Hanamaru Youchien 06-08
It's pool time!
I only recognize her suit because of the anime Kappa no Kaikata
Her shark suit was adorable as well though. I'll never tire of these outfits. Since Tsuchida only seems to have eyes for Yamamoto while at the pool side this makes Anzu sad and want attention anyway she can get it. They come up with many schemes to get Tsuchida to see Anzu instead of Yamamoto's huge breasts. They start off with a water dance.
Now it's a shark attack! Fake trouble means Anzu gets into trouble!
Children need to be careful with their wolf crying. As when something really terrible does happen adults might just think it's another false alarm and ignore it. Either way though Anzu did get the attention she wanted even if it wasn't exactly what she hoped for. Next we have Tsuchida's sister Satsuki randomly show up... I knew they couldn't just keep this anime to adults and kindergarten... They HAD to add a high school girl in there somewhere. And of course she gives Tsuchida a hard time like all teenage sisters do to their older brothers. She is here to observe if Tsuchida is doing a good job or not being a teacher for children.
Random observation, I think these days people would freak out with a male teacher taking a girl to the bathroom like that.
Ending picture I just had to include! I love beluga whales! <3Awesome cute ED yet again!
Summer break = Trips together! They go to where Tsuchida and Sakura grew up by train.
Once they arrive it takes Hiiragi no time to start exploring the area and find all kinds of interesting creatures.
BOOB WARS!
Hiiragi again has a new outfit! An adorable little flounder swimsuit!
After much fun outside all day, Satsuki wishes to surprise Tsuchida with a difficult meal including gnocchi (yum!). Despite praising her when she visited him at school for her cookin,g he turns out to be dumbfounded by the gnocchi and can't figure out who made it and guesses everyone but her. This of course makes her very upset and she runs away to her room and pouts.
Summer getaways wouldn't be complete without a festival to go to. Everyone gets dressed up and hits the town in style.
Their first task is to draw what they did all summer. Most draw cute pictures but one girl draws her parents working. She didn't go anywhere and just wanted to help her parents with their fish business. The children wish to learn about work so they go to her fish place to try and make him see that children can help out in the workplace as well. Super cute.
The second part of this episode Tsuchida meets Hinagiku on the street. She needs help because her shoe broke! Tsuchida helps her out and brings her to her home and now she wishes to get married to him and to be put into his class at the kindergarten.
Anzu tells Hinagiku after her meeting with Yamamoto that she should never give up on her love for Tsuchida because someday she'll grow up and be able to compete with Yamamoto (meaning her boobs).
In the end she still gives up (for now) and goes back to her home to her wonderful father that will do anything for her sweet Hinagiku.
This episode was the most boring one so far. It had it's cute moments but there just wasn't that cute wow factor in it that the rest of the episodes have had for me. This ED though is my favourite of these 3 episodes... I think it's cause of the cat and the mellow song
Ladies versus Butlers! 05 – 06
Wow that was a terrible first speech... all that giggling hurt my head and I wanted to punch her through the screen. The schemer Tomomi and croissant hair were tied when they first entered the school but it seems that Tomomi is ahead now and this drives croissant hair bonkers. It takes her everything to stay polite for the most part when it's clear that she is totally pissed off. Competing to be best at everything and anything is silly I find. Croissant hair jealous over grades where Tomomi is jealous over looks. Everyone is different... I don't understand why people always have to get pissed over that...
Clumsy maid girl is the sister of the girl that frequently ends up stripping for no reason... Coincidence? I think not.
They get stuck in the hot spring room (because the school is having water issues). Why is thee a hot spring room to begin with that is "hardly" ever used??? Silliness and fanservice commence!
Servants will crossdress to act as escorts for the ladies. The maids of course will dress as males while the butlers have to dress as females or as something they will find out later... Why I'm not sure... The truth about Daichi is finally reveled that he is in fact a she. She is definitely not pleased that she must dress as a girl. They go on to study a little more. Food preparation and then onto wrestling. You need to be strong enough to fight off a possible attacker of your master after all. Finally they bring the girls more dresses for their ball where more silly situations occur.
This is the episode for Daichi to really start to annoy me. If you are going to "pretend" you are something you are not don't act like a giant douche bag to everyone around you because you have to do something that will possibly blow your cover. You choose to act this way. Suck it up. This "small" boob complex I will NEVER understand either. Especially since it's not being noticed by the dumb Akiharu.
Despite the annoyances the show still manages to make me laugh.
