chii’s Does Not Want List
So since I did a favourite anime of all time list I decided to do a list of anime that just didn't do it for me. Like the favourites, making this list has some requirements. It had to have pissed me off a lot and be bad according to my tastes. I generally let a lot of bad things slide by without much thought so these anime ended up leaving a nasty enough impression on me that just made me not able to forget. I have absolutely NO desire to re-watch any of these shows and I generally can't stand the attention they get from most anime fans. Some are failed potential that betrayed my feelings so much that I just can't let it go and some are sequels that completely let me down.
If one of your favourite anime happens to be on this list do not bother leaving flame comments. It will be deleted. Take note that everyone in this world is completely different and so their tastes are different as well. Some people are more compatible than others. If one anime happens to be a masterpiece for someone could be another's poison. These happen to be my poisons! Like my Favourites List I'll update this one when something decides to be a terrible anime that just has to make the list.

Review of 2010 Anime Part 4 ~Fall~
Fall has proven once again to be a very enjoyable season. Having so many shows airing certainly helps. I always feel a little overwhelmed with Fall and Spring anime wise though because there is just so much to check out.
The only 2 shows I didn't start were To Love-Ru and Pokemon. The first because I just haven't watched the season one of and honestly I have no real desire to watch it. It doesn't look like the type of show that I would enjoy in the slightest. The second being Pokemon well... I'm working on it very, very slowly with my Pokemon workout. I'm totally going to be starting that back up again come January.
I'm glad that I enjoyed this season a lot. There are only 5 shows that are under 5 out of 10 rating wise. I think that's pretty darn good out of 25 shows. I'm sad that it does hold the worst show of 2010 for me though. It would have held the best show as well but honestly Katanagatari is a pretty darn good pick for my 2010 best overall.
Best Show of fall for me aside from that adorable little dinosaurs would be Kuragehime. Every character was simply awesome. I'm completely in love with everything about this show it's impossible just to pick one moment.
Worst Show of fall for me without a doubt is Yosuga no Sora, actually no I'll make that one the worst overall for 2010. So next in line for fall is Fortune Arterial. Did anyone honestly even watch this show and enjoy it? Granted I didn't keep up with any chatter about it.
Here's my big list of Best to Worst shows of fall 2010:
- Kuragehime 10/10
- Omae Umasou da na 10/10
- Arakawa Under the Bridge 9/10
- Sora no Otoshimono 9/10
- Star Driver: Kagayaki no Takuto (still airing) 8/10
- Bakuman (still airing) 8/10
- Letter Bee (still airing) 8/10
- Otome Youkai Zakuro 8/10
- Ironman 8/10
- Shinryaku! Ika Musume 7/10
- Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru 7/10
- A Certain Magical Index (still airing) 7/10
- Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai 7/10
- Super Robot Wars: Original Generation (still airing) 7/10
- Hyakka Ryouran: Samurai Girls 7/10
- Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt 6/10
- Yumeiro Patissiere 6/10
- Togainu no Chi 6/10
- Hakuouki 6/10
- Psychic Detective Yakumo 6/10
- The World God Only Knows 4/10
- Tantei Opera Milky Holmes 4/10
- MM! 2/10
- Fortune Arterial 2/10
- Yosuga no Sora 1/10
Surprise enjoyment: Bakuman I personally can't believe I'm enjoying as much as I am. It's slow, slice of school life, and about making manga. I have pretty much NO interest in any of these subjects. Not to mention the romance thrown in here and there. So what keeps me watching and not bored to tears like most people with it by now? I honestly am not sure. I've just been really liking it. I think it heavily has to do with the characters though because they are just all amazing.
Surprise fail: Psychic Detective Yakumo not so much a surprise as a disappointment. I watched the first episode like everyone else and had the grrr reaction to it. The very end held my interest but it still failed. This show made me very sad because I was so looking forward to it.
Honorable mentions: Omae Umasou da na DINOSAUR! Enough said. Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt I didn't enjoy for the most part but I give credit where credit is due generally and it certainly deserves some of that. It was totally unique in a strange and odd kind of way. Yumeiro Patissiere what kind of ending was THAT?! I'm still very angry that they changed the OP from the amazing fluffy macaroon song to the shitty who know what OP. Don't get me started on the lame ending. They should have just kept going with the other series or nothing at all. This is why I generally hate shoujo!
OP 1
OP 2
Thanks for reading!

Review of 2010 Anime Part 3 ~Summer~
Summer was actually really busy for me in real life so I ended up only steadily watching Sengoku Basara, Strike Witches, Sekirei, and Kuroshitsuji. Why those 4? Simply because they were all season 2's to shows I had already seen. I wasn't quite willing to get my hopes up for fresh and new like I did with Winter.
Oddly a new Digimon series started to air too. I'm not honestly sure why since Season 5 ended back in 2007 but I suppose they are reaching out to the new generation of kids or something. Maybe I'll watch it someday but probably after I finish/catch up with Pokemon. Who knows.
