Happy New Year and Look! More Anime Resolutions
First of all Happy New Year!
I spent my new years eve countdown in a house with lots of friends somewhere in Vermont. We stayed there for 5 days and had a lot of fun. While there I didn't think about anime or blogging very much and I have now returned ready to face the new year with some fun goals. I have some personal goals in here again along with my lovely anime blogging ones. Last year I did this as well and I'm happy to say I pretty much have completed everything on the Anime side of the goals list. I do still have Gundam Seed and Chrono Crusade to finish off but they are slow watches because I've been buddy group watching them. The only goal I flat out failed was reading manga that wasn't just One Shots. It's really hard for me to sit down and read I guess which is hilarious considering watching anime is basically reading!
One thing I would like to talk about while I got your attention is my 365 Days of Anime Characters posts. They are complete now and I seriously had a lot of fun doing it. I hope everyone had fun reading them even if I choose a character from a show you haven't seen. The goal was to make some lesser known series more known or to at least have people say to me "I'm gonna check this out, thanks!" I got quite a few of those responses which pleased me very much. I won't be continuing this project this year but I might bring it back again in 2012 or later. (Don't hold me to that though haha.) So instead, in the next week or so I'll be starting a new series that will be only once a week. I don't have a name for this project yet but it'll probably be along the lines of chii's Movie Pick or something like that. So look forward to it. If you have a movie suggestion leave a comment and I'll add it to my list! Once again, THANK YOU for reading the Anime Character Series!
Here's my goals for 2011!
Anime:
- Read more manga (not just one shots)
- Watch all anime that starts airing in 2011 (some exceptions apply)
- Watch the titles I have not seen on Digiboy's top 100 list
- Watch the straggler anime I still haven't finished from 2009 to present
- Make more crazy top whatever anime lists
- Instead of just reading everyones blog posts actually comment on them more
- Attack Shinmaru and Prede's Anime-Planet lists and watch all that they have that I haven't
- Watch those really popular shows I have been putting off for some reason
- Pick ONE show from each season and episodically blog it (hopefully keep it to 12-13 episodes)
Suggestions for which shows to blog each season will be most appreciated! Level E is in the lead so far for Winter.
List of anime on Digiboy's list I will watch:
- Pani Poni Dash
- Kyouran Kazoku Nikki
- Darker Than Black*
- Bamboo Blade
- Kamichu
- Neo Ranga*
- Genshiken*
- The SoulTaker
* means I'm looking forward to it and was going to watch this year anyway
List of popular shows I will watch plus super long ones:
- Blood+
- Ergo Proxy*
- Great Teacher Onizuka*
- History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi*
- Nana*
- Shakugan no Shana
- Da Capo
- Zero no Tsukaima
- Negima!?
- Ghost in the Shell
- Tsubasa Chronicle
- XXXHOLiC*
- Lupin III*
- Hajime no Ippo
- City Hunter
- Touch
- Yu Yu Hakusho*
- Saint Seiya*
- Maison Ikkoku
- Black Jack
- Saint Seiya*
- Mazinger Z*
- Prince of Tennis
- Fist of the North Star*
- Kyo Kara Maoh*
* means I'm looking forward to it
If anyone has suggestions for other possible popular stuff that I haven't already seen just leave a comment. This obviously isn't a complete list but I thought 25 titles up there were good enough for the moment off the top of my head.
Personal:
- Continue Pokemon Workout to loose that weight
- Try to get into a proper routine
- Still figure out more ways to make money working from home
- Try to get in better health so I'm able to get a job (STILL not too sure how to handle this one)
- BE HAPPY

Valentine’s: February 12-15 Anime-Planet: Monthly Marathon
Here we go again with another romance themed Monthly Marathon part of Anime-Planet. I hosted the Christmas event so I've passed on the responsibility to my partner on AP for this event, TheOmnipotentLemur. He kindly put together some wonderful romance anime (with my help later on) to celebrate what February is known for, Valentine's Day. So curl up with your most special person and prepare for your hearts to start throbbing and tears to start flowing while watching these gushy romances. Click on the image below to see the anime list.
I have decided on the following:
- Mahoraba ~Heartful Days~
- Suzuka
- Myself; Yourself
- Honey and Clover (Both Seasons)
All but Myself; Yourself is on my wtw list that I wish to finish watching this year. I'm looking forward to Honey and Clover as I've heard a lot of good things about it over the past little while. I'm hoping Suzuka will end up being a surprise win but we'll see. I don't have much faith in the other 2. All in all, it should be a good weekend of anime. I'll be throwing in some hockey too because it is the starting weekend of the Olympics of course.

