So I've decided to go to Anime Boston and like the last time I went, I want to dress up. Hopefully better than the first time... Though to be fair it was still pretty good considering. This will clear off goal #7 of my anime goals. I really need to fix that goals list because a lot of the stuff isn't doable for me anymore. Talk about biting off more than I could chew!
My ideas so far:
Sooooooo yeah! Which one does everyone think I should go with? Or maybe you have a better suggestion? As long as it isn't too crazy and actually possible I shall consider it! A poll is on the right for people to vote in.
Help me out here!
Fall is just finishing up at this point. Battle Spirits and a few other kiddy shows weren't watched. I didn't touch the latest season of To Love-Ru due to not having seen any of the rest. I decided NOT to touch Little Busters and Hidamari Sketch to save myself some sanity. I knew I wouldn't enjoy these so why keep going with something I know I'll hate! CHII IS LEARNING!
Gintama started up again but we only got a few new episodes to sink out teeth into. They were great episodes too! I wish we got more but we will be getting some come January sometime so at least there's that to look forward to. I find it interesting that they are airing re-runs in the meantime! Initial D Fifth Stage started and it is as good as ever. So nice to see more of this show being animated! A few other specials were aired but have stalled so I won't bother talking about them too much since they didn't leave an impression on me. A show that looked cute Haitai Nanafa aired but never got any subs along with another cute one by the name of Picchipichi. I will watch these if they ever surface.
Best Show of fall is Shin Sekai Yori hands down. I can't wait for more! I'd make the top anime Chiisan Oji-san but that's a pretty short show that no one else has heard of anyway. Check it out, it is about a little old man!
Worst Show of fall is Seitokai no Ichizon 2. Yup it still sucks. But it feels like a cop-out making it the worst show of fall since no one watched it. So I'll make Onii-chan Dakedo Ai Sae Areba Kankeinai yo the "winner" for the title.
Here's my big list of Best to Worst shows of fall 2012:

Surprise enjoyment: Busou Shinki was a lovely surprise since it's ova kinda sucked. Btooom started off kinda lame but got better then the ending happened... I'd still say that I enjoyed the show overall though. Girls und Panzer TANKS! That's about it... Wooser no Sono Higurashi I ended up liking a whole lot more than I though I would. Probably because I blogged it. I didn't get a lot of what was going on but that's ok because it was pure randomness!
Surprise fail: Code:Breaker kinda took me by surprise by how much it sucked bawls. Robotics;Notes has let me down but it's not really too much of a surprise. I can't decide if I like or hate the otaku chick...
Honorable mentions: Suki-tte Ii na yo. actually turned out to be a pretty decent show after the first few episodes but still pretty forgettable too. Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo keeps on being entertaining. I'm not sure how it keeps happening! Medaka Box 2 as the same score as season 1 but I enjoyed this season slightly more than the first one. I kinda hope we get more of it. Zetsuen no Tempest has a lot of talking but it just happens to be the kind of talking I like a lot. Can't wait to see where this one goes.
Honestly this year has been pretty slow anime wise for me. I got a PS3 for Christmas and lets just say I've been very happy with said purchase. Final Fantasy XIII and XIII-2 have been my obsessions along with Dynasty Warriors Gundam I and II. I need to get III still but II has been keeping me quite busy even though I don't like it as much as I. How I don't have Dynasty Warriors 7 yet is a little mind baffling but all I can say is SOON.
Anyway enough about video games as that could easily fill a whole post and well I might just do that at a later date. I've honestly barely watched any anime this year series wise. I'm always in the mood for a one off ova or movie though so that's what this post is mostly about. I did finally watch Souten Kouro this year since subs were finally completed for it. It totally filled my RotK need for a while. Having the story revolve around Cao Cao was rather awesome and really makes me look forward to the last RotK title I have yet to watch, Koutetsu Sangokushi. I can only hope that one day the 2010 remake RotK series will be completely subbed. There's only so much enjoyment I can get from watching it raw after all.
