With January Over Comes February! = Macross Month
As stated in my Birthday post, I have decided to make February the month that I tackle another one of my anime goals for the year. Watching all of Macross is among those goals and the one I am looking forward to the most.
I haven't seen any Macross series or movies aside from Macross Plus. Which to this day is still in my top 5 favourite anime of all time. So I might be either really happy with the rest of this franchise or a little disappointed. Either way I expect to be entertained and find more amazing anime music.
I plan on watching them in Chronological order as follows:
- Macross Zero - OVA (5 eps)
- Super Dimension Fortress Macross - TV (36 eps)
- The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love? - Movie
- The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Flash Back 2012 - Movie
- Macross Plus - OVA (4 eps) + Movie
- Macross 7 - TV (49 eps)
- Macross 7 The Galaxy Is Calling Me - Movie
- Macross 7 Encore - OVA (3 eps)
- Macross 7 Dynamite - OVA (4 eps)
- Macross Frontier - TV (25 eps)
- Macross Frontier The Movie: The False Diva - Movie (whenever it comes out)
- Macross Frontier Movie: The Wings of Goodbye - Movie (whenever it comes out)
- Macross II - Lovers, Again - Movie
If anyone has any objections to this I'd be glad to reorder. ^_^
I look forward to getting through Macross this month. I have no idea why I've put it off for this long -.-

My Top 60 Series of the Decade 2000-2009
The third and last installment of my decades list brings us to the Series of 2000-2009. The Series were very difficult to choose from and it was very hard to even pick an order (Don't take the ordering of these series to seriously) let alone limit it to a top 50. So I did 60 instead! XD
Lots of other bloggers have already put up their lists and you can find them all listed over on Kitsune's page. Check them out! There's a lot of great lists to be had for all those list crazy people! Also don't forget to check out my OVA's list and the Movies list if you missed them. Digitalboy created an ultimate top decade list that everyone should definitely check out if they haven't already. Add titles that you think are missing from this huge list.
Time to look at my top 60 series of the decade!
60.) Gravitation (2000, 2001) - What can I say I liked the boy boy love... and songs XD
59.) Gilgamesh (2003, 2004) - Love hate, love hate, love hate. Try it. Love it or hate it. I still don't know.
58.) Oban Star-Racers (2006) - Star Wars Episode 1 meets anime. Only it's about a girl racer instead of a boy.
57.) Tokyo Mew Mew (2002, 2003) - Favourite magical girl series besides Sailor Moon. XD
56.) Doujin Work (2007) - Hilarious comedy about a girl who draws a doujin for the first time.
55.) Junjou Romantica (2008) - Yes more boy boy love. More explicit, more smooches. S2 was a let down from the awesomeness of the first season.

44.) Scrapped Princess (2003) - A great story about sibling bonds with magical powers.
43.) ef - a tale of memories (2007) - Ok I only really like Kyosuke's story with Kei. Those two are adorable. Stay away from S2.

To Heart Journey Part 3: To Heart 2
Marching onward to Season 3 of this painful series I got surprised as I did not read anything about it. All new characters with the same story but "different" Ok so maybe they can make this franchise better right? Wrong... They definitely made it worse. Like a terrible slime covered slope I dove down into this one expecting the worst and that is exactly what I received.

Fap job? I wish.

In bed? Sex?? Episode 1! Again I wish...
This series take on following the new lame adventures of Takaaki Kono and his number one girl that chases him around the school yard Konomi Yuzuhara. Who is a timid weird girl who just tries too hard to be interesting. It's a snore fest already...

Swinging on a tree after falling from up high!

Boob pile on!
Tamaki Kosaka saves what little is good about this show. She is a childhood friend of both Takaaki and Konomi. She has a crazy and wondrous personality that just makes things seem better when she is around. Although not by much as To Heart 2 gets an amazing 1/10 from me and that 1 point comes from Tamaki.
The rest of the show was painful to watch and took lots of stuff from other anime and did it very badly. Weather it was the girl who "is" an alien named Lucy, followed by Karin Sasamori who always wanted to find out more about aliens, or the typical good twin bad twin type Sango and Ruri.

Alien chick.

It detects ALIENS.....!

You can guess which is the bad one.
Not to forget the perverted friend of Takaaki, Yuji Kosaka who is the little brother of Tamaki and always gets a good beating from her for being obsessed with video taping or taking pictures of girls... Even though nothing perverted you ever see. No pantsu shots, no nothing.

I hear your frustration boy.
Oh and the robot ladies were back in this one as well. Didn't take as much as a ridiculous roll as in To Heart though which was nice. All other characters were pointless and annoying to me. Especially this library chick Manaka Komaki. She was SUPER annoying. Timid and shy but eventually does things her way but still gets bullied throughout the show anyway as is her roll as the class president against her will.

I am the most useless character in this show! Watch me carry BOOKS!
Unless there is something I'm totally missing from the Visual Novels I don't understand the appeal of this show. It's boring, flat, and has virtually nothing new about it. To the school romance genre... Then again I was never one to fawn over such craptacular stories. I'll leave that for the lonely otaku that got picked on in school to drool all over this series...