Sora no Woto 05 – 06
Lets start off with my favourite part of the series so far! Shuko the owl!
We start off with the military girls playing "war". Then onto mail time. Phylicia then decides with Rio that it is time for some "training" disguised as a "field trip". The girls are forced to carry lots of heavy gear to 3 old observation devices to make sure they are still in working condition. Mio tells them if it gets too much Kana can blow on her trumpet. And also warns the girls that there are wild animals out there. Kureha immediately tries to take her gun out to protect them. Mio whaps both of their hands away and sends them on their way.
As they stopped to play around in a riverbed, their backpacks were torn opened by an unknown. Something is out there. A boar? Or worse? The compass has mysteriously gone missing too! Now they must find their way to the mountain top on their own. Hunger strikes the girls as soon as they start walking. Kana sees a tree of berries and wants to eat them but they must go on! They find goal 2 and continue to onward to goal 3.
It is clear that Rio took their compass. This is yet another test for these girls to see if they can survive and make it without help. Because of the sunset Kana finds the last goal and runs on after it. Once getting there they see first hand what No Man's Land looks like. A battle field filled with old debris from fighting long ago.
Flash back a tiny bit to when Rio was stalking the girls to makes sure they were getting along ok. She too was tempted by the berries that Kana was and thought it would be a nice treat for the girls at the end of their goal. She stumbles down to the tree and starts to reach for the branch, she notices a set of eyes watching her and with a snort she sees that boar the girls were talking about. She fought that big tough boar to get the girls those yummy berries. Dirty but a winner she presents the berries to everyone as they all bath in the spring together. This is actually one of the best hot spring episodes I have ever seen.
I am simply in love with this little town. It is so picture friendly and just plain quaint. Kana goes out on the town because today was her big payday. The rest of the girls stay home to play mafia... I don't quite get it but ok. They must defend some wine from being inflamed to crazy prices. Or something. Very random. Fanservice always finds it's way into this anime.
Misho is a girl in the town that misses her family greatly. She is sad because Kana can go out and get presents for her family but she can't find the one thing that was left over from her mother before she passed away. We flash back to her and her mother sitting on the floor with a box brushing their hair and putting it into braids. Her mother told her on her death bed that she wouldn't be able to braid her hair anymore, so she must find a special person that is willing to do it in her place. Someone that wishes to love and protect her. That very box in her memories was within the treasure one of the towns ladies had taken from those mobsters earlier.
An old man at the church tells Kana that an "Invisible Reaper" attacked Misho's town which is why she is alone here now. The church took her in after her mother passed away and father never returned from war. What is this Reaper? Please tell me more.
Chu-Bra 05-06
Weird brother sister action going on. I know they are close because of the death of their parents and that their weird grandma taught them to love the same things... But still it's just weird. Even the wetting of the bed after the parents died is a little weird. But then again she's a kid and I suppose these things happen. Growing up without parents can be tough for a lot of kids especially at that age.
Mizuno knows Hayama's brother from when they went to school together. She of course has a huge crush on him.
Komachi decides to visit Hayama at home to tell her that he wants to help her get the panty club going at school because he feels bad that (for some reason) he was responsible for it getting shut down to begin with. (even though he wasn't to blame). At this point Komachi is just punishing himself to be around things "womanly" that he wants nothing to do with.
The girls start thinking about falling in love, in the bathtub of course... Hayama has never felt this feeling before and for some reason it makes her sad. Oddly it makes Shiraishi Haruka very happy that she hasn't felt love before. Might she possibly be a lesbian?
Enter bitchy girl Amahara Kiyono, who wants to learn about what "real" woman pantsu are like. Meaning lingerie. Sexy panties that make men's head spin. She is in it for the feminess of panties instead of comfort. She gets into an agrument with Hayama saying that appeal to others over functionality is the best way for panties and bras to be.
We randomly had a school inspection to make sure kids are wearing the right length skirts, no makeup, no hair dye, etc. I find this odd because we never did that at our school. But I suppose in the Japanese schools it's quite normal. We never had those medical exams in school either. Then again this might just be an anime thing as well. I'll be doing some research on this for sure.
Boob teacher gives a show in front of the mirror!
It's time to learn how to make a bra with all the different parts!
Despite the awkward moments this anime seems to give me, it's a rather cute tale about growing up as a girl with "odd" interests and being looked at like you are the weird one of the flock. I still am not overly enjoying the show but at least it makes me nervously laugh sometimes.