The only other series I've completed so far that hasn't been currently airing was Galaxy Angel X and A. I watched Galaxy Angel and Z for my not so secret santa project so I figured I should complete the series. I still have to watch Galaxy Angel Rune though but I'll get around to it eventually. Rune apparently does things differently since X and A were pretty much the same as the first 2 series. I'm looking forward to Rune simply because it'll be a different take on the Galaxy Angel stuff which will be refreshing. It's a good series overall but nothing amazing either.
The fact that 3 big shounen series I watch and a lot of others as well, ended recently was a little strange. Beelzebub and Bleach sure I can live without airing anymore. I liked both shows alright but I won't miss watching them every week either. Gintama though... We just got it back and they take it away from us again! I'll look forward to when it comes back because I have faith that it certainly will. I'll at least look forward to more movies~
I've started watching Toriko again because my boyfriend was driving me nuts asking when we were going to watch more. Since I planned on blogging this (and I still do I swear) I didn't want to watch any of the episodes because then the chances of me blogging earlier episodes really start to disappear if I watch ahead of where I left off blogging. I gotta say I completely love this series. It shows a great love for food which I certainly share and I bet most people can relate to as well. I love food eating reactions! Toriko does this very well honestly and makes me remember just how awesome Yakitate!! Japan was when it came to food reactions too. I'm not 100% caught up with the series yet but I'm currently on episode 33 and plan to be caught up fully in the next few days.
- Sora no Otoshimono - This was a great recap movie. Everything about it made me smile and laugh. I can't wait for Season 3 to air.
- Suite Precure - Suite is my favourite Pretty Cure title to date so it should be no surprise that the Suite Movie has become my favourite Pretty Cure movie. But then again all the Pretty Cure movies are pretty great in their own ways.
- Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos - I don't know why people were expecting super duper amazing plot and such with this movie. After all it was just a one off random story. I went in expecting awesome shounen action and that is exactly what I received and enjoyed a great deal.
- Recollections of a Certain Pilot - This movie doesn't really do anything new or amazing but I'm a sucker for planes in anime~
- Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kira - I don't even know why I watch these Higurashi ova's anymore... Guess I just love the series that much.
- Steins;Gate - This ova was so darn cute by the end because the very end is what made it so awesome. I'm looking forward to that movie they'll be doing.
- Fantascope Tylostoma -
- Hotarubi no Mori e - A lovely short ova about a girl falling in love with a spirit. It's a little sad but oh so lovely at the same time.
- Gyo - GASHUNK! It was a great ova of a great anime. I know a lot of people were disappointed with it but I honestly can't figure out why. It did everything perfectly!
- Nakedyouth - I've actually watched this a few years ago but it floated up on my radar again and made me remember just how lovely a one off 10 minute work can be. Almost anything that explores youth and sexuality is always a treat to watch.
I've actually not watched a lot that finished airing during the winter season. I plan on watching them all but with it looking quite meh according to my tastes I decided I would skip watching it while it currently aired and wait till they were finished. I did watch a few I knew I would enjoy or that just happened to be Season continuations of shows I have already seen all of. I tried watching Another and Mouretsu Pirates while they aired/airing but sadly Mouretsu Pirates just didn't do it for me in the 3 episodes I sat though and just made me angry. Another is a horror anime so those are generally best marathoned instead of watching one episode a week. I do plan on watching both still along with everything but these are my priority anime from winter that have finished: Another, Black Rock Shooter, Nisemonogatari, Senki Zesshou Symphogear, and Rinne no Lagrange. If there's one you think I'm missing that I should get to asap leave a comment and I'll consider.
- Brave10 - I love these kind of anime. You know the ones with pretty boys and girls whooping each others asses... Yeah those... <3
- Daily Lives of High School Boys - HILARIOUS~
- Thermae Romae - HILARIOUS~
- Zero no Tsukaima 4 - I'm sure an ova will pop up for this at some point. But it's good to have it finished for fans.
- Recorder to Randoseru - a short episode series about a small girl who is in high school and her large brother that is in grade school. I've oddly enjoyed this series and an oddly glad that it is continuing into the spring season.
