Make chii Laugh
I'm a pretty picky person when it comes to what makes me laugh but the following I can't sit through without cracking a smile or having to pause because I'm laughing way too hard. Here are my top 15 comedy anime!
- Hare+Guu
- Gintama
- Strawberry Marshmallow
- Astro Fighter Sunred
- Yakitate!! Japan
- Detroit Metal City
- Cromartie High School
- Excel Saga + Puni Puni Poemy
- Arakawa Under the Bridge
- Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu
- Minami-ke
- Hetalia
- Kyoran Kazoku Nikki
- Legend of Koizumi
- Ryofuko-chan
Bonus anime is Kuruneko! It's 2 minute shorts, it's about cats, it's HILARIOUS! Especially if you REALLY like cats.
Clearly I like a lot of slapstick humour and really out there stuff. Hare+Guu was so strange half the time I didn't even understand why it was funny but that it just was! A brilliant weird comedy that totally deserves to be at the top of my list. Gintama makes fun of everything, has a super cast, and is really well written. Strawberry Marshmallow to this day I will always re-watch episode 6. IT NEVER GETS OLD! Yes, even I can like school slice of life comedies. Astro Fighter Sunred combines superheros that suck with wonderful monsters and has cooking lessons in some episodes! The lessons might be simple sure, but it's the hilarious thought that counts. Who would have thought an anime about BREAD would be so hilarious. Yup Yakitate!! Japan yet again combines comedy and food, 2 things that go together very well.
Detroit Metal City won me over with its way out there crudeness, yet it has a wonderful soft side to it that the main protagonist does perfectly. Who would have thought you could tame your inner beast and let it out through music! Cromartie High School is about many strange boy delinquents gathered in one school. They sometimes don't quite know what being a delinquent is all about. Simply hilarious! Excel Saga + Puni Puni Poemy are both wacky and rely on being super random. You'll be laughing or holding your head because of how hyper it is. Arakawa Under the Bridge combines a lot of strange people and tosses a seemingly ordinary man right in the middle of the weirdos. Like Gintama it is very well written and has an amazing cast to back it up. Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu is a random comedy right in the middle of the FMP series, that is quite series for the majority of the time. I personally think people should watch Fumoffu after the first series to really get a good laugh out of it. You'll want your very own Bonta-kun after viewing.
Minami-ke follows 3 sisters as they go through school and the strange situations they get into. Yet another slice of school life comedy I like! It had a lovely charm to it because they aren't all the same age so we get a lot of different kind of jokes. Hetalia is personified countries of the world. That's just too good for me not to find hilarious. (BL Pairings aside XD) Kyoran Kazoku Nikki takes 8 very VERY different "people" and turns them into one great big random messed up family. Darkness lurks around every corner for each character but aside from that very hilarious. Legend of Koizumi was just wow. They took Hetalia in a totally different direction that turned out to be intense but it a very good and funny way. Ryofuko-chan is a knock off of Romance of the Three Kingdoms which I'm very much a fan of. They took my favourite character, Lu Bu, and turned him into a young girl that REALLY likes breasts! It was just way too funny for me to handle at times.
So there you have it! My favourite comedies! If you know of something that I should love and haven't watched please do suggest it. I love to laugh!

Top 15 Studio DEEN TV Shows
digitalboy brings chii back from the dead with a studio post! I first saw his J.C. Staff post and encouraged him to do more saying that I would do so as well. Well here we are! I personally love lists to no end and when they pop up on blogs I can't help but to read. Even if I don't agree with it I'll still read it and be greatly entertained. The only thing I don't like about some lists is having to order them. Making them is the easy part but putting them in order from favourite to least favourite? Ick! That takes a lot of brain power and heartache in some cases.