Happy New Year! Resolutions Anime Style!
The New Year is here and what better way to start than to make some anime goals! I hope everyone had a safe and awesome new years bash and is ready to face a new decade with anything and everything it throws at us.
Just like last year I plan on watching every anime that airs in 2010. Some might take a while to get to as I'm sure there are going to be a lot of sequels to shows I haven't seen, but it is always possible to catch up. I found it to be fun to do last year and I hope to pace myself better this year as well. I kinda skipped Spring last year and it proved to be a huge season that I probably shouldn't have skipped as I just finished on the 30th of December.
So trying to think of some anime goals, I went around a close circle of friends from Anime-Planet and asked them for suggestions for shows that they think I should watch in the new year that I haven't seen already for one reason or another. I told them it could be anything as long as I haven't seen it before and it wasn't on my "won't watch" list on AP. After all was said and done about a week of hunting people down and nagging them for suggestions we came up with a pretty big list.
Then there is my current "want to watch" list that isn't really my personal want to watch anime but is compiled of lists that a member of AP made "just for me" they are more of a joke as he knew I wouldn't like hardly any of the anime on the list. But a challenge is a challenge and I will finish this list off. I have about 50 titles to finish off down from like 300... Doing good. I hope to be completed that stuff at the end of next year at the latest.Watch all anime started airing in 2010.
- Watch the list from my AP peers and make reviews for them
- Finish watching the "purplemo" list
- Read more manga
- Watch all anime that starts airing in 2010
- Watch all of Naruto
Now goal number 5 is going to be an ongoing project throughout the year that I plan on writing about whenever really. I was going to do one episode per day but I don't think I really want to actually watch Naruto everyday for a year. XD
Anywho there's my anime plans for the year. Some might get added later on and I will be putting up that list that my friends picked for me to watch soon enough. Here's some pictures to kick off the new year.

2 Days out of 4 of my Anime-Planet Christmas Marathon
So I started a little marathon event for Christmas on Anime-Planet where members get together and choose from the list provided and try to out watch each other within the 4 days. I choose the following from the festive list:
1. Itsudatte My Santa!
2. Princess Tutu
3. A Little Snow Fairy Sugar
4. Cooking Master Boy
5. Popotan
I have finished all but Cooking Master Boy as I plan on starting that later with my bf when he gets home.
Itsudatte My Santa! - .5/5 DO NOT WATCH!!! I can't express that enough... It was so bad. I thought it was just going to be a lame story about a boy who hated Christmas because his parents were never around and they had the balls to name him Santa because he was born on the 25th. What I got was a terrible boring story along those lines but it had a super annoying chick in it that was painful to not only look at but to listen to as well. Then they made a second episode that had NOTHING to do with the first one..... *sigh*
Princess Tutu - 2/5 I can see how this anime would appeal to some people but I found it dry and boring. It had great potential but it just didn't turn out well. Generally I love weird twisted stories about fairy tales but Princess Tutu took the fun out of it by being too serious for it's own good when everything surrounding it was so absurdly awkward and quirky. I will say that the animation was lovely to see. It was outside of the normal way of anime animation and it was a nice change. The classical music soundtrack as well. I think if it wasn't for the music I wouldn't have made it through this anime... although the music might have added to the sleepy effect I had while watching.

Pepper, Salt, and Sugar are fairies.
A Little Snow Fairy Sugar - 2/5 Watching this right after Princess Tutu probably wasn't the best of choices but I did it anyway. Surprisingly it went by much faster than Tutu did. This anime was about fairies that are training to become a certain kind of fairy. Sun, wind, snow and so on. They train in the human world and they meet Saga who can for some reason see them. They have to plant seeds and then find a"twinkle" to make them bloom... yeah it was that exciting. But for a true moe experience this show was right up there. My oddest complaint about this series was that Saga took a LOT of baths. For something that was so innocent it almost seemed like they were trying hard to make it a fanservice of some sort. But then again maybe that's just me. There were at least 10 bath scenes in a 24 episode show about fairies and innocence. I certainly hope there are no weird creepy otaku out there that would fap to such a cute show... I hope.

Ho ho ho

Hot spring episode.
Popotan - 2/5 Ecchi, ecchi, ecchi... For a while at least. Then suddenly out of no where it turns super serious. WTF and then just ends... There isn't much more to say about this... It oddly had a Christmas feel to it but that only was because it was about a house that was a Christmas shop too, that transported around from place to place...
Lets just say after all that mediocre stuff I hope Cooking Master Boy will be awesome.