Getting ready for the Winter Olympics made me dig out this treasure
Ginban Kaleidoscope is about a girl who is a figure skater. She and many other girls compete around the world to be the best. No tournament is as precious to these girls as being chosen to represent their country for the Olympics. Sounds like a simple sports moral booster anime right? Enter Pete Pumps. A Canadian boy who loves to fly planes. Like figure skating is dancing on ice to the girls, he dances in the sky with his plane by doing tricks. Sadly an accident occurred, he crashed and died; just as Sakurano Tazusa was preforming on ice at the Women's Figure skating Olympic series second stage held in Montreal, Canada, she falls down and is knocked into unconsciousness. When she awakens she comes to the startling discovery that she is not alone in her mind. Thus the story begins.
It's amazing how if you add a supernatural theme to what would have been a boring anime without that, that the show not only becomes watchable but also good as well. Sure there's people out there that probably would have liked seeing a girl try to become the best figure skater in the world without a ghost there to help her along the way, but for me that ghost part is what made this watchable. The hilarious exchange between the two lead characters had me laughing a lot for the most part. Especially when she found out he hated tomatoes! Who keeps than many around them at all times??? Rich or not that was just silly.
For the most part everything about this anime was average. Animation, art and sound were all just "there". Nothing ever stood out. Even during the glitz and glamor of the skating performances it was just had a hazy art style to make it "feel special". Although for the most part when Pete was on screen there was a glow around him which I thought fitted quite nicely because he is a ghost that only she can see. For an anime that was about skating there wasn't as much skating as I would have liked... It seemed that all Sakurano did was lay around in her bed and chat to Pete about her annoyances. He being the main one and reporters being another. They were always hounding her, but then again her tsundere attitude towards everything probably didn't help. Which was a main theme of the show that the committee didn't really like.
After Sakurano got over her fit of having a ghost in her mind the show got better and Pete was like her personal motivator. She was always confident but always had doubt as well. She wanted to make her dream come true no matter how many haters she had. I can see why she was generally a total bitch to the media. I don't know how people can put up with the constant struggle for a good image among these people that just want to cause drama and make a big deal out of nothing. Most even started spreading their own rumors about her. Mainly love interests which I actually expected. She lives with her coach. I wondered why right from the start but we later found out that her parents were divorced and well that situation is hard on kids.
I think this anime took a lot of features that happens in real life and actually put them into a well written story with a supernatural twist that was believably. From the catty other skaters, to the pain in the ass reporters, Sakurano not only had all that to deal with but a ghost in her head for 100 days. This simple little story gives the viewer hope that if you try hard enough you might be able to achieve your goals and if not at least you tried as hard as you could. I thought the goodbye scene to Pete was very well done as well. We knew from the start of the anime that this day was coming but it didn't hit till that scene. Very well done.
This anime for some reason has added to my already excited self for the 2010 Winter Olympics even more. The OP ceremony did enough for that but this was a great pre watch for it! Best wishes to ALL the athletes! Especially the Canadian ones!

Ookami Kakushi 04-05
I don't know what it is about this anime but I can not take it seriously for the life of me. It tries to be serious too which makes it even harder. I think it's mainly because the characters are not likable at all for me. Maybe it's the sexual desire that this disease or whatever is happening in the town gives off. It's trying really hard to be all mysterious but it just comes out as funny with how they are portraying it.
I don't have much to say about episode 4 except I'm happy they showed what goes on at night a little more. "The Parading Red Firefly" is the weird urban legend of these mysterious people whom murder by night. And they seem to go after people who have "fallen in love" or something... Hiroshi was around to witness their appearance tonight but suddenly they vanished with all evidents gone except the girl's (from the very beginning of the episode kissing her boyfriend) hair clip with a spot of blood upon it.
But the better of the disease got to him and the night killer came for him. I enjoyed his stalking of Hiroshi though. Too bad the girl who confessed her love to him earlier got in the way.
Suzu mourns for her brother because he was killed. I'll miss him too don't worry little Suzu.
I want the oranges explained now please. ^_^
Hanamaru Youchien 04-05
Oh boy lots and lots of other anime references in this episode! Lum for sure. Kenshin or Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei possibly? Antique Bakery I think? I'm sure there was something else as well but yeah.
That little date during recess was cute too. I liked the mud coffee... XD I use to make that too. I dunno how this show keeps finding random things that I seriously thought only I did as a kid.
