There were a lot of anime that aired this spring! The only ones I didn't watch were the long running continuations of shounen aimed at a younger audience: Inazuma Eleven GO, Beyblade: Metal Fury, Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal, Digimon Xros Wars 2, and Danball Senki. I haven't seen any of these series except for Digimon but even then I only made it through the first 2 seasons before the 2010 reboot of the franchise. There was one shoujo title in there that I would actually like to watch someday called Jewelpet Sunshine. But first I want to watch the other 2 seasons of it...
With so many shows airing during the spring it should be no surprise that my favourite anime of the year started airing. Yes, Gintama 2 is my #1 for the year 2011. It's great to see all the characters back and getting into wacky situations! That space arc was AMAZING!
If Hyouge Mono actually had timely subs it might be in this spot but I can't put it there comfortably since I've only been able to watch 10 episodes from a 39 episode series. Hyouge Mono is certainly awesome though and more people should watch it!
Best Show of spring aside from Gintama because that's #1 of the year would be Toriko. He's a manly man out to find the most delicious food. It doesn't matter if he has to kill it himself! Just look at those arms! I plan to re-start blogging this series in the new year so look out for those! GUTS GUTS GUTS!
Worst Show of spring is Hoshizora e Kakaru Hashi... Harem... I don't need to say more. I hate most harem cookie cutter shows. Especially ones that come from eroge games...

Surprise enjoyment: Steins;Gate took me by storm. I didn't plan on watching it at first but a friend convinced me to start it. It was like a super win with this series because I really thought it wasn't going to be good, like at all. Astarotte's Toy was pretty much written off by everyone. I too doubted it at first. After all when you see "Semen and 10 years old" in a first synopsis of the series it's hard not to be judgmental.
Surprise fail: Deadman Wonderland while it still gets a passing mark from me, it really needed more for it to be truly awesome.
Honorable mentions: Ao no Exorcist is awesome and no one can tell me otherwise. I hope we get more someday and I can't wait for that movie. Tiger & Bunny should have been a show I fell in love with right from the start. Somehow that didn't happen at first. It took a while for all the characters to grow on me too long for me to truly enjoy the show. Pretty Rhythm Aurora Dream is SO girly but I can't stop watching it. I love ice skating and wanted to be one when I was a kid. I should probably write a diary post about it or something~

Season 2's can either be great or not so great. Generally when season 2s are announced I make sure to watch the first one before they start airing. Amazingly all these I had already seen their season 1s for so I didn't have to go through any prep and just dived right in.
I FUCKING LOVE THIS SHOW! I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU MANGA READERS SAY!
I was happy to get more of this show but unhappy that I had to sit through more episodes revolving around Inami... If she wasn't in this show it would be a million times better.
Oh these girls... Weird that S2 was only 8 episodes.
Squid Girl 2
More aweseome squidaliciousness~
Seikon no Qwaser 2
I don't know... It gave us more boobs... I guess that's enough...
Tono to Issho 2
More hilarious shorts from feudal Japan!
Kimi ni Todoke 2
Thanks for another season of growing up angsty done in a girly way...
The World God Only Knows 2
I hope we get more. Haqua <3
Nurarihyon no Mago 2
Did anyone else even watch this? You should cause it's fun!
Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu 2
While season 1 was all hit, season 2 was mostly miss. I still enjoyed it but wish it was more like the first series.
BALLS BALLS BALLS!
I rather like the circle and have a legend attached to it way of doing these posts, so that's what I'll be doing from now on. So here's yet another one of Scamp's charts modified to suit my needs.
Click image to actually read it.
I'll never include any ova's or movies in these posts because they are just so random and a pain in the ass to keep track of for the one person in probably a thousand that would care. Yet again I chopped off 2 of the bottom anime that were kiddy ones that no one will care about. Hilariously enough I actually enjoy Cardfight Vanguard from last season that I did the same thing to. I decided to add in an extra category for those anime that I just don't care about one way or another. I'm hoping a few of these will end up in my "like" category after viewing.
I'm looking forward to 10 anime that will be airing which I find a little dull with over 40 new listings. They are mostly season 2's since we have a lot of those this spring, 8 of them in total and 5 of them are must watches for me. Gintama being the #1 that I can't wait for among the sequels. Kaiji is a very close second. For original anime it's totally Toriko. I LOVE the ova to bits and I almost went and started reading the manga because of how awesome those 30 minutes were. Also I don't care what anyone says, X-Men WILL be awesome! Hyouge Mono I'm super interested in but I can't really explain why other than I like the era and the proposed characters.
The noitaminA block looks interesting but I don't wanna get my hopes up for it like I did with Winter. Both anime could honestly go either way for me and like always I'm hoping for in the "like" direction. Deadman Wonderland I've seen a lot of hype and praise for it so I'm hoping it's not all just talk there.
The facepalm award goes to Lotte no Omocha. Semen and lolis... Opposed to Seikon no Qwaser where it's breast milk, so suppose I shouldn't talk but... I'll take the mature boobs over young girls drinking magical youth making semen... I mean I kinda like the idea but I don't like that the girl is 10 years old.
I might actually just watch only the "must watches" for me and the of interest ones making the total 16. I always try to tell myself to save everything else for when they are finished airing. But that'll probably fail like always and I'll watch it all in one go as they air. I will admit that over 40 new current airing anime does scare me to try and keep up with so maybe my only watch those 16 anime goal will work this time around.
Ah well, here's to another season!
EDIT: I'm going to try my hand at blogging Toriko each week. Maybe this time I'll get past the first episode XD
From the anime Kaiji, Kaiji Itou is in poverty and lives life from day to day scrounging for meals and money to pay off his large debts. He tries gambling to see if that can solve his problems but that only seems to dig his hole deeper into debt because he never wins. He is visited by a man one day that gives Kaiji two options - either spend ten years working hard labour to repay this outstanding debt, or board the gambling ship Espoir and hopefully clear it out in one night. Kaiji's intense journey begins here.
Why I like him: He takes crazy risks that I don't think your average person would even consider.
Why I hate him: He really whines a lot. I mean I understand about being broke all the time and having a hard time, but suck it up and do something that works to get out of your problem. Don't make it worse.
Overall: Kaiji is a love hate character but if you love intense situations check this show out. It made me squirm in my seat more than once.
