On the Second Day of Christmas My True Love Gave to Me: Two Amazing Cartoons

On the Second Day of Christmas My True Love Gave to Me
Two Amazing Cartoons,
and The Best Boots in All of Anime

One random day Digibro and I were talking on twitter and he randomly mentioned how he was shocked that I hadn't watched My Little Pony yet.

I sat back and realized this was kinda shocking myself. 2 seasons had gone by of it after all. I did like the old cartoon of it while growing up and I liked those first 2 episodes of season 1 alright cause I did manage to watch to see what all the hype was about. So that weekend back in July thanks to that tweet and being all alone that weekend with nothing to do but watch anime and play video games, I sat down and marathoned ALL of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic! I don't need to go and tell people to watch MLP because they either already have and <3 it or just don't care enough to bother. So I'll just leave you with a list with some of my favourite Pony things.

  1. Favourite Pony: Rarity (5th Pony in the picture above)
  2. Favourite young Pony: Sweetie Belle (Rarity's sister)
  3. Favourite Episode Season 1: "Winter Wrap Up"
  4. Favourite Episode Season 2: "A Canterlot Wedding Part 1-2"
  5. Thing I dislike the most about Ponies: "Cutie Mark Crusaders" even though I LOVE cutie marks to bits
  6. Favourite background Pony: DJ Pon-3
  7. Favourite pet: Gummy (Pinkie Pie's)
  8. Favourite song Season 1: "Winter Wrap Up"
  9. Favourite song Season 2: "Smile Song"
  10. Favourite Pony food: Apple Cupcakes

Got anymore Pony questions for me? Leave a comment and I'll answer! (I have no answers for anything S3... I haven't watched any of it yet... >.>)

When I get burned out on anime I generally turn to video games, regular tv, or cartoons in English. I had been sitting on Wakfu since 2010 and decided now would be the perfect time to check it out especially since its season 2 was finished now as well.

Wakfu isn't in English but I know French pretty well being a Canadian and all living in Quebec, so it wasn't an issue following along when I didn't want to read the subtitles. While I watched the series, Wakfu first and foremost is one of those online MMO's. I haven't played it but after viewing the series it almost makes me want to try it out. I find it interesting that Wakfu was made into a show then its own game based in the same world as its father game Dofus. I don't know much more than that with the game part of Wakfu but I thought I'd pass along the knowledge for those that might want to look into it more.

So what is so special about a French cartoon you might be wondering. Well...

Most anime don't get that kind of reaction out of me so I knew I had something really special. The show is just about a boy who is searching for his true family and gets into some crazy adventures along the way. He meets some of the most awesome people you could imagine. For a show that mainly features children (like most anime do) this one does not disappoint. I won't really get into any more details because I really think people should watch this and experience it for themselves. As an animation fan you own it to yourself to check it out!

FUN FACT: There are 3 special episodes and the one called "Noximilien l'Horloger", which tell the origins of the main baddie, was produced in Japan by the same people who worked on Kaiba and Kemonozume! Two very interesting anime plot and look wise.

People might not need to be persuaded to watch MLP but they sure as hell need to get watching Wakfu!! CHECK IT OUT!