Second act and Tsuchida has take a personal day so Yamamoto fills in taking his class into hers for the day. I always likes substitute teachers in school because it was a like a day off. Sure they try to keep up with the lesson but in reality everyone just sits back and has a lot of fun all day. Anzu took this opportunity to be teachers little helper for the day doing anything and everything that she could to help Yamamoto out.
I found it really odd that teacher lady would leave to go to the "bathroom" and leave that annoying little kid in charge. I know she wanted to give her the feeling of "being in charge" but I don't think that was a correct way to do it. I actually use to be like that though... always wanting to help the teacher. I even use to stay inside during recesses and cleaned stuff up for them... I was a weird kid but I suppose every kid wants to be useful in some way at that age. Eventually the day ends and most of the children go home but Anzu wishes to stay behind and help out more. It ends up turning into a little pep girl talk where Anzu brings her worries to the table that Yamamoto will steel away Tsuchida from her because she is so pretty. Yamamoto assures Anzu that she is way cuter than she ever could be and somehow Anzu is happy with that answer. lol kids.
When Tsuchida gets back after attending a wedding he is dismissed immediately at the end of the episode because all the girls have taken a liking to Yamamoto because she is a girl and they had "girl talk" a lot while he was gone so there is NO boys allowed! Super cute because that is very VERY typical at that age when it comes to school. Even more adorable because Yamamoto played along.
Here is yet another amazing ED!
Detective Conan, Evengelion, and Fullmetal Alchemist are what I spy in this episode. I rather like the cute references to other anime it this adorable little show. I also spy a Death Note reference as well... or maybe that was just me looking too hard.
I don't quite understand how the kids are able to stalk him around town and their parents not worry... Then again Anzu's mom is secretly following them so I suppose they are safe. I just know my parents would NEVER let me wander around town like that alone and I'm sure lots of other parents would agree with that. Of course it's not like the children don't get distracted at every corner while in stalk mode. So it's probably even better that Anzu's mom was stalking them in return. XD
The random encounter with the trash thug mafia type guys who have signs on their backs with safety pins was VERY random.

These cute little things followed that odd scene with the trash thugs... They make me think of Dango's and instantly made me rage.
Little kids falling in love with others is cute. Well not so much love at that age but crushes. Especially if the boy/girl is in the same class. The girls gather around to figure out a way to help their friend confess to this boy before something terrible happens like moving away or alien abduction.
Anzu's big way to help her friend confess was to tell her to tell him "hold me" because that's how her mom did it with her day. Kids don't even understand what that means at that age. At least it all works out in the end and they run off to play in the school yard together.
And of course we are given yet another cute ED. I'll never get tired of how awesome these are. I think they are one of the best parts of this show!
Dance In The Vampire Bund 04-05
Blood samples, naked screenings, more testings, going through their things/luggage. Almost makes you think of getting on a plane in the USA.
And I bet they'd love to do this kind of thing too. Anyway this episode had a lot of jumble to it and provided more background information about vampires. Also we had the princess tell all of Japan her demands in a conference.
Note 1: The princess rules all the vampires. If she dies the rest of the vampire race shall die with her. Somehow. I suppose they are all linked in the same vampire fashion we have come to know and love. One master with lots and lots of underlings. This of course, does not mean that she controls them all.
The princess demands: she wants all of japan to be owned by her because she has already sunk in so much money into businesses / structures etc. Interesting. And weird at the same time. She wishes to complete her "bund" where vampires can live happily. lol...
Keeping with the USA terror theme this episode seems to have going for it; there is a bomb threat for the princesses conference and her loyal dog must sniff out the bomb so it isn't too late. Oddly this terror attack wasn't by humans but by a vampire. Yet she wasn't a vampire at first which is how she got into the conference. Some vampire attacked her in her hotel room to turn this poor journalist lady into one of them and use her at will to carry a bomb in.
Note 2: There are vampires known as Fangless, which are vampires who have taken out their fangs and refuse to drink human blood. Very interesting that other vampires that have come to embrace their new found power have not killed the fangless ones off.
The school part of the series is what I do not like the most. I think of it as needless filler... Other kids are finally asking what happened to the student president at school and have picture proof that she was attacked by vampires. Not only that though, they are other vampires besides the princess in the school. Mr. Wolf gets a taste first hand of them as they attacked him because they wish of him to stay away from the princess.
Note 3: Vampires have no taste buds. I find that very interesting for some reason...

I like this one. She reminds me of Miyu from Vampire Princess Miyu. Which is awesome because I loved that show.
