365 Days of Anime Characters: Day 8/365 Nicholas D. Wolfwood

Day 8/365

From the anime Trigun, Nicholas D. Wolfwood is a priest who has a huge cross that he carries with him all the time. Inside that huge cross is a lot of guns that he uses to defend himself. His main goal is to earn money for the children in the orphanage he runs because he doesn't want kids to grow up in a bad situation like he did.

Why I like him: He is very much a bad ass who isn't afraid to kill those that get in his way even though he's a priest. He brings a serious yet still silly side to the show that adds to the overall enjoyment.  If his character wasn't in Trigun at all I think the show would have been missing something.

Why I hate him: Scroll over for ***SPOILER*** He had a relationship with Milly and then DIES. The scene where she finds out and is holding her belly in a dark room almost made me cry too.

Overall: When he and Vash first meet they were always arguing about the rights and wrongs of killing. Vash being against killing and Wolfwood being for. Eventually Wolfwood came to terms with Vash's ideals. Nicholas D. Wolfwood is my favourite character from Trigun and with good reason. I'd even go as far as putting him in my top anime characters of all time list if I ever made one.