Studio DEEN has a lot of my top 100 favourites and a lot of favourites that just didn't fit on a top 100 list! Sure some of their stuff isn't all that pretty to look at but honestly that doesn't bother me. Ironically I'm not an animation snob that one might associate with an anime fan. Anime being animation and all and generally that's what is suppose to really impress people, with how pretty it looks. I just want great stories and a decent enough ending. I want to be entertained to the max and honestly all these shows have done so for me in one way or another. Some even don't look that bad!
Consisting of 3 series, the first one being the longest at 51 glorious episodes. 6 ova's and specials and I can't only hope that there will be more someday! I really should pick up the manga someday. I can't get enough of this wacky police force. The chicks in it are total bad asses and their male counterparts match them quite well. It's another one of those adult slice of life series that I just can't get enough of!
We have 2 amazing series plus a bunch of OVA's (one coming this summer YAY) what more could I ask for? Great mystery and just the right amount of cute girls messing around in blood.
6 lovely normal everyday girls living out their very normal lives are about to be touched by the Diamond Dust tale. "When the moisture in the air freezes on a chilly day, the air seems to sparkle and shimmer. It is said that to see the diamond dust in its glory means that lovers will stay together forever, friendships will flourish, and dreams will be realized." Each story was rather touching and is just pure awesome. This is not generally an anime that people would peg me to enjoy but it's one of the best I've ever seen.
I like personified countries what can I say? It's super funny too and only 5 minute episodes. I love short series like this! I own mini figurines of 9 characters thanks to my boyfriend as an awesome birthday gift 2 years ago! This series is awesome. Go Canada XD
The best yuri toned anime by far. (As long as I don't count Puni Puni Poemy anyway) More thoughts here. I've since re-rated this anime 9/10 despite what my review says.
Umineko follows Higurashi with more twists and turns in a wonderful kind of mysterious way. It also pushes me closer and closer to actually playing the VN's but I will probably just end up waiting for a Season 2 of it instead. It will happen since that seems to be what DEEN is oh so good at!
Jointed with Studio Gallop, Studio DEEN actually did the "crappy" part of the series but did the amazing OVA's that everyone loves so much. I personally enjoyed even the filler part of Kenshin that they were part of. I enjoyed Trust & Betrayal alright but not to the extent that most others have. Still a great samurai story and worth the watch. Very excited about the upcoming new series attached to this wonderful franchise.
Everyone has fond memories of their first of anything. Sometimes anyway lol... Gravitation was my first yaoi series and honestly I know it's really not that great but I've watched it about 5+ times now and I can easily say that nostalgia just won't let me let go of this series. The music is crappy but the drama between those 2 boys is just something else. Not to mention all the other boys in the show! Oh yaoi!
First yaoi followed by one of the best yaoi I've ever seen. I can't really explain WHY I enjoyed it as much as I did but well yeah, chii has a BL fangirl inside her that sometimes (rarely actually) escapes~
Ok I know most people actually really dislike this series but I was highly entertained by it through and through. The complaints from it I believe were that it didn't live up to the manga (snort) but since I don't generally read manga I was perfectly ok with how things turned out in the end. I mean really, 2 souls in one body? I'll say awesome to that!
One of my first blind anime purchases and I was not disappointed. I really need to re-watch it actually as it's been 10 years now since I last watched it. I should watch the series that comes after the OVA but well something just keeps stopping me from doing so.
I first watched this series with my best friend then continued it with a past boyfriend to finish it off. Everything about it just makes me remember the "good old days" and I'd love to sit down again someday and watch it again. I'd turn into a lesbian for Shampoo.
I've actually only seen Season 1 of this series so it may move up in this list a lot once I do. But the first season was highly enjoyable and I actually plan on blogging it soon. (lol I always say this but I seriously will) I love supernatural shows like this and Ai is a delightful tragic girl that I enjoy watching oh so much.
Cheesy but fun. And honestly "Archer" is dead sexy. The Unlimited Blade Works rekindled my love for the series. But I wouldn't really recommend watching UBW before you watch the series.