Baka to Test to Shokanju & Sora no Woto – 03 & 04
Baka to Test to Shokanju is way more enjoyable then I thought it would be. I find myself laughing at every single episode. It's really refreshing for once to laugh at what actually is happening in the anime than just laughing at the anime it's self.
While these two episodes did make me laugh a lot it has detached it's self from school battles for the most part and started focusing on romance. While seeing our main lead boy in a love triangle situation and his supporting male being hounded by a chick that will not take no for an answer is highly amusing, I hope we get back to what has made me like this show which is the school classroom battles.
I can't wait to see what comes next in this wacky fun anime.
Sora no Woto, Kanata plays bad again... and they eat a lot of food... again. I'm not sure how people find this interesting but at least it's pretty to look at. All the girls but Kanata and Rio go out after breakfast. Soon after everyone leaves Kanata randomly gets a fever while she and Rio sit under a tree and talk about why they joined the military. Rio starts freaking out big time because of Kanata's fever. I assume in her past, her mother got sick and probably died. There's no other reason for her crazy reaction other than that for me. After her freak out she musters up some good thinking and goes to get some medicine.
Rio played Amazing Grace through the mecha that Noel has been working on to make Kanata feel better once she was able to walk around again. Kanata has a memory of someone she knew in her past playing it. The song made me remember that they also used it in Eureka 7 too. They showed some pretty scenery while the song played. If anything keeps me interested in this show it's the background. This small little town is pretty.
Next episode is probably my favourite yet. Mainly because they went out and actually did stuff. This time it's Kanata and Noel's turn to go out into the town. Their mission is to get supplies. They stop off at lots of stores and randomly meet a nun with some kids that Kanata meet when she first arrived to this place. One of the kids whose parents were killed by soldiers gets pissed off and runs away shouting how much he hates the military.
They go to visit a glasswork factory so get a part that old man Carl has been working on for Noel's mecha. She really wants to make it work and thinks that this one piece is key to doing so. They talk about the past machines and how if they were made back then, they should be able to make them now. I'm rather interested to find out exactly what happened to make this world turn back to a simpler time.
Even though almost nothing much happened again in this episode... I really enjoyed it. I think I'm in love with how pretty it is. I don't really care for any of the characters yet but this little town rocks!
Ladies versus Butlers! – 03 – 04
An interesting partner card is needed in order to take the servant-ed exams for students. This card must be freely given and Tomomi gave hers to Akiharu right away but croissant hair wanted to give him hers as well. Somehow this was all according to Tomo's plans... This girl is a weird one.
Once they get into the exam the teacher tells them that the servant must do whatever their partner says. Simple enough. But the ever scheming Tomo has something up her sleve like always. She orders Akiharu to keep Ousawa Mimina, a very amazing artist that goes to their school, company for the whole day.
Surprisingly this episode didn't have nearly as much fanservice in it as I though it would from pictures I had seen prior to watching the episode. Because of those pictures (see below) I actually put off watching this for a while. In fact those pictures were the only part of fanservice for this episode and it was only 3 still shots of croissant hair's weird wild imagination.
This episode mostly just revolved around listening to Mimina whine about how people only care about her hands because of how valuable they are to her art. Oh and they chased a cat around a lot because that is what she REALLY wanted to draw.
P.S forgot about the loli look alike shower scene... That was SO not needed haha
Episode 4 brings us yet another new character. Enter our dark skinned beauty, Ayse Khadim and her super obnoxious caretaker/bodyguard, Hedyeh. What the last episode lacked in fanservice this one picks up the slack greatly.
Akiharu of course gets full on into trouble with this girl by accidentally walking in on her while she is changing... In a classroom... Thus he gets to see an eye full of skin and luxury undergarments. I gotta say I liked those pantsu and bra combo myself . According to her strict family traditions he now has to marry her because no man may see the skin of a lady unless they are to unite.
Of course this leads to all kinds of interesting positions err I mean situations with her now because she is determined to become his bride. Again Tomo schemes away under pretend caring about the reputation of the school and gets croissant hair all riled up. Oddly enough in the end Khadim just gives up and wishes to wait for the day that he'll love her or something. O.o Not before trying to violate him in the infirmary of course.
This show is pure silly. I can't take it seriously and really, no one should. It's suppose to make you laugh and facepalm at the situations that arise for our odd main man. The animation is really pretty for the most part as well. Really enjoying that part of the show.