Summer is generally a lot like winter anime wise. There's often one or 2 really great series and the rest is rather meh. I was impressed that only 5 anime were on the low side of things out of 16. I also really enjoyed watching everything just after they completed. I had fun reading everyones end thoughts as I caught up with the ends myself.
Best Show of summer for me without a doubt is Highschool of the Dead. A lot of people actually picked this one to be their favourites. Weather it be for the zombies, for the ecchi, or for everything that was silly fun! Boobs defying gravity was a must in this show and it was hilarious. I never take ANYTHING that has zombies in it seriously. I mean come on really, zombies! That's just grand old fun and I was glad to see an anime adaptation of the zombie world. I love zombie movies!
Worst Show of summer for me of course was Amagami SS. I'm just not interested in the majority of romance shows. This one also teetered on the harem side of things but had a twist to it that they did one girl at a time. So it was basically like watching some lonely boy playing a VN over and over and over again to see how many different girls he could get. Yeah, no thanks.
Here's my big list of Best to Worst shows of summer 2010:
- Highschool of the Dead 9/10
- Sengoku Basara 8/10
- Kuroshitsuji 8/10
- Seitokai Yakuindomo 8/10
- Occult Academy 7/10
- Nurarihyon no Mago 7/10
- The Legend of the Legendary Heroes 7/10
- Strike Witches 7/10
- Shiki 7/10
- Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakama-tachi 6/10
- Mitsudomoe 5/10
- Sekirei 4/10
- Asobi ni Iku yo 4/10
- Shukufuku no Campanella 3/10
- Amagami SS 2/10
Surprise enjoyment: Seitokai Yakuindomo was one darn hilarious anime. I simply loved all the dirty jokes that the girls were making. I honestly had no idea what I was getting into. I mean the plot revolved around a boy who is one of the first that started going to this all girls school that suddenly opened their doors to males. Sounds like a boring harem plot line but man did it ever turn out way different and more awesome than I could have imagined. VIVA LA PERIOD JOKES!
Surprise fail: Asobi ni Iku yo you'd think it being about catgirls would be enough. Sometimes you need just a little more though. It tried REALLY hard though I'll give it credit for that. But even alien catgirls in SPACE didn't save it for me.
Honorable mentions: Shiki started off very weak. So weak in fact I put off watching the rest until earlier this week. Man am I ever glad I picked it back up because the later episodes after 13 are just pure awesome. I'm also glad that I got to watch them all but the last episode in one swift go. I can't imagine waiting each week to see what happens. Mitsudomoe while has a middle rating it is ok. It's very hit and miss with me more being on the miss side of things but man when it hits a funny part it is simply hilarious.

Review of 2010 Anime Part 2 ~Spring~
Like always there was a lot of shows to watch in spring. 24 shows aired and out of that I watched 21. (Well 20 see below) Sometimes the amount scares me that I'm able to keep up with. Thankfully there were a handful of treasures in spring that I was highly looking forward to. There were 6 season "2" shows airing and I watched half of those. Here we go with Spring's Aired Anime.
Only Ikkitousen, Major and Jewelpet weren't watched due to all being related to series I haven't even touched yet. I actually can't wait to get my hands on Ikkitousen. I know it's a boob filled, poorly adapted, Romance of the Three Kingdoms knock off but the fan inside me tells me I must watch it at some point. Now that all has aired I think I'll tackle it for next year. Major I'm still afraid of since it's about baseball... Which is funny cause the S2 of Ookiku Furikabutte aired as well which I enjoyed a great deal.
I've always enjoyed spring because there's always plenty of shows to sink my teeth into. Amazingly all are finished airing but 2. SD Gundam Sangokuden Brave Battle Warriors and Hime Chen! Otogi Chikku Idol Lilpri. Long titles are long but worth sitting down and watching if you A: Like the idea of Gundam chibis being ROTK characters or B: Like magical girls who sing. I obviously am in love with SD Gundam way more than Lilpri but both are pretty awesome watches.
Best Show of spring for me was House of Five Leaves. I looked forward to a new episode every week. I drooled over the OP and the art just about made me cum in my pants. It was a lovely slow show about an adorable shy samurai with his bandit buddies. SO GOOD. I gotta re-watch and review it to gush more because it deserves more love.
Worst Show of spring for me aside from Kiss x Sis because I dropped that show like a smelly cat shit down the toilet... Anyway the worst show was Angel Beats. I tried REALLY hard to like it but KEY... I fucking hate you KEY. They can't do anything right. I vowed not to watch anymore of their crap releases ever again but I made an exception for this one because it wasn't made from a VN. It was new but still failed prey to the usual crap KEY puts out. >.<
Here's my big list of Best to Worst shows of spring 2010:
- House of Five Leaves 10/10
- SD Gundam Sangokuden Brave Battle Warriors (still airing) 10/10
- Arakawa Under the Bridge 9/10
- Rainbow: Nisha Rokubou no Shichinin 9/10
- Senkou no Night Raid 8/10
- Tatami Galaxy 8/10
- Giant Killing 7/10
- Ookiku Furikabutte 7/10
- Koihime Musou 7/10
- Working 7/10
- Hakuouki Shinsengumi Kitan 6/10
- Hime Chen! Otogi Chikku Idol Lilpri (still airing) 5/10
- Kaichou wa Maid-sama 5/10
- Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou 4/10
- K-On 4/10
- Heroman 4/10
- B Gata H Kei 3/10
- Mayoi Neko Overrun 3/10
- Uragiri wa Boku no Namae o Shitteiru 3/10
- Angel Beats 2/10
- Kiss x Sis (DROPPED) 1/10
Surprise enjoyment: Giant Killing is about soccer... I'm not a sports person let along a soccer one but this one grabbed me. It wasn't the sport it's self but more so the characters striving for their dreams. It was great fun reading both Shinmaru and Emperor J posts on this wonderful show.