"For a fee, they will recover any lost or stolen item for a client with "a 100% success rate". That cockiness is what makes me love these 2 men so much. They have awesome superpowers and end up fighting a total awesome bad dude that seriously kicks ass for a baddie.
Other fun information
DEEN shows that I've watched that are awesome too but missed the list: Groove Adventure Rave, Amatsuki, Giant Killing, Nurarihyon no Mago, and Kore wa Zombie desu ka?
DEEN shows I still have to watch that will make this list a top 20 list eventually: Maison Ikkoku, Kyo Kara Maoh, Zipang, Eat-Man, and Touka Gettan
DEEN shows I still have to watch but have NO interest in actually watching them anytime soon: Princess Princess, Amaenaideyo, Shining Tears X Wind, Suteki Tantei Labyrinth, Vampire Knight, and Zenki
DEEN shows I simply can't stand: King of Bandit Jing, Mouse, Seitokai no Ichizon, Full Moon wo Sagashite, Yumeria, and Twilight Q (All are actually on my top 100 hate list)
DEEN shows I was really disappointed by: Shion no Oh, Fruits Basket, Maria-sama, Hatenkou Yuugi, and Code E/Mission E
Angel's Egg is a stand alone movie that DEEN did that is one of the best and most spectacular anime movies I've watched. If I included it in my top list above by joining Umineko with Higurashi (technically I could) it would take spot #6 easily.
More studio lists to come! Up next J.C. Staff! (because everyone else has one already LOL)

Tuesday Tally Week 9-13 March 1 to April 4 Month Long Review
So yup it's been a while. Why? Partially because I just kind of lost interest in blogging for the winter season because of personal issues I've been having. I also mostly only watched Detective Conan this month too even though that's not what this post will look like by the end... I completely caught up with Conan and I am most pleased with that because I love it a lot and put it off for far too long. Much like a lot of the other series I finally ended up getting around to as well.
March 1-3
Dragon Slayer,Devil Hunter YohkoOVAs
Lupin Season 1 episodes 1-23
Overall: I found Lupin to be quite fun honestly. The gags got a little old and the OP was completely hilarious let alone the music throughout the series but it was great fun to watch. I enjoyed watching Lupin doing his thing and seeing how he would get out of certain circumstances. I'm going to start watching the movies and specials next followed by season 2 and season 3. I think I've put off The Castle of Cagliostro for long enough!
Kyoran Kazoku Nikki episodes 1-26
Overall: This series starts off wacky and just keeps on going full on right to the end. It was another title on Digiboy's top list that I wanted to watch. He said that I should like it if I watched it in the right mood. Oh how correct he was. If I wasn't in the mood for weird and crazy I probably would have hated this but I was and enjoyed it a great deal. I loved how there were a lot of OP's and ED's. I still can't pick a favourite let alone a favourite character. I'll look forward to watching this again someday.
March 4-6
G-On Riders episodes 1-14
Overall: I think I said enough about this anime here.
Detective Conan episodes 236-293
March 7-9
Area 88 OVA
Area 88 episodes 1-12
Overall: I fell completely in love with this series and actually plan to watch it again soon. I love aviation in anime (thank you Macross Plus) and this certainly had a lot of it. The music in the series was electronic music based which interested me greatly. It made me feel almost like I was watching Macross Plus over again! The lead characters are great and the plot is pretty darn interesting.
AD Police Files OVA
AD Police episodes 1-12
Overall: This was meant to be watched after Bubblegum but I just wanted to watch it first for some reason. The AD Police take care of rouge boomers. Lots of action and very likable characters. The ova is one off stories where the series actually follows a somewhat straight plot.
The Fashion Boy is Cool OVA
George to Gerald no Bouken Movie
Overall: 2 rival mice set off on an epic journey to see who can get the "Dragon of Light" first and be the next leader of the mice world! It's fun and childish and full of adventure. Great to watch with kids.