- Gokujo - another short episode series. This one is about girls being dirty and gross. Very pervy too. It's charming in it's own strange way.
- NatsumeYuujinchou Shi - Season 5 where?! <3
- Tantei Opera Milky Holmes 2 - meh
- Poyopoyo Kansatsu Nikki - still airing!!! ROUND CAT IS ROUND~
So far I've only watched one SPRING 2012 anime. That being Space Brothers of course. It was the #1 anime I was looking forward to and it certainly didn't disappoint me which was delightful. I might try blogging it but well we all know how terrible I am with keeping up to date with those. 😛
There were a lot of anime that aired this spring! The only ones I didn't watch were the long running continuations of shounen aimed at a younger audience: Inazuma Eleven GO, Beyblade: Metal Fury, Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal, Digimon Xros Wars 2, and Danball Senki. I haven't seen any of these series except for Digimon but even then I only made it through the first 2 seasons before the 2010 reboot of the franchise. There was one shoujo title in there that I would actually like to watch someday called Jewelpet Sunshine. But first I want to watch the other 2 seasons of it...
With so many shows airing during the spring it should be no surprise that my favourite anime of the year started airing. Yes, Gintama 2 is my #1 for the year 2011. It's great to see all the characters back and getting into wacky situations! That space arc was AMAZING!
If Hyouge Mono actually had timely subs it might be in this spot but I can't put it there comfortably since I've only been able to watch 10 episodes from a 39 episode series. Hyouge Mono is certainly awesome though and more people should watch it!
Best Show of spring aside from Gintama because that's #1 of the year would be Toriko. He's a manly man out to find the most delicious food. It doesn't matter if he has to kill it himself! Just look at those arms! I plan to re-start blogging this series in the new year so look out for those! GUTS GUTS GUTS!
Worst Show of spring is Hoshizora e Kakaru Hashi... Harem... I don't need to say more. I hate most harem cookie cutter shows. Especially ones that come from eroge games...
Here's my big list of Best to Worst shows of spring 2011:

- Hoshizora e Kakaru Hashi 1/10
Surprise enjoyment: Steins;Gate took me by storm. I didn't plan on watching it at first but a friend convinced me to start it. It was like a super win with this series because I really thought it wasn't going to be good, like at all. Astarotte's Toy was pretty much written off by everyone. I too doubted it at first. After all when you see "Semen and 10 years old" in a first synopsis of the series it's hard not to be judgmental.
Surprise fail: Deadman Wonderland while it still gets a passing mark from me, it really needed more for it to be truly awesome.
Honorable mentions: Ao no Exorcist is awesome and no one can tell me otherwise. I hope we get more someday and I can't wait for that movie. Tiger & Bunny should have been a show I fell in love with right from the start. Somehow that didn't happen at first. It took a while for all the characters to grow on me too long for me to truly enjoy the show. Pretty Rhythm Aurora Dream is SO girly but I can't stop watching it. I love ice skating and wanted to be one when I was a kid. I should probably write a diary post about it or something~

I watch all the long running shows with my boyfriend. Sometimes he's really into it, other times... not so much. Here's all our thoughts on these 10 long running shows that we have been watched all year long.
Note: There might be some spoilers in our thoughts. So read at your own risk!
chii: Honestly I think I block a lot of Naruto stuff out. I barely can think back to much of what happened this year in it and what I can remember I hate. But well, if this happened this (spoiler alert) year that was something special. I hate you Naruto fillers!
Tamerax: When they aren't doing stupid filler episodes, this show is full of awesome. The store is great and I really enjoy the characters (except for the rapping brother guy... he can eat a wang and choke on it to shut up). When they ARE doing stupid filler episodes, this show is like pulling teeth that has already been lodged into my anus (under mysterious and no doubt unpleasant reasons). Point is, those suck....
Gintama & Sketdance
chii: KYAAAAAAAA Gintama is BACK! Sket Dance is the poor man's Gintama. It has ok characters but that's about it. It's really hit or miss with the comedy and I can't stand that it's about high school kids. My favourite character is Switch because he's pretty unique among all the others. The few crossover episodes they did with each series were priceless.