Surprise fail: Uragiri wa Boku no Namae o Shitteiru... I hate "yaoi" series that are like this. All the drama with none of the meat to back it up. I'll stick with those weird yaoi ova's that come out every now and then. At least I get to see sex there.
Honorable mentions: Rainbow started off very rough and tough. The imagery alone was enough to make you wanna cry. It was a really dark anime about boys sent to prison and how insane it was in there for them. It got more uplifting by the end of the series but still kicked you in the balls every chance it got. Heroman... Just exactly what was that? Senkou no Night Raid everyone dismissed after the first episode. But honestly I thought it was great!

Review of 2010 Anime Part 1 ~Winter~
Like last year I made it a goal to watch everything that aired this year. With a few exceptions of course. Season 2 of shows I haven't seen were counted out and shows that I had seen a lot of but knew I couldn't just stomach anymore. Yup that means no Hidamari Sketch for me this winter! I still can't stand that so many seasons of it are being made... Cobra The Animation was the only other show I didn't watch that aired. It is something I've been wanting to watch for a while and this as certainly bumped it up in my want to watch list. Here we go with Winter's Aired Anime.
Winter actually was a really short season with only 13 shows that aired. Katanagatari started but it only showed one episode per month for the entire year so I don't quite count it. Only 2 shows ended up being 24 episodes (Durarara and Qwaser) and carried onto Spring where all the others were 12-13 episodes. So everything pretty much ended for new spring anime to take over the airwaves.
Winter honestly was a pretty boring season. It had some winners but half my list is on the lower half, out of 10 score wise for only 13 series... Everything was new except for Hidamari Sketch, Cobra, and Heartcatch but since I only started Heartcatch that didn't really matter to me. I was expecting new and fresh from everything but all I got was lame and crappy for the most part.
Katanagatari did something new. Something I haven't ever really seen before. Well in more ways than one honestly. Some of it was cliche like the one episode per sword capture type deal but mostly it was unique. The art and music were amazing and not to mention that you only got one episode per month! That was something special to me. I had always honestly wondered why no one had ever really done a show like that before (There might have been but I'm too lazy to research it) spanning an entire year with 12, 45 minute episodes. Generally I hate shows that have long air dates but Katanagatari was reliable for when it was going to come out. So I knew I would get my show once a month no matter what.
Best Show of winter for me, aside from Katanagatari because that is the winner for overall best anime of 2010 was Durarara. I was looking forward to it from the moment I saw it announced. I watched the first episode and wrote a little something about it and then I actually ended up waiting till it was finished to watch anymore. I'm SO glad I waited too because there's nothing worse than waiting to see one of your favourite shows one episode at a time over many, many weeks. Some people love that but I just can't stand it with something I'm totally into.
Worst Show of winter for me would be Chu-Bra... Even though it's THE only series I have "successfully" blogged all the way through... ._. ...I love panties but not from the eyes of a 12 year old. I'm not even going to chew this anime out anymore. I think I've done that enough already. Urrg.
Here's my big list of Best to Worst shows of winter 2010:
- Durarara 10/10
- Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu 8/10
- Hanamaru Youchien 7/10
- Sora no Woto 7/10
- Heartcatch Pretty Cure (still airing) 6/10
- Seikon no Qwaser 5/10
- Dance In The Vampire Bund 4/10
- Ookami Kakushi 4/10
- Ladies Versus Butlers 4/10
- Omamori Himari 2/10
- Chu-Bra 1/10
Surprise enjoyment: Hanamaru Youchien I expected to be just another one of those perverted school kid shows that everyone thinks is cute. It ended up being much, much more.
Surprise fail: Ookami Kakushi I don't even know what that was...
Honorable mentions: Cobra I honestly can't wait to sink my teeth into. I put off watching the new one because I haven't seen the old. This is something I shall be completing in the year to come for sure. Sora no Woto I actually expected to hate a lot more than I ended up. It was total win though. Well not total, it could have been a little less slice of war life like and a little more awesome even though what was there in general was pretty darn awesome. I'm still not sure of my overall thoughts of the show. Heartcatch has brought Pretty Cure back up to my magical girl standards. It was shattered with Fresh last year so I was expecting the worst. Thankfully I got the best. Seikon no Qwaser I think digiboy said it best here "purposefully awesomely bad".