Durarara Specials
Shounen Sarutobi Sasuke, Shisha no Sho Movies
March 10-13
Detective Conan episodes 294-311
Bubblegum Crisis, Bubblegum Crash OVAs
Overall: Finally getting around to these 2 series that I should have watched years ago but put off for unknown reasons. Maybe so I'd still have awesome stuff to watch now who knows! I greatly enjoyed both of these and wonder just when we'll get boomers in real life.
Ikkitousen episodes 1-13
Overall: I was told I probably wouldn't like this series by a lot of people because of the fanservice involved. THEY ALL WERE VERY WRONG! I simply fell in love with it right from the start. It was hard figuring out who was who in relation to ROTK at first but after a while it got pretty easy. I can see why they would give the girls paper clothing to get ripped off during all the awesome battles because that just adds to the hilarity of it all honestly. I like strange adaptations like this a lot and this one being based on something I really enjoy made it all the more interesting. Seeing some of the characters that are male as chicks = win.
Mokei Senshi Gunpla Builders Beginning G OVA
Overall: This short ova was about building Gundams! I laughed at it at first but really got into it when it got all futuristic with how you could get in this machine and fight with the Gundam you built like a kids card game. It reminded me of Angelic Layer but WAY more awesome because well... I like mecha not dolls.
Mahou no Tenshi Creamy Mami vs Mahou no Princess Minky Momo Short
Overall: Watching this REALLY makes me want to watch both of these series a lot. Older magical girl is oh so awesome.
March 14-19
Detective Conan episodes 312-426, One Piece episode 489, Fairy Tail episode 68, Naruto Shipooden episodes 200-202, Bleach episodes 310-312
Mnemosyne OVA
Overall: I'm glad I finally got around to watching this. I enjoy the idea about this anime but I found that it tried too hard for shock value with all the sex and violence. Generally I'm all for that but they really did try too hard in what could have been a very enjoyable title. Hype disappoints me yet again but I don't regret watching it.
March 20-21
Crying Freeman OVA
Overall: Just lol really. I finally sat down and watched this after only seeing a few parts here and there when I was younger. My bf actually has a VHS tape of it downstairs and just plain out warned me that it was bad. But the thing is... It's not all that bad but it's certainly not meant to be taken seriously. I'll never forget Freeman threatening a womans nipples or how he always had to battle naked for some reason. But if you have a killer tattoo like his why wouldn't you wanna fight naked!?
Adventures of the Polar Cubs, Run White Wolf Movies
Detective Conan episodes 427-469
Mitsudomoe episodes 6-8+special
Overall: Weird that there was only 8 episodes made for a season 2 but ok. It's still pretty hit and miss with me but the points that made me laugh REALLY made me laugh so it was enjoyable when that happened. The special is probably my favourite part of the entire series aside from the barrel episode in season 1. How can I say no to sweet potatoes in the last episode too.
Heartcatch Pretty Cure Movie
Overall: Pretty much the same feeling I got when I watched all the other pretty cure movies. It was a long episode with a decent plot and a lot of cute magical girl action. I think Heartcatch needs another movie though just because it's my favourite Pretty Cure series now.
Love Position, Legend of the Halley Movie
Overall: I really enjoyed this movie a lot. I was interested because this was apparently the first original animated video produced by Tezuka Productions. I loved Hi no Tori so I was pretty sure I'd enjoy this. It has similar themes and the main girl in it is so adorable. I highly recommend people check this one out.
March 22-24
Detective Conan episodes 470-514
Bubblegum Crisis 2040 episodes 1-26
Overall: Watching this re-make of the ova's was rather fun. I still can't decide which I like more but I think it might be this series. I just found it a little more fleshed out and ended well. Not to mention we randomly got to go into SPACE at the end. Instant win!
Black Lagoon OVA episode 4
Overall: Episode 5 now please.
Haiyou Shorts episodes 1-12
Overall: I still don't know why they made more of this...
