.

*Iron­man

Hope it actually comes out this time I'm a fan of the live action movies and read a few comic here and there. So it shall be interesting to see in come to life in anime form.

Makes me think of Bus Gamer but I think this will actually go somewhere. Probably not far but I can hope. Survival, crime, war. I hope for lots of action and blood. The, from what I can tell, all boy cast seems interesting to me as well XD

I like detectives so it was only a matter of time before moe got it's hands on it.

Star Driver: Kagayaki no Takuto

Interesting robots I'll say that much. Kinda creepy actually. The idea sounds so generic though but there's a lot of people from a tonne of series I love working on this so who knows.

Otome Yokai Zakuro

"It’s the Meiji Era in a slightly alternate Japan" This sentence is so hilarious to me because looking at the picture above... DO YOU REALLY HAVE TO SAY "slightly alternate" XD I'm not sure who the target audience is here because of the "fox" ear girls and pretty boys in uniforms. It probably will be slow and boring but could be interesting if given a chance.

I don't know about this one. It feels like it's going to be this seasons Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei but instead of a male it's a female. Throw in some otaku stuff of course.

Nougyou Musume AKA Agricultural Girls

 

This is going to be short 3 minute episodes about some girls that love to grow things. Hope it's good cause it looks adorable.

There's a bunch of ova's coming out but who knows when most really come out and well there's a lot of them that I haven't seen their series or really want to see. I'm looking at you Hidamari Sketch. >.<

At this point I have no idea which titles I'm going to blog. Suggestions welcome ^_^ Overall I'm kinda meh with this line up. I generally never complain about such things because there's always SOMETHING to look at. When only 2 new shows out of like 20 or so that I'm really interested in are airing it's kinda a let down.