To Heart Journey Part 2 ~Remember My Memories~
Continuing on with this terrible franchise I come to the sequel of To Heart with dread and the over powering feeling of sorrow. How can they make it worse I thought to myself Season 1 was bad enough. But of course THEY can ALWAYS make things worse... I always have to remind myself that. ~Remember My Memories~ made To Heart seem like a walk in the park.

Can't he ever be nice to her?

Cleaning...
Sometime has passed and the kids are slightly older. Not much I assume but older none the less. Hiroyuki Fujita's beloved Multi was taken away from school for having technical issues but she suddenly returns to a new semester but completely forgetting any of her past relationships with the students. *tear* so sad.... LOL not really. Hiroyuki and the rest of the gang hang around with Multi in hopes of helping her remember something about her past. I assume cleaning... Hiroyuki even goes as far as to meeting with Multi's creator and tries to help out on the technical side of things.

Are you sure? I thought it was to clean!
All Multi ever and I mean EVER does is clean. I'm aware that she is a robot and maybe somewhere in this series it was explained why that is all she does. Besides the simple explanation of she's a school helping robot of course! Cause that goes without saying right? But honestly why bother making it LOOK like a human where it is CLEARLY going to confuse high school boys?
Anyway that is pretty much what ~Remember My Memories~ is ALL about. They focus a little more on Akari trying to get Hiroyuki to like her even more but it generally ends like this (pictures below) all through out the episodes. But who knows maybe something amazing will happen in the last episode?

Yes tell us please.

*facepalm* we already KNOW that!
They toss in some of that love triangle stuff that they had in the first series at the end of this one. But it doesn't really get interesting at all for being a love triangle... more like love fail because Akari is painful to see on screen whenever she is around. Let alone the awkward conversation she and Multi had about this little love problem. Kinda weird that she's jealous over a robot to begin with....

Awkward conversations to have with a robot....

Yes what would you do robot girl?

Good answer....
The rest of the gang was around but they were more like statues. Very few episodes revolved around anyone that wasn't Multi, Akari, or our oh so loved lame school boy hero.... Hiroyuki. Maybe next season gang!

Who are you all again?
~Remember My Memories~ gets a whopping 2/10.... Can't wait to watch To Heart 2....

To Heart Journey
As my ever going quest to finish off a certain someones "lists" from Anime-Planet it has once again brought me to dreaded anime that I know are going to be terrible. Yes I went into starting To Heart thinking it was going to be bad and boring. I hate it when I'm right. Simply knowing an anime comes from a Visual Novel I am always very weary of it's quality. Especially of the Eroge type.

Hiroyuki Fujita & Masashi Sato sitting in class
To Heart follows the oh so boring school adventures of Hiroyuki Fujita. His dry and lame personality make fans of this type of anime (school romance) cringe. Why can't he ever be happy with the situation he is in?? MILLIONS of other men would love to be in his shoes but he simply just doesn't care and wanders around in this anime world oblivious to everything. Oh I can't forget to mention his token best oblivious friend Masashi Sato is along for the ride as well. A pointless character to I can only assume is there to try and make Hiroyuki look good.
~~~
Right here these typical cliche characters are driving me insane. If it's not the eye rolling I do from seeing Hiroyuki oh the screen it's the cringing I do when Masashi is around as well. Painful as it might be I continue onward to meet the oh so many girls of this anime. I'll never understand why there are so many more girls in these kind of anime than boys. I'm pretty sure Hiroyuki Fujita & Masashi Sato are the only real male classmates in the school. There is one other science older male that shows up later on but aside from him the male presents in this show is lacking. I think it would be interesting to have a school full of few females and see all the weird quirks of the males for once. Cause almost ALL of the girls in To Heart are really weird in their own "special" way.
Now for the meaningless girls. Akari Kamigishi is the one that has the awesome life goal of wanting to sit beside Hiroyuki in class and sadly gets her wish so she must now make a new life goal. This of course is to always be with Hiroyuki and all that lovely romance crap. Painful to watch her go through school with one little goal such as this. Shiho Nagaoka is her best friend that is always fighting with the boys. She is your typical tomboy and will eventually start to have feelings that she just isn't sure what to do with for "someone" uhh ohhh love triangle. But don't worry it'll all work out in the end. It always does right?
Now like with every other school romance there are lots, lots more characters running around or well just being in the way. I didn't care for any of the other ones and frankly they aren't really worth mentioning. There's your quiet one, your rich one, the animal lover, sisters, and so on. Although I should mention Multi because somewhere along the lines the anime did take a sudden RANDOM turn to her for the simple need, that I assume the creators had, for an android. Yup that's right she's a robot that looks, acts, and talks like a human...... WTF?
Multi Cleaning (I think it's all she does....)
Now I wish I could say well yeah they made a short little story and that's it that's all. To Heart has 2 more seasons along with 3 different ova's.... Help
It was hard enough getting through this one to have to dread sitting through more. To Heart: Remember My Memories will be next. Oh and this show gets a 3/10.....