Hetalia World Series Shorts episodes 1-48
Overall: I didn't find this series as fun as the first season but it had it's moments here and there. I'll have to check out the movie soon.
March 25-31
Detective Conan episodes 515-609
Overall: Finally caught up with this and I gotta say I'm most pleased with how the plot has progressed. This series really will go on forever considering we only get plot episodes here and there. But they come at just the right time when we are itching to get more info and starting to loose interest in the one off case episodes. I can't wait to see where they'll go next.
Silent Mobius Movies 1-2
Overall: Ok wow. These movies sucked SO HARD. They were nothing like I expected honestly and now I'm debating not watching the series that I assume will try to make sense of it all. We all know I'll watch it anyway though... So here's to hoping that it doesn't blow too.
Samurai Shodown Movie
Art of Fighting, Samurai Spirits, Ogre Slayer OVA
Ikkitousen: Dragon Destiny episodes 1-12+Specials
Overall: This one focuses on Liu Bei whom I have always really enjoyed too since he's always the main character in ROTK series for the most part being one of the "good" guys. Seeing him portrayed as a weak bookworm lady though was rather odd. But Guan Yu made up for that being in LOVE with him XD This was the most yuri undertone series of all the Ikkitousen franchise.
Ikkitousen: Great Guardians episodes 1-12+Specials
Overall: This season is my favourite and that's because they focused on Lu Bu for this one. He's probably my favourite ROTK character aside from Zhou Yu.
Ikkitousen: Xtreme Xecutor episodes 1-12+Specials
Overall: Bring on season 5! LOL
April 1
Yu Yu Hakusho episodes 1-29
Overall: Super fun so far. It's like Hunter x Hunter but not as good mixed with some Bleach because of the supernatural effect. Most people find generic shounen fighting anime to be pretty boring but honestly it's pretty great if that's all you are looking for. It also helps that this one has a decent amount of plot but never gets in the way of the fighting. The version I have is pretty low quality but I'm just too lazy to get a better copy right now.
April 2-3
Tide Line Blue episodes 1-13
Overall: I'll have a review coming shortly for this. Worth watching but nothing overly special either. Still really fun though.
Macross Frontier Movie
Overall: I think I enjoyed this a little more than the whole series put together. I like movie compilations for series a lot, if they are good that is. This one was pretty darn good but I'd still recommend that people watch the series first for all those other little goodies that they left out of the movie. Some of it was rushed but they got all the real important stuff in there that anyone should really care about. I can't wait for the next movie!
Detective Conan Movie 13
Overall: By far the best Conan movie that they have made so far simply because it was about the plot and not just a one off story. I highly suggest not watching it unless you are past episode 500 or somewhere along those lines in the series.
Gintama Movie
Overall: So glad to have finally seen this. Sure it's something I have already seen already in the series but the intro and the end were SO worth it for more laughs. I hope they make all of these "serious" arcs into movies eventually!
X-Men episode 1
Overall: KYAAAAAAAA It looks so awesome! Wolverine actually looks like what he's suppose to now! This was the Marvel adaptation I was looking forward to a lot and since the first episode didn't disappoint I'm hoping the rest will be great! The OP gave me goosebumps after I viewed it too!
April 4
Yu Yu Hakusho episodes 30-53
Overall: Looking forward to more fighting and strange monster creatures!

The Most Anime Birthday I’ve Ever Had
So on the 16th of January it was my birthday and I wasn't expecting anything at all to be honest. Really just expected a quiet day alone with anime and my boyfriend. We started out by watching Naruto for about 6 hours. LOL that's right Naruto on my birthday. I don't even overly enjoy the show (don't hate it either) but my boyfriend likes it a lot. I made a post about it here. I haven't been wanting to watch anymore Naruto since then either haha.
