Day 10 of The 12 Days of Christmas

Now I liked this anime but not as much as everyone else. I found most of it annoying in general. The characters irritated me like crazy with their endless whining. Yeah I know they are kids but gees suck it up... >.< At least the gained maturity at the end of the show among pretty much all of the characters made the show worthwhile to sit through.

Who? Dominic and Anemone

Why they are adorable: She was a crazy bitch throughout the anime to him. Up till the end at least. He stayed by her side no matter what craziness she put him through. Sure unrequited love is cute but only for so long. You saw that he clearly cared for her more than she did for him at first.

With the recent watching of Canaan right after watching Eureka Seven. It made me appreciate the love a man can have for a crazy lady even if she has no idea till the "end" that he truly is the only one to care for her in the world. Everyone else is just using her. Maybe I just have a thing for seriously good stories that involve unrequited love.

Day 9 of The 12 Days of Christmas

Ninth up for The 12 Days of Christmas: romance moments is Detective Conan Episode 192 - 193 "The Desperate Revival ~ Shinichi's Return ~" and "The Desperate Revival ~ The Promised Place ~". Detective Conan is one of the longest running anime out there and shows no sign of stopping. With endless stories that can be told this series has proven to be highly entertaining for any mystery lover. Slightly repetitive sure, but with over 550 episodes there is bound to be a little overlap. I've personally only watched 218 episodes of the series but have watched all the movies + ova's. (except movie 13) Being a mystery fan I enjoy this series greatly.

Who? Shinichi and Ran

Why they are adorable: They both love each other but have such a hard time saying anything to the other one about it. OK that is highly annoying at times but something ALWAYS happens just before either one of them are about to revile their feelings to the other. Doesn't help of course that Shinichi has this little shrinking problem as well. This one scene was especially well done though.

Shinichi takes Ran to the restaurant where his father took his mother to propose to her. Romantic feeling right there. He wants to tell her how he feels about her and everything that is happening surrounding his strange life but sadly is interrupted by a scream and suddenly he's on the case.

I'm sure I wasn't the only Conan fan out there pulling my hair out at how close this confession was to actually happening. Unfortunatly Shinichi was never able to return as his true form so instead said this to her instead:

Ran still doesn't know the situation with Shinichi but at least he is still able to relay some feelings towards her. Even if it is in his Conan form. <3

*sings* You may dream la la la la la lala....... It gets stuck in my head everytime. So catchy. The ending is AMAZING as well. Much like this anime for me. I loved it and couldn't pull myself away from the screen till I was finished. Sure everyone hates the ending but whatever I didn't mind one bit. Someday I'll get to the manga. (I own vol 1 and that's it so far lol)

Who? Yukino and Soichiro

Why they are adorable: Soichiro for one has balls. He outright tells her "I like you and want to get closer". In this they find out that they are both very similar people (with the attention whoring) and start dating. Together they promise to abandon their fake ways and be true to themselves and each other.

Through fights and sorrow these two are there for each other. Most school life romance anime don't even have the couple in a relationship and it's all about the chase. I find those boring, dry and predictable. Actually watching a romance with people actually in a relationship was refreshing.

Day 7 of The 12 Days of Christmas

I just choose moments that actually made me feel all warm and squishy inside. Nostalgia romance memory moment with Sailor Moon here. I'm going to use the English dub names for this post as that's how I watched it. Surprise, surprise though it is not Serena and Darien that made my youthful little heart beat faster and faster. It's none other that some awesome baddies from the Black Moon Clan. 

Who? Sapphire and Prizma

Why they are adorable: After all the man hating Prizma does in the series she meets Sapphire again on Earth and she turns into mush. Old flames I suppose have a tendency to do that to people. Tending to his wounds she explains that if he came here to punish them for their betrayal that she would take 100% of the blame if he would leave her sisters alone. He replies that he's not here to hunt them down then realizes that he is at great peace sitting there with Prizma. A feeling that he isn't common to have. After a little more talking he remembers about the terrible situation Diamond is in because of Wiseman and tells Prizma that he really should be getting back to Diamond to warn him.

Prizma doesn't want Sapphire to go. She has this terrible feeling that if he does go, he'll never come back again. She doesn't want to loose him. She's come a long way from how she was before she turned to good with the help of Sailor Moon.

She eventually lets Sapphire go after he explains that if her sisters were in trouble she'd do anything possible to help. For him it's the same feeling when it comes to his brother.

He does promise her that he'll come back to her right after he talks with his brother. So he leaves his jacket with her and smiles at her one last time before he turns and goes off to his fate. All Prizma can do is hope and wait for his return. She doesn't have her powers anymore so if she goes she'd only just get in the way.

Unfortunately Sapphire never returns to her side as Wiseman disposes of him and takes the card back that he stole which powers the dark crystal. Prizma realizes this and grieves.

This simple tale of tragedy, love and romance will forever remain as one of my most treasured memories. It came out of no where in the story and hit me hard. 20 minutes of delicious intense storytelling. Sapphire will always be my favourite Sailor Moon character <3

Gooshy magical girl series have never really been my thing. Sure I liked Sailor Moon and all, but I was a kid back then. XD I actually just this summer watched the entire series of Cardcaptor Sakura and I wasn't captivated by it as I hoped I would be. I hear people say that it's the best magical girl series out there but I sadly have to disagree because I found the series boring. So how can a series that bored me to death actually have a gushy romance moment of mine captured. Movie 2 of course.

 

 

Who? Syaoran and Sakura

Why they are adorable: For characters that I didn't care about at all while watching the series they touched me at the end of this movie with this one little priceless moment.

That moment alone made sitting through the entire series to get to this movie worth every minute. Clamp anime for the most part always manage to have some awesome redeeming value to a show that I found to be mediocre.
