365 Days of Anime Characters: Day 214/365 Kakashi Hatake

Day 214/365

Kakashi Hatake

From the anime Naruto, Kakashi Hatake is the leader and teacher of Team 7 consisting of Sasuke, Naruto, and Sakura. His main ability is the Sharingan. This gives him the ability to mimic the movements and jutsu of others. He is able to summon a pack of 8 dogs whom help him with tracking. He has a very easy going attitude but knows when it's time to get very serious. He takes friendship and loyalty very seriously.

***The rest of this post is written by Tamerax. Wish him a happy birthday cause today is the big day!***

Why I like him:

1) He's the Barry White of the ninja world. Always cool.

2) 1000 years of pain. The greatest move in the history of all things awesome.  This gets 6 stars out of 5.  That's right...

Latest in ninja fighting technology

If they only had one...

3) Can summon dogs at any point (Is that sanitary? Where are they kept???) Still pretty neat.

4) He reads porn while teaching.  BOOYEAH!

5) His relationship with Guy is really amusing.

Why I hate him:

1) His hair constantly makes me think of this guy.

Cool factor = 0. Need more ninja...and dogs

2) He probably also has the worse set of raccoon eye tan line... ever. He apparently was born with that mask on.  His face may look like that that thing from Blade 2 so that's why he doesn't take it off anymore.

Underneath the mask...

3) He doesn't get enough screen time for stupid reasons like conveniently being away on missions or being in the hospital cause either he got his ass kicked by an enemy or some weird new technique wiped him out.

Overall: I really enjoy so many of the characters from this show. It was hard to pick just one so I went with the one I've enjoyed the longest cause he's been around since pretty much the start of the show. If you disagree with me, you are clearly a pinko and I will fight you.

Adventures with Naruto Part 3: Ninja tests take a long time

This adventure is from episodes 27-59. Basically about 4 arcs. I got happily surprised with a new OP. I hated the first one and would cringe if I heard even 10 seconds of it. Glad I'll never have to listen to it again. :D

Sasuke being sneaky

The second exam ends and the third begins. But before it can start people need to be eliminated because there are too many that actually made it to the third round. So we get to sit around for 20 episodes while they do this. It's no wonder that the show is 220 because it takes them forever to do anything which is almost as bad as fillers. Luckily I haven't come up to those yet but I'm dreading it greatly.

41-42 bitch fight tie
43 another bitch fight
44-45 Naruto dog fight
46-47 clan fight
48-50 weird green man against emo dude

Those are the ones I remember XD I think there was 2 other fights before that but I can't remember cause... I watched them like 2 months ago and it wasn't very memorable. There is one last fight with Sasuke but my notes on it don't overly make sense yet again.

Bitch fight super punch!

While they wait for exam 3 to begin Naruto starts a standing on water training. A weird dude that goes by the names, mountain monk, king of frogs or something will be training Naruto to learn summoning techniques. After many episodes Nartuo finally summons a giant frog who turns out to be a giant douche. Rather funny since the toad couldn't really believe that a kid like Naruto could summon him which is why he gave off so much attitude.

Mountain monk, king of frogs... More like king of perverts...

That be one angry toad

Since the summon technique is so difficult, Naruto ends up in the hospital because he used too much of his chakra. He slept for a long 3 days. During that time the sand boy gets all in their face (the teachers) and threatens to kill them all eventually as he runs off before he ends up dead because in fact the teacher had him cornered. Very odd thing to say as you are fleeing for your own life I must say.

"When I was a boy my father tried to assassinate me many times." D: no wonder he's so angry and weird.

The last episode I watched was the day before the third exam. I figured this was the perfect time to stop and take a rest. With more ninja tests to come I can only imagine how much longer it's going to take. I'm still not hating or even liking Naruto. Although I am leaning more towards disappointment because I find the pacing to be very icky.

Angry cows running after people make me laugh. What an entrance he makes to the stadium, the place of the third exam.

The Most Anime Birthday I’ve Ever Had

So on the 16th of January it was my birthday and I wasn't expecting anything at all to be honest. Really just expected a quiet day alone with anime and my boyfriend. We started out by watching Naruto for about 6 hours. LOL that's right Naruto on my birthday. I don't even overly enjoy the show (don't hate it either) but my boyfriend likes it a lot. I made a post about it here. I haven't been wanting to watch anymore Naruto since then either haha.