I made my character of the day post about my favourite anime character ever, Yang Wen-li. <3 (great picture from ghostlightning's blog) He's super awesome and I hope more people watch Legend of the Galactic Heroes. I actually plan on re-watching it sometime. Probably not this year though unless I manage to get through more of my other anime goals. Mononoke, Kaiba, My-Hime (plus all relations), Simoun (all enjoyed by me!) and started Naruto is all I've done so far off of that list. I'm going to start watching Nodame Cantabile very soon because of the current airing Finale. I plan on making February Macross month. So expect a lot of Macross posts in the near future.
Anywho back to the birthday. After all that Naruto and blogging I went to sleep. Woke up to someone at the door. It was a friend from Montreal that my boyfriend invited down to celebrate with us which was a super awesome surprise because he brought beer and gifts.
So after bumming around for the day at home we went out to a nice Thai dinner where another friend from the area meet us. She brought a lovely bottle of wine as a gift to me that was literally dressed in jeans. Has a cute pocket and everything.
After that delicious dinner we returned home to watch some movies and open presents
I went to the computer to check my e-mail and messages only to have all the lights turned off and people started singing "Happy Birthday" and a cake entered the room. This cake right away made me laugh. I'm a weird gal so I expect weird when it comes to gifts and whatnot. This cake had what looked like a dead clown on the top made of bright icing. LOL
We moved to the kitchen to slice up that cake and start on gifts. Took some silly pictures of the slicing action as well hehe. First I opened my friend from Montreal's gift. It turned out to be a book. But not just any book. An anime book! More specifically "Manga: The Complete Guide" by Jason Thompson, published at the end of 2007 so it isn't even that much out of date. It's super awesome as well because this book will help me with my manga goal for this year to read more than just one shots. It tells all sorts of information about over 900 different series.
Then it was time to open my boyfriends gifts. He had 2 bags of stuff that I wasn't expecting. First bag had some awesome chocolate and random pocky that he actually found at the local grocery store. There was some delicious port in there as well and a hilarious CSI Miami card with Horatio Caine on it (points to the wine bottle picture) and he says something about looks (it was a talking card). Very hilarious. After giggling over the card for a while, I opened the second bag and this is where things got totally awesome.
Inside there was a green box. The same green box that comes from a local store around here. In the past I have gotten sheep (I have a sheep figurine collection) from this store in said box, so obviously I was expecting another sheep treasure to add to the sheep masses (there's more where those come from).
Boy was I wrong. Inside there were 9 little Hetalia mini figures
. I love this show to bits and was super excited. These are my first figures EVER haha. They came with flattened boxes that my boyfriend took out and showed me right away, along with one bigger box, also flattened. Sure I have anime posters, some manga, and dvd's but I never ventured into the figure part of my anime obsession because, well, I just don't have that much money kicking around.
He then showed me another little bag that was filled with more little figures. They are all Final Fantasy characters that he said came with the deal he found wherever he got them. Now FF isn't exactly anime but having little figures of these characters is just as awesome as anime because FF is awesome. They also came with an awesome engrish message that had a little sun magnet attached to it made out of wood. Very random lol.
So now I have all these little Hetalia guys staring at me surrounding my computer screen. We put the FF characters downstairs in the studio where a lot of other strange oddities surround them. This was the most anime oriented birthday for me ever. Generally it's only me getting anime goodies for myself but I think that more and more of my friends are starting to understand my small little fandom world of anime.
After this wonderful day I managed to catch a terrible cold that knocked me out for a whole week which is why all you saw was character posts last week. I feel kinda bad about that as it is so early on in blogging journey but well... these things happen. At least I was conscious enough to do my characters. I'm feeling "better" now and back to doing what I love. Writing, chatting, and watching lots of anime.
(P.S. I know I suck at taking pictures

Review of 2009 Anime Part 1 ~Winter~
So I made a goal at the beginning of this year to watch all anime that started airing in 2009. I made a few exceptions of course. I didn't watch series that I hadn't seen the first season to and knew I wouldn't get around to in time (Major, Ippo, Before Green Gables). Overall I think I did pretty good in watching everything I could get my hands on for 2009. Anyway on with winters aired anime reviews.