Tamerax: I enjoy these shows but Gintama is definitely better of the two because they just do more weird and wacky stuff. When they do actual main story line (serious episodes), they are awesome and serious but still keep a lot of the funny aspects. When Sket Dance does it, I just don't feel right. Also, Sket Dance doesn't have nearly as many poo and fart jokes and let's be honest, those are the true essence of comedy.
chii: GUTS GUTS GUTS! Now that I have that out of the way... I'll just say that I REALLY PROMISE TO START BLOGGING THIS SHOW AGAIN COME THE NEW YEAR! Embarrassingly I've only watched the first umm 2 episodes... But I can say without a doubt that it is one of my absolute favourite anime.
Tamerax: I can't say anything about this show because chii won't ever watch them. Instead, here are some ASCII boobs: (.)(.)
chii: At first I wasn't really in love with the show. We watched the jump special and it was pretty good so we decided to give the series a try. It starts off how imo Kateikyoushi Hitman Reborn! does, kinda crappy for the first few episodes then all of a sudden it hits you with awesome and you end up looking forward to it each week. The characters grow on you and you start to actually care what happens to them. After a while it won't bother you that the kid never wears pants!
Tamerax: I liked the show and then I got bored and then I started to like it again and then trailed off...just like Reborn. I was starting to get interested again with the "knights" story arc. For some reason, this is the one anime that makes me sit back and go, "these high school students sound like they are in there 30s".
chii: I didn't think I would enjoy a little boys show about yet another cardfighting game... 50 episodes in and I'm still ready for more. I love the OP and ED's to the show too. Oh and the cute cat that lives at the game center is pure love.
Tamerax: ...this makes want to play Magic again. That's about it.
chii: We got a real treat near the beginning of the year I believe involving that main plot behind the show. It was pretty darn awesome. Movie 15 came out and it was the longest to date. I really enjoyed it.
Tamerax: TELL HER ALREADY! @#%@#%@#$^!!!
chii: Back when this show started in 2009 I'd say we got through about 20 episodes before we stopped. It wasn't because the show sucked. It was more because I wanted the episodes to build up! I find that marathoning long shows like this to be the best way to consume them. I loose too much detail if I have to wait week by week. This drives the bf crazy because he wants the episodes every week! HAPPY is awesome and the arc that focused on him and Charle that just ended was amazing.
Tamerax: This one actually took me a bit by surprise because it took a while for it to grow on me. As the arcs progressed, I enjoyed it more and more. I really like the characters even if there are like 3252346346 of them but unlike One Piece, most of them don't have some annoying aspect that makes me want to hate them. I also like that they don't drag out plot questions for too too long. Most questions get resolved in a few episodes or so... most of them. I like that.
chii: urg... There is only one thing that is memorable to me from this year and that has to do with Gin. I hate how they always build up Aizen as the baddest dude of all but always shrug it away quickly when shit finally goes down. Bleach has become a show I still watch because the bf wants to. I hate Bleach fillers more than Naruto ones... At least we got a time skip to counter some filler that I'm sure the Bleach people would have loved to make us watch instead...
Tamerax: It felt like we waited for SO long for the big battle to happen... all the training and BS filler episodes... just to have it done and over with in what boiled down to like 5-6 episodes (remember they kept starting the battle and then buggering off for some crap filler arc for a while and then come back again). If they are gonna do anything not directly story related, do more fun episodes like the beach one from a while back. At least the arc with the personified swords had some fun moments. Do that more.
chii: This was an emotional roller coaster all year long. I'm so glad the crew is back together now! What a time skip that was! Ace ;__;
Tamerax: Finally back together. Despite my slagging of it above, this is one of my all time favourite shows. Still... that Ace bit was unexpected and well... kinda crappy. Not as crappy as the filler arc that came after with them all as a kids... bleh. I think with all that emotional energy devoted to watching everyone try to save Ace... well, they could have actually done it. uh... spoiler alert 😛