I made my character of the day post about my favourite anime character ever, Yang Wen-li. <3 (great picture from ghostlightning's blog) He's super awesome and I hope more people watch Legend of the Galactic Heroes. I actually plan on re-watching it sometime. Probably not this year though unless I manage to get through more of my other anime goals. Mononoke, Kaiba, My-Hime (plus all relations), Simoun (all enjoyed by me!) and started Naruto is all I've done so far off of that list. I'm going to start watching Nodame Cantabile very soon because of the current airing Finale. I plan on making February Macross month. So expect a lot of Macross posts in the near future.

Anywho back to the birthday. After all that Naruto and blogging I went to sleep. Woke up to someone at the door. It was a friend from Montreal that my boyfriend invited down to celebrate with us which was a super awesome surprise because he brought beer and gifts. :D So after bumming around for the day at home we went out to a nice Thai dinner where another friend from the area meet us. She brought a lovely bottle of wine as a gift to me that was literally dressed in jeans. Has a cute pocket and everything.

Wine with Card

After that delicious dinner we returned home to watch some movies and open presents :D I went to the computer to check my e-mail and messages only to have all the lights turned off and people started singing  "Happy Birthday" and a cake entered the room. This cake right away made me laugh. I'm a weird gal so I expect weird when it comes to gifts and whatnot. This cake had what looked like a dead clown on the top made of bright icing. LOL

Weird clown cake and me :P

We moved to the kitchen to slice up that cake and start on gifts. Took some silly pictures of the slicing action as well hehe. First I opened my friend from Montreal's gift. It turned out to be a book. But not just any book. An anime book! More specifically "Manga: The Complete Guide" by Jason Thompson, published at the end of 2007 so it isn't even that much out of date. It's super awesome as well because this book will help me with my manga goal for this year to read more than just one shots. It tells all sorts of information about over 900 different series.

So yummy

Then it was time to open my boyfriends gifts. He had 2 bags of stuff that I wasn't expecting. First bag had some awesome chocolate and random pocky that he actually found at the local grocery store. There was some delicious port in there as well and a hilarious CSI Miami card with Horatio Caine on it (points to the wine bottle picture) and he says something about looks (it was a talking card). Very hilarious. After giggling over the card for a while, I opened the second bag and this is where things got totally awesome.

Delicious dark chocolate pocky

Inside there was a green box. The same green box that comes from a local store around here. In the past I have gotten sheep (I have a sheep figurine collection) from this store in said box, so obviously I was expecting another sheep treasure to add to the sheep masses (there's more where those come from).

Boy was I wrong. Inside there were 9 little Hetalia mini figures :D .  I love this show to bits and was super excited. These are my first figures EVER haha. They came with flattened boxes that my boyfriend took out and showed me right away, along with one bigger box, also flattened. Sure I have anime posters, some manga, and dvd's  but I never ventured into the figure part of my anime obsession because, well, I just don't have that much money kicking around.

He then showed me another little bag that was filled with more little figures. They are all Final Fantasy characters that he said came with the deal he found wherever he got them. Now FF isn't exactly anime but having little figures of these characters is just as awesome as anime because FF is awesome. They also came with an awesome engrish message that had a little sun magnet attached to it made out of wood. Very random lol.

lol (click to read)

So now I have all these little Hetalia guys staring at me surrounding my computer screen. We put the FF characters downstairs in the studio where a lot of other strange oddities surround them. This was the most anime oriented birthday for me ever. Generally it's only me getting anime goodies for myself but I think that more and more of my friends are starting to understand my small little fandom world of anime.

After this wonderful day I managed to catch a terrible cold that knocked me out for a whole week which is why all you saw was character posts last week. I feel kinda bad about that as it is so early on in blogging journey but well... these things happen. At least I was conscious enough to do my characters. I'm feeling "better" now and back to doing what I love. Writing, chatting, and watching lots of anime. :)

They drink too!

(P.S. I know I suck at taking pictures :P )

Adventures with Naruto Part 2: 2 Recap Episodes

Watching this show it's better to think of it as episodic with hidden plot here and there. Very little gets relieved (if ever). I can't say I'm enjoying this series but I don't hate it either. I'll take a shounen action over a shoujo magical girl anyday. I don't really have a favourite character but if I had to choose someone who irritated me the least it would be their leader of team 7 Kakashi Hatake. His carefree badass attitude is pretty awesome.