For winter everything was watched that aired but Major...5... and Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger. Kupuu!! Mamegoma! was never picked up by anyone so that wasn't watched either. I do plan on watching both of those sports anime but not quite ready yet to take up getting into a baseball (I hate baseball) or boxing anime quite yet. Kupuu I don't think will ever get picked up so that's off the list as well unless magically someone does do it. And really... who wouldn't be interested in a show about seals.... yeah me either. lol
Hetalia: Axis Powers started up and surprisingly gained a lot of popularity. It is still airing right now and shows no signs of really stopping. Hetalia takes the world's countries and turns them into people. Hilarity ensues with the interactions between the countries as they go to war, problem solve world issues together, and do lots of other funny stuff. The show does require you to know some of your history but also teaches it to you as well. Quirks of countries are portrayed quite well too right down to the stereotypical behaviour you'd expect of someone from that country.
Winter proved to be a very good season for me enjoyment wise. I only have 4 shows that I was disappointed with and 1 of those I already knew before it started that it was going to be bad because of its ova's. (Munto) I hoped it would prove me wrong but sadly it didn't. The winter season had a lot of sequels that aired. 9 to be exact which is almost half of the shows that aired. It also holds the anime that I think was the best show overall of 2009 (Kemono no Souja Erin) and the worst show of 2009 (Girl Who Leapt Through Space).
Best show of winter for me, aside from Kemono no Souja Erin because that is the winner for overall best anime of 2009, would be Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou. This was the second season to Natsume Yuujinchou that aired in 2008. I enjoyed this slow paced tale about a boy who could see spirits and inherited a book from his grandmother called the 'Book of Friends'. His grandmother could also see and talk with spirits so she made this book by putting all the names of the spirits that she defeated in it to kept control over them like that. Natsume's journey continues with his goal to release all of the spirits from the book. I loved all the stories that were told in this anime and I especially liked the cat Nyanko-sensei or Madara. I know for a lot of people that this character ruined the anime for them but I loved the humor he brought to this anime. That and I have a soft spot for cats in anime.
Worst show of winter for me, aside from the winner of worst 2009 anime overall Girl Who Leapt Through Space, would be Akikan!. I knew this anime was going to be bad from the start. Cans that turn into girls... right... And have to fight other can girls to see which model is the best... I hoped it would just be silly fun which I suppose for some people it was, but in general it made my eyes and ears bleed. Daichi the useless male lead pissed me off. None of the can girls were remotely interesting and in general everything about this anime just sucked.
Here's my big list of Best to Worst shows of winter 2009:
- Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou 10/10
- Hetalia: Axis Powers (still airing) 10/10
- Minami-ke Okaeri 10/10
- Birdy the Mighty Decode 2 9/10
- Shikabane Hime: Kuro 7/10
- Asu no Yoichi! 6/10
- Chrome Shelled Regios 6/10
- Kurokami The Animation 6/10
- Ride Back 6/10
- Genji Monogatari Sennenki 6/10
- Slayers Evolution-R 6/10
- Maria Holic 6/10
- Viper's Creed 6/10
- Maria-sama ga Miteru 4th 6/10
- White Album 2/10
- Munto TV 1/10
- Akikan! 1/10
Surprise enjoyment: Asu no Yoichi, a harem comedy with some ecchi tossed in there. Why I liked it is beyond me. The only thing that stood out about it was that it had a samurai theme to it that I highly enjoyed.
Surprise fail: Viper's Creed, a Mecha Post-apocalyptic anime. Taking my rating aside it just didn't really do anything for me. I don't remember much about it and it didn't really have anything new to offer. It's a very forgettable series.
Honorable mentions: Maria Holic and Ride Back. Both were enjoyable series but ratings from me aside they both fell short of being super awesome.