There is only one look he has even when sick in bed

The music has grown on me a lot more than I though it would. I still hate the OP with a passion but the rest is super cool. I have yet to run into much filler unless people consider long battles as that. (I personally don't) Tad irritating that they take so long but whatever. If Dragon Ball can get away with it (kinda), Naruto can too. One thing that drives me crazy is recap episodes. I would understand if they did it at like episode 50 or something. But to have not only 1 but 2 in 26 episodes is a little too much for me. I know recaps help when the show is current airing and whatnot but actually watching a bunch in a row just to be told what you watched 2 hours ago is a little silly to me.

This batch I watched episodes 5-26. I have no desire to go through what happened in each episode in detail so I'll do it the quick way. Yay note form.

Episode 5

Nothing happened. More training basically.

Drunk bridge builder

Cool!

Episodes 6 - 9 (teehehe)

Ninja missions: Protect a drunk man who builds brigdes. We find out that Kakashi Hatake has some weird eyeball power which is why he wears his

headband the way he does. A battle begins with some dude from the water clan.

Easy as pie

Episode 10-13

Ninjas are healing after their battle. They run up trees (more ninja practice). They meet a little boy with his mom.

Episodes 14-16

Recap.... for half the episode then battle with a person that controls ice begins plus the water clan dude is back.

Episode 17

The ice person tells their sad story. Naruto, because he is so enrages, brings out the power of the nine-tailed demon fox that he has been the host of since birth. (that explains the whiskers on his face... sadly I just put that together this episode...)

Episodes 18 - 19

*Spoiler* Death of the baddies *Spoiler*

Episodes 20-23

(Filler?) I actually don't know what happened in these episodes.

Ninja school still makes me giggle

Teacher of Part 1... He's a torture expert :|

Episodes 24-25

Start ninja written test part 1.

Teacher of Part 2 of the test

Episode 26 (Special 45 minute episode)

Recap.... for first half. Second part of the ninja test begins.

First of all that eye thing of Kakashi Hatake's is pretty cool! Second, I enjoyed the battle with the ice dude very much. His story actually made me feel a little sad. Other than those 2 points I really don't have much more to say. The story is moving along slowly and so far this just seems to be about a boy learning to become a ninja with his friends. Which is fine and dandy but I need a little more awesome to be satisfied.

P.S. that's right I blogged about Naruto on my Birthday XD

Adventures with Naruto Part 1: Restart from the Beginning

I've been procrastinating with this show since it pretty much came out. It's childish ways just doesn't suit me when it comes to ninja's. I started the show up last year around November or so and watched about 15 episodes. I can honestly say I don't remember a thing about the show from those episodes. Which is never a good sign. Even if the show is a long running one (220 episodes), I should know what's happening in the show by the 15th episode at least.

So today with a lack of anything else of interest I wanted to start I decided to follow up on this journey through Naruto episodes. I have lots of people telling me not to bother and beware of fillers and so on. But honestly I kinda want to know what all the fuss is about. I truly know nothing about this series other than kids (young anime fans) love it, there's a lot of episodes to it (still airing), and it's about a ninja boy (in training). Oh yes, the manga is apparently way better than the anime but I don't care for manga that are super long (49 volumes and counting). Give me a one shot over that anyday.

First of all I notice the music... The first OP I consider to be one of the worst ever in anime. It makes my ears bleed... At least the ED is listenable but still weird in it's own way. The music during the show is pretty enjoyable though which is good. Intense power rock with flutes and drummers is really weird but pretty entertaining. Reminds me of Dynasty Warriors almost. The animation doesn't bother me. Animation *almost* NEVER bothers me. Hell I love Naked Woves and Kemonozume.

How odd

Naruto with the scroll

Episodes 1

Training is taking place and apparently it's important to know how to turn into a girl? O.o While this is a little funny and all it's still pretty weird. We then are thrown into a random fight over some scroll that is important... I don't really know why it's important but maybe I still wasn't paying enough attention. Something about revenge... Overall I dunno how anyone would want to watch more after that pretty crappy introduction episode.

Teaching a random kid

More weird transformations...

Episode 2

Naruto takes on randomly training a little kid in his neighborhood. Boring and pretty pointless episode with more transforming into a girl. Filler starts here? O.o

Didn't expect that 3 episodes in XD

Potty humour will always make me laugh

Episode 3

Love is in the air... already and potty humour. From first kisses to broken hearts I'm not sure what happened.

I really like this classroom

He hates them XD

Episode 4

I rather enjoy this ninja school they go to. It's so interesting for some reason. Especially the classroom it's self. Their teacher is pretty funny as well saying he hates then all. In this episode we also see the first "Thousand years of pain" joke done as well. It's going to be a long series. XD
